The Seventy Weeks of Daniel 9 - When do they Begin and End? CHAPTER 14 1922 By Philip Mauro The Romance of Bible Chronology Some questions of deepest interest arise in connection with the period covered by our last chronological table; but they are question of interpretation of Scripture, rather than questions of chronology. All expositors are agreed (so far as we are aware) that the message brought by Gabriel to Daniel gives the measure of years, from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem, unto the Messiah, the Prince, as sixtynine sevens of years, that is, 483 years. But there is much difference of opinion as to, firsit, which decree…

Granted, there are portions of prophecy that are "symbolic and allegorical"; however, those portions are symbolic and allegorical of things that will actually happen. Some refer to this as "apocalyptic language". There are those who believe that all prophecy was fulfilled in 70 A.D.; therefore, any prophetic references that don't fit into that time frame are symbolic and allegorical only; therefore, they should only be interpreted as "symbolic". However, why does that viewpoint not include what happened in 70 A.D.? Well, we can look back and see what happened in 70 A.D. Obviously, parts of Jesus' prophecy came true then; such as, not one stone from the temple would b…

6 Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the Lord: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the Lord. 7 Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon. —Zechariah 2:6–7 KJV Zechariah 2:6 tells the Jews to come home from the north. About 1,250,000 Russian Jews have gone home to Israel since 1948. Israel now has a population of between 5,500,000 and 6,000,000 Jewish people. Close to 23% of Israel’s population has come from the Russian north since 1948. My mother paid for several Russian Jews’ passage home to Israel. This Bible passage is written for our time! How did Zechariah know there would be a …

Jer 30:7 Alas! for that day [is] great, so that none [is] like it: it [is] even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it. Jacob's trouble is often taught as a feature of the yet future tribulation, when Israel will suffer for the purpose of salvation. Is the trouble in the time of Esther the proper fulfilment of that prophecy? Est 3:13 And the letters were sent by posts into all the king's provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, [even] upon the thirteenth [day] of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and [to take] the spoil of them for a prey. E…

War in Heaven Read these in the King James Bible. When Man sinned we lost dominion of earth and it went to the devil. In the middle of the tribulation period God will take ownership of earth back. Jesus will not come down to rule on earth till after the tribulation. Revelation 11:15 KJV The kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our Lord and his Christ because Revelation 12:7-12 the devil and his bad angels are defeated in war and cast to the earth. Isaiah 24:21-22 Isaiah explains that God will use the earth as a prison for the devil and the rebellious people for a short time or the last half of the 7year tribulation. War in Heaven Revelation 11:15 KJV 15 …

Camping is truly "off his rocker" because the Word of God clearly teaches us that no one knows the date of Jesus' return. If Camping could figure it out using mathematical equations then he would therefore "know" thus making Jesus wrong. Camping has failed in his predictions many times in the past and it's obvious that he will do so again. Jesus does not want us to pack our bags now, He wants us to keep busy until He comes. God Bless!

Morality was apply within only a particular tribe’s agreements, and the rightness of action on its collective mood towards addressing other groups, it’s individuated and localized to only particular groupings, and really should have reality within the attendant cultural paradigms who agree with it. But the Israelites had a specific worldview, and they imposed that worldview; that radical new world view was monotheism. The eating off this tree of knowledge of good and bad has caused a moral conflict and tension between Yahweh’s good design for creation. The drama of humanity’s life should revolve not around the search for eternal life, nor preoccupation with immortality; i…

I do not see in prophecy, where America is mentioned. Many people I know have said that we will not be going through the Tribulation because God will not call his people to wrath. Yes, but, what if God allows American to be destroyed. Nothing says that she must survive. What are your thoughts? Is America on the way out?

God created Man. He gave them (Adam and Eve) a covenant with him. They rejected God and their covenant with him. Men then got to be wicked and evil. God destroyed them by flood. Saved Noah and his family and gave them a covenant with him. Noah's family became many and they got to be wicked and evil. They rejected God and their covenant with him. Then God scattered them all over the Earth. God made a nation for himself called Israel. Gave them a covenant with him. They got to be wicked and evil. They rejected God and their covenant with him. God sent Jesus his Son. Gave them a new covenant. They rejected God and killed Jesus. God then took t…

Rick Schworer's post made me think about this topic. Is the Marriage Supper really a supper - as in eat, chew, swallow, physical food? Or, as we are spiritually the Bride of Christ, is it a spiritual supper? Jesus calls Himself the Bread of Life... might it be a time of fellowship & rejoicing in His presence? What do y'all think?

I believe media is used to condition people into accepting things they normally would think were crazy. For years now New agers have been getting messages from Spirit guides that a mass alien abduction is going to take place soon on planet Earth. Those who believe the bible know that these are demons deceiving the masses. Satan is conditioning people to believe in Alien adduction when the rapture occurs. A friend of mine brought my attention to this http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1810147516/video/21429215/20100816/94/21429215-700-flash-s.112757933-,21429215-1000-wMV-s.112757951-,21429215-100-flash-s.112757929-,21429215-700-wMV-s.112757945-,21429215-300-flash-s.112757931-…

I am a Pre-Tribber but have a few questions that question the pre-trib view. In 1 Cor. 15:52 it reads: In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. Then in Rev. 11:15 it reads: And the seventh angel sounded (7th or Last Trumpet); and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. In 1 Cor. 15:52 Paul speaks of the Last Trumpet being blown, then in Rev. 11:15 there is another Last Trumpet being blown. In Rev. 11:15 the Last Trumpet being blown…

Why do you suppose that people continue such false "prophets" as Hal Lendsey? These individuals continue to make "predictions" which are obviously false. When they fail, these individuals simply change their dates and have the same people fall right back into line. Why?

On another thread, I posted The answer was However this seemed to be a rhetorical question as the poster then locked the thread without waiting for an answer. However, here goes. Q. Who is the Lord Jesus addressing? A. The same people he was addressing in Matthew 23, That generation of Jews. Those who filled up the measure of their fathers, by crucifying their messiah. It was because of this that the days of vengeance came upon them. Isaiah 61:2. Luke 21:22. Q. Who is Paul addressing in 1 Thess. 4? A. Believers, ie the church as are all the letters and Revelation.

Let's read Daniel 2:41-43: [41] And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be init of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the ironmixed with miry clay. [42] And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. [43] And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave oneto another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. I, like you, have long thought this was the New Roman Empire that is emerging before our eyes, and it could…

Okay yes I know I'm retarded haha but I'm reading a Jerry B. Jenkins book. Yep I'm bored. Anyway I know that most IFB teach that the Catholics will be the one-world religion (because of the seven hills, in Rome) until the antichrist nixes that halfway through the tribulation. (For sake of argument please lets not change this into any of the other mid trib or etc discussion.) My logic does NOT understand how Catholics will be the one world religion, because as it is, they are becoming rather hated. However I don't really agree with those who will give it to the Muslims, either. Okay in Jenkins' books, it seems that he sort of teaches that before the Trib, religion…

There is a verse in 2 Thessalonians that is very interesting regarding an unnamed, "he," that letteth, (withholds) the power of the enemy until "he" be taken out of the way. 2 Thess. 2 [7] For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. [8] And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: In light of premillenial eschatology, most say this is the holy spirit, or the church. However, there are some who say it could be angels. I've heard this before and it has some merit. It is based on the fact that…

There was another thread about visions and dreams, but it's old, so here are my two cents' here: I do think that visions and dreams still exist, but...... The question is, what importance do we actually place on them. Seeing as God's Word is now complete ('that which is perfect is come', 1 Cor. 13), then we don't need to base our beliefs on dreams and visions or more supposed revelation, seeing as God has already fully revealed the Scriptures. (I have dreams and maybe even visions - sometimes I'm don't know if I'm awake or asleep, but the Bible believer is entitled to say about my dreams and visions: "So, what?") Blessings.

Here it is: "Perhaps today" 'Perhaps today, from every clime and nation Shall souls redeemed ascend to meet their Lord. To suffering ones, great, glad emancipation, To those who toil for Him, a sure reward. We look not down a track of unknown years, It may be that today our Lord appears.' ....... (Not sure who wrote it.)

I read this during morning devotions. I believe it refers to the 1000 Yr. reign. Jeremiah 12:14-17 14 Thus saith the LORD against all mine evil neighbours, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit; Behold, I will pluck them out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them. 15 And it shall come to pass, after that I have plucked them out I will return, and have compassion on them, and will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land. 16 And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, The LORD liveth; as they taught my people to swear by…
