Ok well this is not a poem, it is ab essay that I had to write for school so What is a father? What does a father do? according to the Meriam Webster Dictionary a father is one who has betton a child: a male that loves, nuture's, and protects a child. A father is a picture of safety, security, protection, wisdom, kindness, compassion, dependability, and faithfulness. A father is a reminder or a picture of our Heavenly Father. A fahter is a person who is loving and kind, he often knows what you have on your mind. He's someone who listens, suggests, and defends. A dad can be one of your closest friends. He is always proud of your triumps, but when things go wr…

“I counted my years and found that I have less time to live from here on than I have lived up to now. I feel like that child who won a packet of sweets: he ate the first with pleasure, but when he realized that there were few left, he began to enjoy them intensely. I no longer have time for endless meetings where statutes, rules, procedures and internal regulations are discussed, knowing that nothing will be achieved. I no longer have time to support the absurd people who, despite their chronological age, haven't grown up. My time is too short: I want the essence, my soul is in a hurry. I don't have man…

I Shall Come Forth As Gold No longer on the mountaintop, The tempests wax fierce and hot; Though the way ahead may seem rough, His grace will always be enough - For when He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold. Chorus: As gold, as gold, I shall come forth as gold; As gold, as gold, I shall come forth as gold. As I walk through the shadow of death, This valley seems to steal my breath; Though I cannot yet see my way, I will trust in Jesus come what may - For when He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold. When storm clouds carry doubt and fear, I will not fret for God is near. Though I walk through the darkest day, Through f…

Striving Poet My one Foot steeped on passing sea, while other sunk on Land; This focus was divided by decisions where I stand; The Right was on a massive run, but Other might have fled-- Was tied and wounded weary in my vacant dungeon bed. My mind was on the battle field, while heart was out to play; This weary mind--my feelings mixed--and made me late delay; The Spirit always willing, but, the flesh severely weak-- Was lying ill but busy still, without--within the Deck. My two of me do strive along, this narrow road I've trod; This way I've walked in focal view was on a pensive mode; The life is one a Dew in flow'r, but we can spend the best;-- Was Pilgrim …

Who is eating Your Lunch My brother had a weimaraner dog. They are good bird hunting dogs from Germany. When my brother gets a new dog it takes a lot of patience’s because you must train them the way you want them. One day John stopped to pick up parts for the quarry where we work. He left his brown bag lunch on the front seat of his pick up truck and told Heidi the dog to say in the back like she was trained. Guess what happened. Yep! The dog jumped in the front seat and ate Johnny’s lunch. He was not happy! So a training session occurred. A few days later Johnny had to stop for parts again. He left his brown bag lunch on the seat in the front of the truck ag…

Ok, ok, here's my half-baked attempt at (uuugggh ) poetry! When you go visit the American city, you might find it very glitzy, but if you take a walk in the park, don't talk to muggers, or they'll take you apart! Oh mugger, oh mugger, your time has come to answer for your crime, we love our honey's, we love our families, we love our money, to not put up with your crime! Let's take a walk through the suburbs and ghettos, there you'll find everyone from rich men to peddlers, but if you're a mugger out looking for a thrill, if the cops don't get you, Charles Bronson will! It is sunny day, and joggers are making their way, yet, the mugger hi…

Our dearest friends lost their 22 year old daughter a couple of years ago and another friend lost his wife Thanksgiving day last year. This poen is written as a tribute to their pain. My love is gone My heart cries out in anguish Yet no one hears my plea My world has stopped Yet others still move I cannot hear Yet others speak I stand here weeping While others laugh My love is gone Yet life goes on I cry out to God But does he hear I ask why Knowing there is no answer Sleep flees my grasp Yet weariness is present Alone with the memories Alive with my ache My love is gone Yet life goes on An inward tug No not yet Prayer is a thought I hurt …

I wrote this poem during my free time when I was looking at some pictures.:wow: Please tell me what you think. Each person is a different color Whether white, brown, or black Each person likes a different color It may be the color of their back Each color means something different Red is mad and yellow is bright Each rainbow shares every color And that's what makes it such a beautiful sight ~Kaycee~

I feel kinda dumb saying this but I just wrote my first poem in almost 8 years. I wrote alot of silly, fun poetry as a high schooler, wasting time I should have used doing schoolwork. :frog I have been reading you guys' stuff and it is so good! I don't like to show emotion very much and poetry to me is very emotional so often I avoid it. But anyway I thought that this should be the one I should start back with......I don't know that it will be very encouraging to anyone but maybe it will make somebody think....especially those of you who are teens!!! Thanks for reading.... Mom She packed my lunch with care and love, Sent me out with a loving sho…

I am not a poet, but the Lord put this on my heart.... MY LORD IS GOOD, AND SWEET, AND GRACIOUS AND DAILY TO ME SO KIND, NO MATTER HOW OFTEN I FAIL HIM, NO MATTER HOW SPIRITUALLY BLIND. HE TAKES MY HAND AND LEADS ME, AND REMINDS ME OFTEN "YOU'RE MINE". THOUGH TIMES SEEM SO TROUBLED IN THIS WICKED SIN SICK PLACE, I KNOW, I TRUST, I AWAIT THAT CALL TO LOOK UPON THE LAMB'S FACE!

WHO IS THE TEACHER?
by Guest Guest- 6 replies

To hear the trueth, don't ask a preacher, to hear the trueth Just read the words of Jesus, my teacher. Jesus said the whole law was love GOD first and love others as you love your self. Most preachers are rich and fat and love there selves more than CHRIST himself. They pass the offering plate around its a sin if you let it hit the ground. Then they take the money home and role in it till satan fills there gready souls. Then they buy treasures for themselves and tell you its for the GLORY of GOD. Those Preachers call them selves BAPTISTS, CATHOLICS, and MORMONS. I call them SATANIST who love to yell LORD LORD. Mod note: edited for spam

There?s so much here That?s keeping me From loving You the way I should The way I want With each distraction You fade away a little more And the world gains a little more control The control You should?ve had I want to change Erase the past All these things that I?ve done All these battles I?ve never won I tried so hard to do this on my own I was so wrong I need forgiveness, Lord I?m on my knees, so Let that cleansing wave wash over me Today this ends Today I?m done From here my eyes will stay on You On You alone So break me down Show me, Lord, what I?ve become Search my heart And break my will to make it Yours I want to do this right From no…

I didn't write this story, however I did receive it, in an e-mail and I found it worthy of sharing. May all of you be blessed by it. :) ---------------------------------------------------- What would you do? You make the choice! Don't look for a punch line; There isn't one! Please read it anyway. My question to all of you is: Would you have made the same choice? At a fund-raising dinner for a school that serves learning disabled children, the father of one of the students delivered a speech that would never be forgotten by all who attended. After extolling the school and its dedicated staff, he offered a question: "When not interfered with by outside influ…

heres another poem the mask you look at me and you see a smile on my face, happy about everything, a laugh always upon my lips, a look that can only say i love you. this is a mask, a mask to hide a wall, a wall to hide my true self, a sad soul, crying day and night, to hide a broken heart, the broken dreams, the hopes shattered, but i wear this mask, to cover the death on the inside, the horrible things, the hurts, many a times i ask God "why me?"

Law and Grace He stands in the night, a hardend face He enforces the Law, for that is his place Appointed by the Lord, called to a duty devine By the Grace of God his strength refined The call comes in, away he goes To help anyone in need, helping others, he starts to glow Over an injured child he kneals, his words so kind Trying to ease the fear, for now she is blind Why O why Lord, she's only nine Pain and hurt fills the night, more calls waiting for him to go He prays in his car, may the rest of the calls be no more Home late at night, leave the job at the door Carrying the scars of what he saw an hour before Family asleep, darkness fills the house…

It’s Not So Bad I found myself in Hunchun, China in 2002. A good friend of mine, Don, had been contacted by a group out of California that was renovating an old farm there and was turning it into a dairy for relief work. It’s too long and complicated to go into all of the details here, but suffice it to say, Don was a contractor and was asked to go and supervise the construction. When he got there, he found that they wanted to use horses for work on the farm, and had one lone horse already there. The horse was not broke, of course. They asked Don if he knew anyone crazy enough … I mean willing enough… to fly to China to break horses for them, and he thou…

There is a visitor coming to church this week, someone special "Is it the mayor?" People asked? "If it's the mayor, we need something special. We should have the children sing a special song" This was talked about. "We should hang up red, white, and blue streamers, it's so neat that the mayor is coming to our church!" No, it isn't the mayor.. someone more important "The Governor? The leader of the entire STATE!?!" Was the next guess. "We should buy radio time.. we should let the city know that the Governor is going to be at OUR church!! We need to get volunteers to donate items and time so we can serve lunch after service! We need to clean and decorate the …

There is a Joy that disappoints God and Jesus. What am I talking about? When we rejoice when An athlete froma team we dislike is severely injured or somebdy we do ot like becomes gravely ill, that joy is an insult to God or Jesus. When we behave unmercifully we fail to exhibit goodness, gentleness, empathy or loving kindness towards the person who is ill or injured. Then we are dabbling in the flesh, namely hate This saddens Jesus and The Holy Spirit. It is imperative that we exhibit loving kindness, mercy, and compassion We also need to pray for the person, just in case they do not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. We also need to ask God to forgive us for our atti…

"Johnny," his father asked, "did you do your homework yet" "Yes," Johnny said. Guilt and shame washed over Johnny for he knew this was not true. "Johnny," his Sunday school, Teacher, Tracey said, "did yu study your Memory Verses?" "Yes," JOhnny said, knowing full well he had not. Guilt, and a sense of panic washed over Johnny. When asked to recite his Memory Verses, Johnny could not. "Johnny," his sister Brittany said, "tonight is my night to wash the dishes and feed Rusty. However, I have to baby sit for the Shaws. Will you feed Rusty and do the dishes? In return I'll wash the small truck for you." "Yes," JOhnny said, knowing full well that there was no way he would…

My son was separated from the Coast Guard after 11 years of service, because he refused to take the jab. Here is his poem. The Sea I’ll miss your sounds, your salty breeze, Your unforgiving ways. Your soothing calm, your angry tease, Your glorious crashing waves. It’s been bittersweet my gorgeous mistress, Though often unforgiving. I’ve seen your rage, embraced your kiss, I offer my humble thanksgiving. You have my blood, my sweat, and my tears, Still I’ll offer one last treasure. Calloused my hands, helped conquer my fears, Now my boots are yours forever. Your soothing rock, through trough and crest, Have…
