Procrastination takes tact, And a lot of thought, One must be careful, Not to get caught! It may start with a cough, Or a quiet groan, Or even an hour or so On the telephone. A “busy day” Is the chant of the man Who tries to get out of All that he can! He spends his time thinking Of ways to get out, Of the chores at hand, And others, no doubt. But it takes an artist, To perfect the game; One with experience And an ill-fame. One who “knows the ropes” And pulls the right strings; Gets his jollies when he Gets out of doing things! Yes, procrastination is an art, And I am an artist supreme; A list of excuses a mile long With a smile,…

A friend of mine got married last fall and I wrote it for her as a wedding gift.I'd love to know what you all think of it.And honest opinions please!!(I've already gotten painful honesty from my dad so what ya'll say couldn't be any worse lol!) May your love forever flourish As the shape of the ring never ends But when it does chip or tarnish Turn to the healing power of the Lord that forgives every sin Repair disagreements that pain Polish away tarnish and stains And through each chip, pain, and hurt Comes a strength that will keep you 'til death do you part. So,whadya think :?:

"Tomorrow morning", the surgeon began, "I'll open up your heart..." "You'll find Jesus there", the boy interrupted. The surgeon looked up, annoyed. "I'll cut your heart open", he continued, "to see how much damage has been done..." "But when you open up my heart, you'll find Jesus in there", said the boy. The surgeon looked to the parents who sat quietly. "When I see how much damage has been done, I'll sew your heart and chest back up, and I'll plan what to do next." "But you'll find Jesus in my heart. The Bible says He lives there. The hymns all say He lives there. You'll find Him in my heart." The surgeon had had enough. "I'll tell you what I'll find…

But We See Jesus "I don't look back, God knows the fruitless efforts, The wasted hours, the sinning, the regrets, I leave them all with Him who blots the record, And mercifully forgives, and then forgets. I don't look forward, God sees all the future, The road that, short or long, will lead me home, And He will face with me its every trial, And bear for me the burdens that may come. But I look up - into the face of Jesus, For there my heart can rest, my fears are stilled, And there is joy, and love, and light for darkness, And perfect peace, and every hope fulfilled." ~Annie Johnson Flint~

The Shadows Flee Away I am waiting, hoping, praying, for the coming of that day When the Lord shall come from Heaven, and the shadows flee away. There is darkness looming around me, and the fears and doubts dismay But the Morning Star lights up the gloom, and the shadows flee away. When I feel I cannot go on, and my prayers fade away, The Lord lifts me from my despair, and the shadows flee away. Walking through the fire and the flood, the Lord holds the night at bay My hope is renewed, my Saviour comes, and the shadows flee away. God's promises light up my heart, and I find strength for this day, Comfort comes from my Beloved, and the s…

Numbers In The Bible Series 37 - The Seven Depictions Of Christ In Revelation Day 37 - The Seven Depictions of Christ in Revelation Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. (Revelation 3:20) I find the studies on the number seven to have been my biggest blessing thus far. I was looking at the seven churches in Revelation and reflected on how each referenced "saith he" and just who that "he" was. We all know that He is Christ. However, the characteristics used to depict Christ are awesome! 1. Jesus holds His messengers in His right hand and w…

We need to make sure that we don't get so caught up in defending the faith that we forget to show Jesus through our lives and our words. Let's make sure with share the Gospel with others! You can debate doctrine forever with a lost person - show them how to get saved (through faith in Jesus Christ and His shed blood), and get them in the Bible. The rest will come as they grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour. Let's Tell The World About Jesus The light is shining in the darkness, but can this lost world see? Can they see the glorious light of Jesus Christ shining through me? We are the light of this dark world, but is our l…

I feel a little rusty! This is the first poem I've written since December or January... Footsteps Of Faith Order my footsteps in Your Word - Teach me where You'd have me to go. Make me willing to walk in Your ways - Lead me onward in this path below. Enlarge my footsteps, let not my feet slip - Help me to walk in Your ways with care. Guide me through the straits of this world - "Let me not falter", is my earnest prayer. Number my footsteps, and count them all - Show me the path my spirit has trod. Open my eyes and cleanse my heart - Lead me onward in the ways of God. Direct me in my Saviour's footsteps - Teach me with patien…

My 16 year old son wrote this. I thought you might like it. Jesus Who will stand for you? Jesus if you ask him to. He is standing with his arms open wide- If you will but just step to his side. He will make your life as good as new- He will make a better you. The world will always stand in fear- They do not know he is so dear. If they would but take the chance- They would find he is worth more than just a glance. He will always be there for us- He once fell to the dust. He carried the cross- He hung on the tree. He made a way for you and me. If we will but take hold- We will find we need not gold. If we follow him always- We will find bette…

Himself Once it was the blessing, now it is the Lord; Once it was the feeling, now it is His Word; Once His gifts I wanted, now the Giver own; Once I sought for healing, now Himself alone. Once 'twas painful trying, now 'tis perfect trust; Once a half salvation, now the uttermost; Once 'twas ceaseless holding, now He holds me fast; Once 'twas constant drifting, now my anchor's cast. Once 'twas busy planning, now 'tis trustful prayer; Once 'twas anxious caring, now He has the care; Once 'twas what I wanted, now what Jesus says; Once 'twas constant asking, now 'tis ceaseless praise. Once it was my working, His it hence shall be; Once I tried t…

6/27/2003 Where Momma Is Whenever I felt lost without a clue Or just down and very blue. I could always go Home where Momma was. When I needed wisdom beyond my years Or someone to dry my bitter tears I could always go Home where Momma was When I just needed a place to rest Where I knew that I would always be blest I could always go Home where Momma was. Now, Momma has been touched by death's cold hand And I am so grieved that I can barely stand At that familiar door to the Home where Momma was. Yet in my heart I can hear her voice Telling me that I should rejoice For things are so very grand at Home where Momma is. There will come a day when I…

Start Doing Harry Todd He that goes forth weeping, Bearing precious seed. Shall doubtless come rejoicing, Bringing sheaves indeed. But too many Christians Are standing idle today, Telling others to take it easy Instead of telling them “The Way.” Christ commands us, “Go,” And the rich man in hell Still echoes, “I have five brethren, Won’t someone go and tell!” James said be not only hearers, But be ye doers too, You’ve heard many times, When are you going to do? We are saved to serve; There is a job to do, A few are serving Christ, What excuse have you? Christ is coming soon, To catch His bride away, Now i…

I mailed a prayer to Heaven I hope God can read it soon It passed the rings of Jupiter Around the crescent of the moon. It went right through the black hole itself, As it passed the Milky Way Across the heavens to the other side Where all our loved ones stay. It climbed the steps to Heaven Crossed the rainbow in the sky It will lie there at the Saviors feet With an angel as its guide. It

Eagle Wings Eagle wings, sturdy strong. Shaking, I'm curled tightly where I belong - So close! Your feathers brush against my hair - Protected; I see life everywhere rush by, not at an unusual pace. Why do I wince? Here, Your Peace surrounds a place where I can rest, assured...yet still cry - Amazing, Your care! With wing You have captured each sigh that has leaked from my soul when I've forgotten my way, yet you know dependence is seeded here under Your wings. Lord, here is where I want to start. Or end, completed... please, renew my heart. Eagle wings, sturdy and strong yes, I'm curled tightly beneath them - this is where I belon…

Don't leave Him in the manger And adore him there on Christmas morn. Don't leave Him on the cross And mourn what He was born to do. Don't leave Him sitting at the right Hand of God And pay lip service for what He has promised to do. For one day He will return in the clouds And every eye shall see him, every knee shall bow For one day He will slay death with a sword And wipe away all tears and pain For one day He will sit on David's throne And we will reign with him there forevermore. --Cindyt

Dear Any Godly Pastor Dear Pastor... I am old enough to be your mom! However! I'm NOT too old and I don't have so much more experience in life that I cannot continue to learn. What a blessing it is to hear the instruction of the Word. I have not grown so strong, so knowledgeable, or so wise that I no longer need comfort, encouragement, edification, exhortation, admonition, reproof, rebuke, and correction in righteousness. You see - it never gets old or tiresome to hear the Word with listening ears, ready to receive with an open heart, a message that the Lord has filled your heart with to preach. I sincerely believe that every Spirit-filled message is …

Wanted to share this. It's not completly edited, but it needs prayer. The storyline revolves around a Grandmother's home and the various family members who have spent time there. It's an honest Christian approach to coming to terms with multiple issues, such as unexpected death, healing, and discovering that God is no further than an open Bible and prayer. Rated "G' naturally, I gotta answer to someone else besides an inquisative child who gives me honest imput, and demands an inclusion of dogs in the storytelling. Comments would be nice, but prayers best as I shift the focus to gleam from a mountain of responsible research materials, trusting in heroes from Hebrews 11. …

These were a blessing to me today. Psalm 8. God's sovereignty and goodness; and man's dominion over the creatures. O Lord, our heav'nly King, Thy name is all divine; Thy glories round the earth are spread, And o'er the heav'ns they shine. When to thy works on high I raise my wondering eyes, And see the moon, complete in light, Adorn the darksome skies When I survey the stars, And all their shining forms, Lord, what is man, that worthless thing, Akin to dust and worms? Lord, what is worthless man, That thou shouldst love him so? Next to thine angels is he placed, And lord of all below. Thine honors crown his head, While beast…
