I asked this in another thread; but because the question was a bit off topic from the original post no provided any opinion or answer. In which Biblical time period do most Bible scholars (the good IFB ones) believe the dinosaurs existed? Was it Adam and Eve's days or just prior to Noah's flood? Have there been any human remains or fossils found near the dinosaurs fossils at the same geological strata?

I just saw this in an Answers From Genesis newsletter: Q: Did Jesus allow for a gap? A: If you carefully study the words of Jesus, He made it plain that there can?t be a gap of billions of years between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. In Mark 10:6, Jesus said, ?But from the beginning of creation God made them male and female.? In these very words, Jesus clearly teaches that Adam and Eve were created in ?the beginning of the creation??not after billions of years had passed. Also, the expression ?beginning of the creation? rules out any ?re-creation? or ?second start? as taught by many gap theorists. There is much more here: http://www.answersingenesis.org/creatio ... theory.a…

The Ordinances of Heaven Job 38:33, “Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth? An ordinance is an established law or rule. Astronomer and mathematician, Johannes Kepler 1571-1630, verified that the sun and the planets are governed by scientific laws, or ordinances. Johannes Kepler was a devout Christian. Kepler believed that God created the universe as the Bible says He did. Psalm 119: 90 & 91, “Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth. They continue this day according to thine ordinances: for all are thy servants.” All of the ordinances of the physical universe were estab…

HOW OLD IS THE EARTH? By Bill Sizemore February 20, 2009 NewsWithViews.com Many Christians are under the impression that if you believe the Bible, then you must believe that the earth is 6,000 years old. But is this so? Christians come to the 6,000 year conclusion, not based on something the Bible says about the age of the earth, but by tracking the biblical genealogies from Jesus back to Adam, which add up to about 4,000 years, and then adding in the 2,000 years from Christ until now. From a biblical perspective, this approach tells us approximately how long man has been around, but as we shall see, it does not necessarily tell us how long the earth has be…

Our public schools and even the media assume that evolution is fact, and not theory. I, for one, am tired of the innuendos and references to the "billions" of years that the process was supposed to have taken. I hope this "spoof" can be useful to someone in combating the dangerous and foolish teachings that are promoted in our society today, among young and old people alike. The Way it Was? Once upon a time, eons and eons ago, (no one knows how long ago it was), there was a mass of energy (no one knows where it came from) floating around in nothingness (no one knows where). After about a zillion years, it exploded and particles of this energy scattered throughout …

Genesis 1:28 KJV: And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. I have been asked by a Ruckmanite about this verse. I know that my father and i went round and round about this verse and the one word "replenish" in particular. If the "Gap Theory" isn't correct, then what is the resoning behind this particular word being used in the English (KJVO) translation?

I have a question that I hope someone here can help me with. Through the Gospel of Matthew along with the writings of Josephus and Tertullian we can place the birth of Jesus sometime between 7 - 2 B.C. He had to be born before Herod the Great died which many place in March of 4 B.C. Based on the above and known errors in the Gregorian calendar (which cannot be entirely and accurately quantified) I have come to the belief that Jesus was born some time in the fall of 2 B.C. and Herod died in 1 B.C. following a lunar eclipse (see Josephus), but I am not dogmatic on these dates. Here is the question. In Luke's account Jesus was born during a census decreed by Augustus dur…

This is a true story from my area... Recently, a group of college students from a nearby university volunteered to "help" at a nearby elementary school. Unbeknownst to the school's administration, the college students spent their time preaching evolution to the children. They even had an "altar call" when it was over...asking that if they (the elementary children) believed what they had just heard, to just raise their hands. Apparently all but one child was "saved" ... In other words, all but one child raised their hands to acknowledge that they believed in evolution. I'm not sure at this point what (if any) repercussions will…

I know Kent Hovind is mostly the big apologist for IFB's, but I wonder if you guys know some things about him... First, I want to say, I'm a born-again, Bible-believing, literal 6-day 6000 year old earth creationist, and I do have some respect for Mr.Hovind, but there are some things that you might want to know about what he's done and what he's said. Where I respect his intentions greatly, I most certainly DON'T appreciate or condone some of the things he's done. Allow me to explain... As a young earth creationist, Kent Hovind uses some questionable sciences--very questionable. Where he does present some truth to his arguments, there are plenty of times where he just…

The fossilised skull of a rat the size of a car has been unearthed. The creature lived about four million years ago, weighed about a tonne and ate mostly soft vegetation. It was so big that it probably spent much of its life semi-submerged in water, like a hippo, to reduce the stresses caused by its size. Palaeontologists found the skull in rock deposits in Uruguay. It is believed to date back two to four million years to a time when giant wildlife was commonplace in South America. The rodent, Josephoartigasia monesi, was uncovered by Andr

There've been alot of news that say human orginally came out of Africa.. Such as this: http://www.physorg.com/news122738126.htm Was Eden located in Africa? Or Was Adam and Eve sent to Africa after the fall of sin? There is another website- a website designed for christians who believe in old earth or things like that-says Eden was not in Africa: http://www.godandscience.org/apologetic ... frica.html Do you agree? I have no idea where Eden might be, but I guess alot of us don't

Well, it's been awhile. But I just returned from a trip in the southwest with my wife and I got a close look at some very interesting things I would like to share with my friends here on Online Baptist. First picture: Agate Springs, Nebraska (talk about the middle of nowhere? Wow). There is a great fossil bed there where in more than one place fossils of animals are found by the thousands buried together at high elevation. This picture was taken through the big picture window of the museum at Agate Springs while I was talking to the park service host. She gave me the usual evolutionary explanation that the animals died there after fighting over one of the few remain…

Hi everyone. Here's a link to probably the best site I've found online with scientific information from the creationist viewpoint. Most of the stuff is downloadable. The "Evolution Cruncher" is really nice. Enjoy! http://www.evolutionfacts.com/index.htm Bill

What does the Evolutionist say about Creation? What does it matter to us? When I come to studying the Bible I don’t really give a hoot what other people believe, be they Pope or be they Darwinian, in that, what others believe doesn’t change that which it true. So with that in mind lets have a brief look at The Day and Night of Genesis, and then a few thoughts on the topic to finish. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good…

Sea Serpents 1 2 3
by qwerty guy- 36 replies

I heard a theory about a year or two ago, I think from Hovind or Ham, that they found it funny that for hundreds of years, stories of sea serpents where common and accepted. Then, when ships started using loud engines, and no one saw them anymore, smarty pants people dismissed thousands of sighting as myth from "stupid" people of the past. The theory is that now they avoid ships because of the noise. Keeping this theory in mind, I've collected some past and modern accounts of sea serpents, including some of the latest discoveries of some huge and weird creatures in the last couple years. Did you know something doesn't exist until an egg head at an accredited universi…

Hi all! This topic isn't so much about arguing the merits of evolution versus creationism, but rather for me, an outsider (as a "believer" in evolution), to understand what it is exactly members of this forum believe about the theory of evolution. I appreciate any input and here are a list of suggested content to be discussed: what do you think evolution is? Why do you reject evolution? What do you think a theory is? What led you to be interested in this topic? Why do you think evolutionary theory is popular in biology? Can you define a "kind"? To what extent can a creature evolve if you believe it's possible? Why is there an extent to which a creature can evolve? And, o…

Creation account - allows for an already existing Universe? 1 2 3
by Guest Guest- 34 replies

Just looking for some guidance in the Creation account: How would one explain the light of the first day of Creation when the Bible tells us that the sun and the moon and the stars appeared only on the fourth day of creation? Another query - the stars are known to be many light years away, which also mean that when they appeared, their light had to reach the earth instantly, not after many years (perhaps even millions or billions of years). I don't believe in the 'Gap Theory' and firmly believe that the 6 days of creation were 6 literal days. However, could the creation account allow for an already existing (but lifeless) Universe? Gen 1:2 says that the earth was…

One of the most brilliant minds, if not THE most brilliant, in modern history, wrote these words... "This most beautiful System of the Sun, Planets and Comets, could only proceed from the counsel and dominion of an intelligent and powerful being ... He is Eternal and Infinite, Omnipotent and Omniscient; that is, his duration reaches from Eternity to Eternity; his presence from Infinity to Infinity; he governs all things, and knows all things that are or can be done." ~ Sir Issac Newton, General Scholium/Principia*(1729) Vol. 2, pp. 388-90 " The extraordinary mind and works of Sir Isaac Newton are, no doubt. part of the fullfillment of Daniel's prophecy: "But thou, O…
