You are walking down a path it is called the path of life. Bad things happen and with God's help life goes on. People hurt people with words and actions. Don't let people be your main focus let God be. As life goes on. Forgive people only when they ask for forgiveness. People can find that hard even with God But life goes on. People come and people go from your life. Only the ones who truly care stick around. God truly cares so give him yourself Walk the path he has planned for you. Life goes on.

Mysterious Death He lies on a bed, on the edge of death; the malady came upon him very suddenly, it gripped his heart, and there is no cure known to mortal man. He and I grew up together, soul mates, and yet, there is nothing I can do to help him. He is given only hours to live. The doctors are mystified, his family is terrified, his friends, horrified at the sight of him lying there so helpless, in the clutches of deaths’ grip. It seems that all hope is lost. What was this mystery disease? Was it a virus? Maybe a neurological problem? A parasite? Whatever it is, it is definitely fast, spreading throughout his system like wildfire, and burning like a fire…

Numbers In The Bible Series 57 - Turning Bitter Waters To Sweet Day 57 - Turning Bitter Waters To Sweet Exodus 15:22-26 So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water. And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah. And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink? And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and …

My Hiding Place Hail, sovereign love, which first began; The scheme to rescue fallen man! Hail, matchless, free, eternal grace, Which gave my soul a hiding place. Against the GOD that built the sky I fought with hands uplifted high, Despised the mention of His grace, Too proud to seek a hiding place. Enwrapt in thick Egyptian night, And fond of darkness more than light, Madly I ran the sinful race, Secure - without a hiding place! But thus the eternal counsel ran; Almighty love, arrest that man! I felt the arrows of distress, And found I had no hiding place. Indignant justice stood in view; To Sinai's fiery mount I flew; But justice cri…

Numbers In The Bible Series 58 - Fivefold Trust Day 58 - Five-Fold Trust How many times have we heard the statement, "Trust in Christ as your Saviour"? There is only One that you can trust explicitly and totally for all things in your spiritual life as well as your physical life. I find it interesting that there are five occurrences of the phrase I will trust in the Word of God. The number five symbolizes God's grace. There is no greater grace than that given to us at the Cross of Cavalry. When we trust Christ as our Saviour, we receive that grace of God in our lives. Noah Webster defines this grace as: Appropriately, the free unmerited love and favor of G…

Numbers In The Bible Series 59 - The God Of Second Chances Day 59 - The God Of Second Chances This is the story of a young man that failed the Lord miserably, and was later given a second chance. In Acts 12, the apostle James was captured and beheaded by king Herod, and Peter was also imprisoned, facing a similar fate within a matter of days. But the Lord had other plans. He sent an angel to release Peter from prison, and Peter went to the house where the early church was having a prayer meeting on his behalf: Acts 12:12 And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were…

Lessons In The Valley "I have been through the valley of weeping, The valley of sorrow and pain; But the 'God of all comfort' was with me, At hand to uphold and sustain. "As the earth needs the clouds and sunshine, Our souls need both sorrow and joy; So He places us oft in the furnace, The dross from the gold to destroy. "When He leads thro' some valley of trouble His omnipotent hand we trace; For the trials and sorrows He sends us, Are part of His lessons in grace. "Oft we shrink from the purging and pruning, Forgetting the Husbandman knows That the deeper the cutting and paring, The richer the cluster that grows. "Well He knows tha…

Ephesians 5:25-27 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Morning, January 28 "Perfect in Christ Jesus." Colossians 1:28 Do you not feel in your own soul that perfection is not in you? Does not every day teach you that? Every tear which trickles from your eye, weeps "imperfection"; every harsh word which proceeds from your lip, mutters "imperfection." You have too frequently had …

Numbers In The Bible Series 60 - Three Steps To Christ In A 2-Fold Way Day 60 - 3 Steps To Christ In A 2-Fold Way As we draw our series on Bible Numbers to a close, it is most fitting to end it with how the unbeliever can find Christ and how the believer can draw closer to Christ. I've always felt that God is a very economical God. He blesses many people with the same verses but in different ways and for different reasons. As I was searching for just the right thing to write about, I was drawn to Matthew 11:28-30 this morning. My spirit needed encouragement and these were the first verses I had memorized as a new believer and I turn to them frequently. …

Numbers In The Bible Series 61 - The Shepherd The Shepherd (This Devotional by Kate is included in this book as a follow up to #6, The Nine Cares Of A Shepherd) In yesterday’s devotional, we saw how God uses the medium of speech for His Word to be communicated to His people. Is it any wonder then that the Lord would compare Himself to a shepherd? Many years ago, I did a study on the job of a shepherd in biblical times. This comparison of the shepherd to our Lord is an absolute blessing! I pray you will receive a blessing today. Did you know that the shepherd speaks to his sheep? The sheep actually recognize their own shepherd’s voice and won’t respon…

The following poem was taken from chapter 11 of A Minister's Obstacles. I am not sure if the author of the book is also the author of the poem. He held the lamp that Sabbath day So low that none could miss the way, And yet so high, to bring to sight That picture fair of CHRIST the Light, That, gazing up, the lamp between The hand that held it was not seen. He held the pitcher, stooping low, To lips of little ones below; Then raised it to the weary saint, And bade him drink when sick and faint. They drank, the pitcher them …

Through Darkened Skies When once bright prospects now seem so dim, And thoughts of the future appear so grim - You feel your steps start to falter and fail; Your life now seems so much more uncertain, You can’t see what lies beyond the curtain - Anchor your faith steadfast within the veil. With storm clouds racing across the sky Sudden waves of doubt and fear draw nigh - So soon your day has turned to darkest night; Testing will come, but don’t light your own way, Hold tightly to God’s Word, trust and obey - Choose this day to walk by faith, and not by sight. With the very own Author of our faith, As our example to run in this race - …

The Darkness Is Passing Away The shadow of death will turn to morning like the breaking of the day, Our trials will turn to blessings in God’s own wondrous way; These light afflictions are for a moment, then they too will pass away, When the brightness of His glory is here forevermore to stay. Though the shadows overwhelm you, and you can’t see the path ahead, At times the storm clouds gather round you, and frighten you with their dread; Jesus will turn your mourning into dancing; your sorrow and pain will pass away – The bright Morning Star is coming soon – with the dawning of a brand new day. One day, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, …

O Save Us Now Before God made the world, redemption was planned; In the fullness of time, God became a man. From Heaven, God’s Son came; was in a manger laid; The Christ had arrived – soon our sin debt would be paid. Simeon in the Temple, and Anna nearby, The shepherds in the field, knew the Saviour was nigh. The wise men saw the star as it shone from the sky; They followed it far to the King from on High. To a world darkened by sin The light of hope is shining in, The Promised Son has appeared, The Saviour is now here – O save us now! Years have passed by; this child has grown into a man; Now it was time to fulfill God’s wondrous …

FEAR My friend went on ahead And left me here To walk my last, long mile Alone; and Fear Stepped to his vacant place And said that he Would walk with me, and my Companion be. And so he dogged my steps In this dark vale Where death's wings shadow me. My face grew pale, My spirit quailed. I called One precious Name In my distress, and lo, That loved One came! He closely holds my hand, This tender Friend, Nor will He let me go Until the end. And as He walks with me, Daily more dear, I find that trust and love Have cast out Fear. Here’s a poem that I attempted to fit together the idea of being grateful for God’s forgiveness and remembering what He has done for us on Calvary (ie. thinking on these things in light of the Lord’s Supper - which my church will partake of in the evening service this coming Sunday). Thanks to my friend Gary for the suggestion (of the first idea). A Call To Remembrance I’ll never forget all the things You’ve done for me; How You died on the cruel cross of Calvary; You redeemed me from my sin and set me free; Now Lord Jesus, I am Yours eternally. I was a black sheep that had wandered astray; As a Good Shepherd, You sought me that day; You rescued m…

Because You Passed My Way My load's a little lighter now, Because you passed my way - The sun's a little brighter And the clouds have passed away. I've found my Saviour nearer, And each day He grows still dearer And I'm on my way to Glory, Because you passed my way. I was lost and no one seemed to care Until you passed my way, You saw me, and led me to Christ Oh, what a happy day, Now I'm living all for Jesus, And with Him I'll be some day, For I found a new beginning, Because you passed my way. And when in realms of glory, I see His precious face, And hear the angel voices Within that heavenly place, I'll rememb…

I have a series called I.S.E. I've done some work on. This is the longest thing I've written on it; it's not that good, as it's a year and a half old or so, and there's some grammatical errors. But, if you're interested, here it is - think, "Christian Star Trek": Prologue The year is 2204. Man's ability to travel in space has risen drastically since 1969, when he first set foot on the moon. Space travel is almost as normal now as driving a car was then - yes, a lot can happen in two hundred and thirty years. The last seventy years have been hard ones for earth, as they have been riddled with war. Whether it was communists against capitalists, terrorists ag…

I Am Jesus I Am the Good Shepherd; I gave My life for My sheep. I Am the Resurrection and the Life - Your comfort when you weep. I Am the Light of the World That shines upon you each day - In this perilous journey of life, I Am the only Way. I Am the True Vine - There is no real living apart from Me. I Am the Door of Salvation; Eternal life is knowing Me. I Am the Messiah, who died From sin to set you free; For everything you are searching for - I that speak to you Am He. I Am the Bread of Life On which your soul can feed. I Am That I Am - …

The End Of The Fight This world is getting darker; The saints are in disarray; The trials seem almost endless, And we long for the break of day - A time of no more struggles, No more warring with this world, No more wrestling with the darkness - Into Hell, Satan will be hurled. Chorus: Oh, Jesus is coming again To judge the children of men; Then our Saviour will reign - The King of kings from Jerusalem. There'll be no more reason to fight; No more need to lead to higher ground. That's the end of the night; The final division of lost and found. Faith will be turned into sight, And we can lay our armour down; All the wrongs will…

The King from a-top the mountains The King from beneath the stone The King of flowing fountains Shall come unto His own He'll come with trumpet sound He'll come with wondrous might His glory will shine around It will be a glorious sight He'll rule over all the land He'll rule over every sea He'll rule over grass and sand He'll rule over ever galaxy His Kingdom He will bring Down to earth below His glory we will sing Our lives, to Him, we'll show Our King, we should praise And lift His name on high Our voices we will raise So they reach up to the sky The King is full of grace His mercy, He gives to you When we loo…
