Hello everyone. I apologize that I haven't been around for awhile, but I am reaching out because I have a question about movies like "Courageous". One of our youth leaders wants to play this movie and I feel that as Christians, we should avoid this type movie. There is a good message about fathers being a strong role model and the leader of the family, but there is some violent crime scenarios which include police chases, auto thefts with babies in the back seat etc, and I feel that as the elder of the church, we would be using our time at youth group reading and discussing from God's Precious Word. There is very little mentioned about the church and the Bible. Although the makers of this movie call themselves Baptist ( that use the NASB may I add), I still am feeling a pull from God not to be a part of it and maybe speak out about. If the parents of these youth chose to watch this movie at home with them, so be it, but I believe we could use the time more wisely by feeding on God's Word. What do you think?

I have tried not to think of God's absence I can't stand it. I have tried to deepen myself in his world but quite often I can't hold but feeling lonely, abandoned and rejected

Do you really believe God has forsaken you? I mean, really...You sound nothing like Christians that I have known in deep trials and tribulations, including several who were in prison in the USSR, and even in the death camps in Germany. The Bible tells us that God will NEVER leave us or forsake us if we're truly saved. -
My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish? My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, but I find no rest. I feel despised and rejected, abused and slandered, misunderstood and forgotten. I have been wondering why God seems to be doing nothing to protect and defend me. Does Jesus knows what i feel?

O Come, O Come, Emmanuel Latin chant Veni Emmanuel Translator J. M. Neale 1 O come, O come, Emmanuel, And ransom captive Israel, That mourns in lonely exile here Until the Son of God appear. CHORUS Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel. 2 O come, Thou Wisdom from on high, Who orderest all things mightily; To us the path of knowledge show, And teach us in her ways to go. CHORUS 3 O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free Thine own from Satan’s tyranny; From depths of hell Thy people save, And give them victory over the grave. CHORUS 4 O come, Thou Day-spring, come and cheer Our spirits by Thine advent here; Disperse the gloomy clouds of night, And death’s dark shadows put to flight. CHORUS 5 O come, Thou Key of David, come, And open wide our heavenly home; Make safe the way that leads on high, And close the path to misery. CHORUS 6 O come, O come, great Lord of might, Who to Thy tribes on Sinai’s height In ancient times once gave the law In cloud and majesty and awe. CHORUS 7 O come, Thou Root of Jesse’s tree, An ensign of Thy people be; Before Thee rulers silent fall; All peoples on Thy mercy call. CHORUS 8 O come, Desire of nations, bind in one the hearts of all mankind; bid thou our sad divisions cease, and be thyself our King of Peace. CHORUS
