While I have not been able to get out much in the last month, I watched a number of YouTube videos of how to play hymns on various instruments. One site played and sang hymns on various instruments and invited you to join in and play with them. You could also download the music with a melody line and chords. I didn't like a lot of the hymns they had. But you could choose which you watched and downloaded. One instrument they used was the Autoharp. Well I have an Autoharp which I have hardly got out for about 20 years but watching those videos encouraged me to get it out and have a play. I bought a new electronic tuner and tuned it up and played some of their downloa…

Many, many years ago I came across "The C.H. Spurgeon Collection" for a super bargain basement price - so I grabbed it. Now I am not a huge Spurgeon fan, but I can appreciate his body of work. When we upgraded the church computer, we went to a 64bit system, and it seems as though no matter what I do, the Ages software will not load. I have downloaded the PDF's from the disk (that is the storage format), but the beauty of the software is that it gives a great index system. I can print the index, but then have to go and find the individual PDF files - painful...…. (21st century problems hey?! ?) So, any of you pooter gurus know of any way to get t…

I had been using Firefox for quite sometime, but that a bit of trouble and downloaded the new IE 7. After using it for a while I wanted to go back to Firefox, but could never get it to load a page while clicking on a link in an e-mail. With IE& as my default browser it will load, but when I change and make Firefox my default browser it want load for a link in Outlook Express. I still like the Firefox best, it seems to load web pages faster, but due to it not loading pages when I click on them in Outlook Express I'm not using it.

I have never owned nothing but Windows XP home, buying my first computer in August 2002, them nearly 2 years later buying this one alos with XP Home. I have never had no major problems, except the problem of messing my first computer up many times while learning how to use it. Here is an article on the new OS. http://blogs.pcworld.com/techlog/archives/001513.html What OS do you all use? Seems to me the new OS's may well be very confusing.

No, I'm not talking about a criminal rodent in the Big House! I have an optical mouse. Sometimes, like every few days or once a week or so, when I go to get back on my computer after I have been away for a while, the mouse won't respond. I have to unplug the mouse and replug it in before it will work. Any ideas what is causing this and if there is a remedy, or do I just have to deal with it?

Some months ago, I spilt a cup of coffee over my other (newer) laptop. The lid was closed but the PC died straight away. I stood it on end and about 24 hrs later I tried it again and it worked for about 30 minutes then just died again, I tried a number of times over that period but it did not work. Also tried my local repair man from time to time, but couldn't contact him This evening I plugged it in and it booted up. It seemed to work but was very slow. I have left it charging in the other room. It may peck up later. All my files are on it which I thought I had lost, I will have to back them up.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,412161,00.html This makes me so mad. I have had two close friends within the past two months discover porn and porn videos on their husbands' computers. For Microsoft to come out with a browser that actually hides porn from everyone is even worse. Now, people can sin without worrying that anyone has to find out. Its absolutely pathetic. I will not download IE8 that's for sure.

Years have passed since my first adventure into Linux operating systems. I started out with Ubuntu. As my knowledge of Linux grew, I delved into other "Ubuntu-based" operating systems. That led me to Debian...which required a trifle bit more user-experience in order to make things work. In turn, I then went on to use even more "user-experienced" Linux operating systems...from Slackware, BSD's, Arch, and I also tried a brief stint with Gentoo (which makes Arch look like a wannabe). As my knowledge grew, I built and made available Ubuntu and Debian-based systems for others to use. It's been a grand adventure! All of that to say this... I'm back to Ubuntu, and…

Windows 8: Hate It Already? Why Waiting for Windows 9 Won't Help I had though deeply about going with the cheap upgrade to Windows 8. Yet from what I read that would not be an improvement to Windows 7. Perhaps if I ran around with one of those little computer things held to my face all the time Windows 8 might be welcomed, but the only thing I use is this desktop.

I noticed that Wal-Mart now has a place to drop off your old ink cartridges. What do they do with them? Make money off of them? I only use black ink in my printer, I always buy ink to refill mine, for it save much money, ink cartridges are a complete rip off. So when I buy a new one, my old one is well used. Plus it seem to me printers try as much as possible to get you to change ink cartridges before they are even empty. I've got a Lexmart X5150.

I need a good (free) Bible application for my phone (preferably with KJV pre-installed or at least available as an add-on). My phone runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and it has a VGA screen (some older applications are built for QVGA and don't look right on VGA). I've tried eSword, but the fonts are just way too big even on the smallest setting. Any suggestions?
