So I was really bored and decided to download the free Firefox web browser. Hmm.... it really IS a bit faster than IE6. Why is that? Is it any safer? I read an article that there is a real bad security flaw in IE and supposedly Microsoft is trying to fix a patch for it before hackers can get in. So I was reading about it and someone was talking about Firefox being more secure so decided to try it out. Is it just a web browser or do they also have an operating system?

Here not long back, when a Windows update downloaded to my computer it caused trouble with my Outlook Express and my Works programs. I spoke with a friend, he says he got Windows XP when it first came out, he never lets Microsoft update it and he never had trouble. I asked him, "You never have downloaded any Windows updates?" He answer was "No, never." I wonder, do y'all let Microsoft update your computers or not?

Game Design

I would like to design a computer game, something like an empire builder where you build plenty of cities or something. I hope to use this chance to improve my (poor) programming skills. No doubt it's a huge project, but I'm going to make the game turn-based to make things much easier. What program should I use to design the game?

Anyone try it yet? I have not but I will soon. I see that they did add some of the same security features that IE7 uses like built in Phishing Protection.

I am SO sick of my computer connection bogging down and my phone being unclear. We have Comcast cable modem and also Vonage phone service. In addition, we have a Linksys wireless-6 broadband router for dh's laptop. It reaches to the church (barely) so he can use our connection over there. So that's a total of three routers, basically, that our stuff is going through. Lately my connection has been really dragging and its frustrating. Anyone know of some ways we can get this connection moving a bit faster? Any higher quality stuff we should buy, or...?

I have a DVD-ROM and a CD/DVD writer... I have a DVD my bro made for a school project and I want to load it onto my hard drive but it won't let me. How can I find out if he did something to it to where you can't copy any of the files?

Church Logo? 1 2
by Anon- 25 replies

My husband is thinking about getting our church sign redone, and we really don't have a logo on any of our church stuff and he is wanting me to see what I can come up with. I'm ok with coming up with colorful graphics or artwork (not a pro, but I get by) but I have no clue how I could come up with an attractive logo that fits our church, that could be printed in any color (or possibly two colors, I guess). Any tips? Ideas? Our church name is Grace Independent Baptist Church and I think he is going to put "An Old Fashioned Church for All Ages" or something on it. The website is www.graceindependentbaptist.org and I suppose I should put whatever logo I come up with t…

so its a bit cheesy, but this Firefox extension and theme are kinda cute (in teh wwjd tee shirt type way). The verses are NASB (at least the first few were). The verses are in an array int eh code and could technically be changed to KJV. I contacted the author about changing the code to allow versioning, but have not heard back. Thought someone might like it.

I set up a relative's brand new computer (which includes taking it out of the box) and then set up DSL for them. It was my fourth time setting up DSL (and wireless DSL) and it took me about six hours because the computer wouldn't accept the CD, I installed spybot and ran Norton Virus protection once. I called Verizon about three times. Should it have taken me six hours? I spent a little bit of time talking to the owners of the computer and asking them their preferences (setting up email and Outlook Express). The time also included moving the computer and retesting it.

Is it even worth buying a new computer? According to this article, Thumb Drives are going to sell in 8GB capacities by the end of the year: http://www.techworld.com/storage/featur ... agtype=all Thumb drive capacities are probably going to double and have 16 GB by next year. Currently, a 1 GB thumb drive sells for about $25 on sale or with a rebate. I've seen 256 MB Sandisk on sale with rebates for about $5. I've also seen 512 MB for around $15 with rebates. I don't know whether larger thumb drives may mean new connectors and new technology. I've read that we're going to be looking at modular computing where you might be able to turn on a computer with a thumb…

Question... does anybody know... In it's page ranking methods does google treat a forwarding domain as strongly as the "original" domain? And what about subdomains? As far as google ranking... Discuss these two options (assuming content is same): A. New domain pointing to a new hosting (new web space) or B. New domain forwarding to a subdomain of an existing site.

Is there anyone that could tell me how to make a banner web ad? I have listed my business - King's Cards - KJV Greeting Cards on quite a few Independent Fundamental Baptist websites and most of them allow for a free banner ad. I have Microsoft Publisher. Am I able to make one using this program or do I need a special program? If I need a special program, are there any shareware programs out there? Thanks for your help! In Christ, Robin

I am not even sure if that is what it's called. I have a program called Studio 9 (had the studio 7 also) it makes home videos on your PC. I never had an actual video camera until just a few months ago (yeah, I know) so I have made some movies with stills and made a mission presentation, ... What if my PC does not have fire wire? What can I do to get these videos on a disk? Thanks and God bless.

The last time I bought an anti-virus, I bought McAfee, but I will never do this again, one reason is this note I got from them below. And all I run is Firefox, I had no idea they did not support Firefox until yesterday and I have been running it since February 2006. <> Also McAfee will not let you run it on 2 computers, for instance, I still have my old computer, it is in the back bedroom, I use it only if I have a problem with this one, maybe 10 % of the time thru the year, I have had 3 other anti-virus, I did not have this problem with them. I will go back to Norton's and or Computer Associates know as EZtrust which I had last time, I never had one problem w…

I have never owned nothing but Windows XP home, buying my first computer in August 2002, them nearly 2 years later buying this one alos with XP Home. I have never had no major problems, except the problem of messing my first computer up many times while learning how to use it. Here is an article on the new OS. http://blogs.pcworld.com/techlog/archives/001513.html What OS do you all use? Seems to me the new OS's may well be very confusing.

For those that don't know what VIA is, they are the worlds largest independent motherboard chipset manufacturor. They also produce low-heat, low-power processors. If you have an AMD based computer, there's a good chance that your chipset is VIA based. They also make video cards (holding 10% of the market), mobile processors, sound cards, networking cards, etc... And: their two top executives are born-again believers (and aren't shy about it). The Chairman, Cher Wang, says "For me, the Bible is the best book about management practice." The CEO/President, Wen-Chi Chen, says that VIA is "Gods Company". He was led to Christ by (get this), VIAs chairman (Cher Wang). He wa…
