    • Within the article on "The Great Artesian Basin," are scientific facts that the dinosaurs were destroyed as a species after the flood of Noah. The following is a quote of the section. Well-preserved dinosaur footprints are also reported toward the top of the stratigraphic sequence in the Winton Formation at Lark Quarry, a site 120 km southwest of Winton in central Queensland.37 Excavations in 1976 by a large labour force of volunteers revealed several thousand footprints representing the trackways of well over 100 bipedal dinosaurs, many of them apparently no bigger than chickens. Part of a plan view of the footprints is reproduced from Thulborn and Wade38 in Figure 5. A thick overburden of sandstone needed to be broken up by jack-hammers and levered out with crowbars to expose the footprints. In all some 60 tons of overburden was removed. It was then necessary to clean the footprints by removing the sandstone which filled them. Footprints have been uncovered at three locations spanning some 200 m, and all appear to be at the same stratigraphic level. This strongly suggests that the footprints are part of the Winton Formation itself. The presence of footprints is important because it rules out the Recessive stage of the Flood event as shown in Table 4. The Bible records that “Everything on dry land that had the breath of life in its nostrils died” (Genesis 7:22). This would have included dinosaurs, because even if they were amphibious and comfortable in shallow, near-shore waters, the strong deep currents of the Flood would have overwhelmed them. This is suggested as the explanation for many dinosaur graveyards in North America,39 and is doubtless the cause of their mass extinction. Table 4. Here is the link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thessaloniki The apostle Paul was a missionary. In his second missionary journey, Paul, Silas, and Timothy, travelled to Thessalonica and preached the gospel, Acts 17:1-15. They initially preached the gospel in the local synagogue. The Lord blessed with many Greeks, or Gentiles, being converted. Due to a heart of envy, the missionary group was persecuted and had to leave the area, after three weeks, and they then travelled to Berea and then to Athens. At the end of the book of Thessalonica we read this note. “The first epistle unto the Thessalonians was written from Athens.” Although not considered inspired by God and included in Holy Writ, the note can be assumed as historical truth. “… unto the church of the Thessalonians.” In the brief time that the apostle Paul, Silas, and Timothy were at the city of Thessalonica, and in the time of persecution, the Greeks living there believed the message of salvation. A local church was established. The apostle Paul is clearly referring to one congregation of believers and not to some “Universal Church.” The notion of a “Universal Church” in either First or Second Thessalonians is non existent. The church was a local assembly. No ecclesiastical hierarchy is mentioned, or implied, in either First or Second Thessalonians nor any other portion of scripture. In 1 Thessalonians 1: 6a we read this very important phase concerning our study in the local church, “And ye became followers of us and of the Lord ...” The Thessalonian saints followed the teachings, and godly living of Paul and the other brethren, left their idolatrous practices, learned the doctrines of the scriptures, and became soul-winners. “… followers of us and of the Lord ...” includes the doctrine of the local church. The Lord Jesus is the head of the church: Matthew 16:18, “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” There is to be no ecclesiastical authority, or denomination, of any kind to be over the local assembly. Concerning Baptism: Believers only and baptism by immersion only, “Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.” Acts 1:22
    • The Jews of that time/place called any special observance a "High Sabbath", & these included the two "Holy Convocations" of Passover Week. The rules were the same as for the regular weekly Sabbath, plus the special rules for that occasion. Thus, there could be two Sabbaths in one week. (If the special day fell on the regular Sabbath, the same rules were observed.)
    • One trick they tried with me was to send an old black fella to my door who'd refereed several of my fights & had been a notable heavyweight himself til injury ended his career. They knew I held him in high esteem.   I told him, "Mr. - - - . you're welcome in my home any time, but I'll NEVER be a JW. I am saved by the grace (unmerited favor) of JESUS CHRIST, God's Son, who is also God, and nothing can sway me from that. I'm hoping that YOU come to the same belief & realize how shallow & false the JWs are."  We talked about other things, and he didn't try to "convert " me any more. (Unfortunately, he died while still part of that cult.)     The local kingdom hall closed & sold their building. There's no kingdom hall within 10 miles of my home now. They just couldn't attract enough gullible people to support their local coven.     As I said, they haven't been back for about 3 years. But the Mor(m)ons have. IMHO, they're as bad a cult as the Jws are. I give them the same treatment as I do the JWs. "You preach to me, but you must gimme equal time to preach to YOU." The same "missionaries" never come back.
    • I saw recently that a coupla Amish men fled on foot from the cops who were pulling over their buggy for erratic steering. The men left behind evidence they'd been drinking alcohol heavily in their buggy. Now, the cops are stuck with the buggy & horse for now. (I don't know what branch of Amish they are.)   OTOI, I have a friend who just had a home partially built by Amish. They built all the framework & installed all the doors & inside walls, as well as the roof & outside walls. They paused while infrastructure for electrical & plumbing/sewage was installed by other contractors. Then, they finished.  They were brought to work in trucks each AM & picked up by the same trucks each eve. Using all hand tools, their work was of the highest quality. Their price was more-than-fair.     Unfortunately, they're among the hardest people to lead to Christ. I've had more success with moonies and Moslems.  Hard to change people who believe they're already saved !
