After God scattered the people virtually every people group built themselves up and viewed themselves as superior to others. The main source of this is sin, followed by the fact that using such helps to unify a people.

It's interesting when studying the names of American Indian tribes how many of their names basically means something along the lines of "people" or "the people". In their views, their tribe was made up of true people while all others were lesser.

All of this worked for God's purposes in separating people and keeping them from working together for thousands of years. When Christ sets all things right such will be no more.

I can't help thinking this: When people find they can't be superior to God (isn't that the reason why they built that tower? that they put themselves above God?), They start trying to be superior to each other.
