2 Peter 3:11-13 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Notice that the verse does not say that the elements will be destroyed: When you "melt" something, it changes from a solid to a liquid and takes a different form. God's Creation fascinates me. I was watching this documentary about the Magellan spa…

"DARWIN DAY" COMING TO A SCHOOL NEAR YOU By Sharon Hughes December 30, 2007 NewsWithViews.com "Darwin Day," a celebration of "the life of Charles Darwin as the symbol for a global celebration of science and humanity" is coming to a school near you on February 12, 2008. Sponsored by the Institute for Humanist Studies, their website encourages that Darwin Day be celebrated in many different ways: "civic ceremonies with official proclamations, educational symposia, birthday parties, art shows, book discussions, lobby days, games, protests, and dinner parties. LONDON (Reuters) - Neanderthals have spoken out for the first time in 30,000 years, with the help of scientists who have simulated their voices using fossil evidence and a computer synthesizer. ADVERTISEMENT Robert McCarthy, an anthropologist at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, used new reconstructions of Neanderthal vocal tracts to work out how they would have sounded, NewScientist.com reported on Wednesday. The conclusion is that Neanderthals spoke, but sounded rather different to us. Specifically, the ancient humans' lacked the "quantal vowel" sounds that underlie modern speech and which provide cues that help speakers understand one another. By modeli…

Genesis 1:28 KJV: And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. I have been asked by a Ruckmanite about this verse. I know that my father and i went round and round about this verse and the one word "replenish" in particular. If the "Gap Theory" isn't correct, then what is the resoning behind this particular word being used in the English (KJVO) translation?

Specifically what kind of "sons" are referred to in the following verses? Sons of who? Gal 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Why has God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts? This verse says "because ye are sons". If angels are sons, has God sent the Spirit of his Son into their hearts? Are they indwelled with the Holy Spirit? Gal 4:7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. This verse says if you're a son, then you are an heir of God through Christ. If angels are sons, are they heirs of God through Christ?

Are some religious leaders missionaries for evolution? It may seem a bit strong to call some Christian leaders ?missionaries for evolution,? but, in fact, leaders in many denominations will make an all-out effort to promote evolution. While some Bible-upholding leaders oppose what they?re doing, their voices are often drowned out. Evolutionists can capitalize on this confusion in the church. Sometimes church leaders are some of their strongest allies! Here?s what the Paleontological Society said in an evolution tract written for the general public: ?Many people of faith, including scientists, find no conflict between evolution and their religion; in fact, m…

I have never heard anyone present such valid arguments for the Existence of God better than William Lane Craig. Paul writes in Romans 1:20, "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:" Well, William Lane Craig validates and expounds on this with arguments that are irrefutable such as morality and the creation of the universe. I?m glad you found this site, because I want to share with you my thoughts from time to time here about a subject that is very near and dear to me: freedom. EXPELLED: No Intelligence Allowed is a controversial, soon-to-be-released documentary that chronicles my confrontation with the widespread suppression and entrenched discrimination that is spreading in our institutions, laboratories and most importantly, in our classrooms, and that is doing irreparable harm to some of the world?s top scientists, educators, and thinkers. America is not America without freedom. In every turning point in our history, freedom has been the key goal we are seeking: the Mayflower coming here…

Having encountered "Big Bang Christians" before, I thought this piece from Answers In Genesis was worth posting. Q: Did God use the big bang to bring the universe into existence? A: No, although many Christians say that we can believe in the big bang?as long as you say God did it. But here?s the big problem with such a scenario. By saying that God created the universe using the big bang, one is really saying that what God said He did in His Word is not true. Genesis 1 teaches that God made the earth first, covered with water. The sun, moon, and stars were not made until the fourth day of creation. The big bang, however, teaches that the sun and stars came before…

........Koko, JoJo and Bonzo Architects? Somebody needs to point out to this guy that even 'lower' forms of life like honeybees, birds, beavers and termites build things which are FAR more complex and have much more highly 'advanced' design than a chimpanzee can do. I watched a nature film which showed a crab grabbing sea anemones and carefully placing them onto it's shell, to protect itself from predators. Another one showed a bird actually sewing leaves together, stitching them with strands from spider webs to make it's nest. Speaking of spider webs; what about the engineering that goes into one? What about the perfect rows of hexagons in a honeycomb? Or the amazing…

Coffee or tea with lunch? Which pants to wear to work? Which movie to watch? Your mind might be made up before you know it. Researchers have found patterns of brain activity that predict people's decisions up to 10 seconds before they're aware they've made a choice. In the 1980s, psychologist Benjamin Libet of the University of California, San Francisco, caught people's brains jumping the gun on consciousness. A few hundred milliseconds before a person thought he or she decided to press a button, brain areas related to movement were already active. The result was hard for some to stomach because it suggested that the unconscious brain calls the shots, making free will an…

Creation account - allows for an already existing Universe? 1 2 3

Just looking for some guidance in the Creation account: How would one explain the light of the first day of Creation when the Bible tells us that the sun and the moon and the stars appeared only on the fourth day of creation? Another query - the stars are known to be many light years away, which also mean that when they appeared, their light had to reach the earth instantly, not after many years (perhaps even millions or billions of years). I don't believe in the 'Gap Theory' and firmly believe that the 6 days of creation were 6 literal days. However, could the creation account allow for an already existing (but lifeless) Universe? Gen 1:2 says that the earth was…
