Members JerryNumbers
Court: Army Corps of Engineers liable for Katrina flooding I feel for all of those who lost their homes and or family. But how can a court rule this way. When your living in such a places as that, no human or humans can protect you from the consequences that comes from living in such a place when a big hurricane comes along. Seems they are gearing up for it to happen all over again one day, for hurricanes will be here until this world gets its judgment.
Members no name joe
The hurricane did not do most of the damage. Most of the damage came from the levy breaking, which was found to be defective. It is the Corps jOB to upkeep the levy, and did not do it. Members JerryNumbers
UGH, the levy breaking was a consequence of the hurricane, that is if no hurricane, no breeched levy. Get real! You cannot protect people 100% of the time when they build their house below sea level.
Members no name joe
Had the levy been constructed properly, it would have held, and the damage would have been much less. It is no different than an architect designing a building to be earthquake resistant in California. If he was negligent, then he is responsible if it falls down in an earthquake. The levy was designed to hold back the waters. There as an error in the design, and it did not hold, causing massive flooding.

So you think weak man can build something that can hold up to what and all powerful God has designed? After all, He is still in control of this world, not man. Members futurehope
The reallity is NO. Man is out of their league in trying to do this and it was bound to happen eventually. When you move to an area like that knowing the potential hazards.....you are liable for it and no one else. It's no different than if I build a house on a hillside in California and it gets destroyed by a mud slide or I build in the mountains and get wiped out by an avalanche. Man will never be able to design anything perfectly or anything that can stand up forever against God's natural design.
