So let's put our silly poetry here. I will begin with a heartwarming poem my father penned, many years ago. "Ode to a Grilled Cheese Sandwich" A belly full of food ,Worth a Kingdom, if I had one to spare But I haven't an extra kingdom, so I'll pay my equal share For a Cheese Sandwich, Grilled, Golden brown and Delicious With a Slice of Pickle; Green, Warty and Nutritous.

I Was There I was there when this little baby girl was born. I saw that her mommy and daddy didn't really want her because they wanted a boy. The little girl was ever so lonesome knowing somehow that she didn't make her parents happy. She sat on the meat-market steps and watched the cars go by on the highway. She tossed pebbles and played catch alone with a little rubber football. As I watched, I saw an elderly gentleman come along. There were few words exchanged between the little girl and man, but somehow a lot was said as the man took the time to play catch with the little girl. She was like a shy little fawn, quiet, and never wanting to cause trouble for any…

I Saw God by William Leroy Stidger I saw God bare his soul one day Where all the earth might see The stark and naked heart of him On lonely Calvary. There was a crimson sky of blood And overhead a storm; When lightning slit the clouds And light engulfed his form. Beyond the storm a rainbow lent A light to every clod, And on that cross mine eyes beheld The naked soul of God.

I wrote this "letter" to my sons for Father's Day...with a genuine heart, I hope it is a blessing of God's grace and mercy to any readers of it! ****** My dearest sons... Yes, tis me yet again...the blessed Spirit has prodded me to share with you once more. I've said most everything already in the past, but just wanted to reiterate because my heart is full with it. You are each one wonderful dads, and unique in your own way with your sons. I have a lot of respect for the love that you have for them. My precious, precious grandsons! My son's sons! I'm so proud of all of you, and pray continually for you. My pride and my joy! What can I say more? I'm ve…

All four of our children have served in our Armed Forces (and two of them still serve). As each one of them walked out of the door of our home headed for boot camp...I handed them a personal letter that I'd written to them...to read as they flew across the country. The following is a copy of the last letter that I wrote...to our oldest son. It was so very difficult for this momma to watch her "babes" go off and far away from home with the potential of being put in harm's way. Indeed, we endured thru seven or eight deployments between them. I found this copy folded and placed in a little Bible that I had tucked away in a drawer. ***** Son... I never dr…

Don't leave Him in the manger And adore him there on Christmas morn. Don't leave Him on the cross And mourn what He was born to do. Don't leave Him sitting at the right Hand of God And pay lip service for what He has promised to do. For one day He will return in the clouds And every eye shall see him, every knee shall bow For one day He will slay death with a sword And wipe away all tears and pain For one day He will sit on David's throne And we will reign with him there forevermore. --Cindyt

This was originally written in 2008 when my youngest son was deployed to the Middle East. His family stayed with us for the 18 months that he was gone. I just found it in my binder and re-wrote it, and so I hope it is a blessing to others. Springtime Today is a beautiful day. The sky is blue and there is nary a cloud in sight. I'm sure the sun will shine a nearly perfect temperature on us again. I do love springtime! I love how bright green the new grasses are, and I love to daily watch as new leaves first bud on the trees, and then as the days go by they begin to unfold. Pretty soon they are clapping their hands, and waving to us in the breeze. My bright red…

I posted this a few years ago in the former lady's forum before it moved over to here. We have lost 2 of our own precious little ones and our granddaughter, and it's very comforting to know that they are with our dear Saviour in glory. ***** Precious Little One There was something that fell so short...when my whispered words of love to her went unheard since death had stolen her away...I know I kissed her and I had the taste of her upon my lips...and I took it in and savored it.... It is obvious by their soft little foot imprints in the snow, that little snowbirds and snow bunnies are watching out for our little Kate's resting place. …

Life and Death Before I lived I did not wish for life; yet now that I live I do not wish for death. Yet both come unbidden and sudden. As I wait for sleep, I toss and turn with the realization: I am alive and will cease to be. Death will come upon me just as it has to all life before me. What does death have in store for me? Before I lived I had no thought of such things. There was no fear for there was no me... that I can recall. Will it be as it was before? Before life. Before me. Before my existence in this life? Will death restore me to the state I was in before life? Or is death just a stepping stone to another new life? Is death only the removal of my livi…

Anticipation This morning I sat and wept as I shared with my husband some things that the Lord had brought to my mind. Mention was briefly made in an article I'd been reading, about the Gospel story of Mary sitting at the feet of Jesus. Even before I finished reading it, I knew the stirring of the Spirit giving rise to many new thoughts. Mary sat at the level of Jesus' feet and looked intently into His blessed face anticipating His every word. Zacchaeus of such short stature sought to see Jesus, and so ran to climb a sycamore tree to try to at least catch a glimpse of Him through the throngs of people. Imagine the mind of the woman with the infirmity as she pushed through…

Long, long ago when I took college entrance exams, I scored "bonehead" level on the English portion. Throughout my high school years, English consisted of an "experimental" curriculum that majored on literature while grammar and writing skills were excluded. The last time I had any sentence structure education was for a time when I was in the 6th grade! That's sad! I suppose one benefit of reading literature though was that it familiarized me with Old English which in turn made the KJV very simple to read. Years later after I'd homeschooled our 4 kids with a Christian curriculum (I was a stay-at-home mom), I took the entrance exams again....and scored the level for Englis…

My Mean Mom Boy, I've got the meanest mom in the whole wide world. She always makes me clean my room, and 'specially when I just get through playing in it. She says it's because God's not the author of confusion, and that He might not be so pleased or comfortable wading through a messy room. She also said it's cuz it really all belongs to Him anyhow, and so I should take care of what He's been kind enough to share with me. My mom really is mean; why, the other day, she got upset just cuz I walked through every room of the house with muddy shoes. You know what she made me do? She made ME sweep and mop it up! She said that famous line of hers, "If you make a mess, clean it …
