THIS I KNOW I do not know what next may come Across my pilgrim way; I do not know tomorrow's road, Nor see beyond today. But this I know -- my SAVIOUR knows The path I cannot see; And I can trust His wounded hand To guide and care for me. I do not know what may befall, Of sunshine or of rain; I do not know what may be mine, Of pleasure and of pain; But this I know -- my SAVIOUR knows And whatsoe'er it be, Still I can trust His love to give What will be best for me. I do not know what may await, Or what the morrow brings; But with the glad salute of faith, I hail its opening wings; For this I know -- that my LORD Shall all my needs be met…

Speak To The Rock In the desert, God's people were so thirsty and dry They were angry with Moses, "Did you bring us here to die?" So God spoke to Moses, told him, 'Gather the flock And I'll give them water when you speak to the rock' There came a woman of Samaria to draw water from the well Jesus told her that day many things about herself He said, 'I'll give you living water and you'll never thirst again' Then she witnessed to the city, "Christ revealed my every sin" Speak to the Rock, and let the water flow Speak to the Rock, it will satisfy your soul If your spirit needs refreshing, don't you murmur nor complain Just speak to the Rock and you'll never t…

A Life A life so wonderfully, graciously given A life beyond what thought can achieve A life bound for a perfect Heaven If only I can such a life believe. A life not of lazy, hazy days A life but more full and free A life through turmoil and dark haze If only such a life can be for me. A life of overflowing joy and happiness A life full of love unknown A life in which I've made such a mess If only my life in You I've grown. A life, my life, as I have deemed it A life I've thought to please myself A life, my life, I've dug a pit If only my life You do not shelf. A life given wholly to You A life much greater it shall be A life, Lo…

Wait on the LORD My soul, wait only on the LORD, Expecting nothing save from Him. Rest all on His unfailing Word Nor ever let thy faith grow dim. Thine every need shall be supplied, Thy heart's desires be freely given, And no good thing shall be denied The soul in harmony with heaven. All human strength but disappoints, Its wrecks along life's path are strewed; But they who wait as GOD appoints Shall daily find their strength renewed. On eagles' wings of faith they rise And far above earth's tumult sail, They run, unwearied, toward the prize, They walk, and neither faint nor fail. However, hope!, as seems thy case, Go spread it out before th…

In 2004 I was blessed by being asked to help at the funeral service of a very good friend. Raymonds son, Floyd asked me to read this poem. For several years he had helped with Vacation Bible School at Immanuel Baptist Church at Nashville, Arkansas, having missed the last one only because of his health. He was faithful, trying his best to make a good example for all of those little fellows who would attend Vacation Bible School, knowing that his impression could make a large difference in each childs life and their future. All of us could take heed from the example Raymond set amongst all of the children, as well as all the adults who passed thru his life.…

I Met The Master I had walked life's way with an easy tread, Had followed where comforts and pleasure led, Until one day in a quiet place I met the MASTER face to face. With station and rank and wealth for my goal, Much thought for my body, but none for my soul, I had entered to win in life's mad race, When I met the MASTER face to face. I had built my castles and reared them high, With their towers had pierced the blue of the sky, I had sworn to rule with an iron mace, When I met the MASTER face to face. I met Him and knew Him and blushed to see That His eyes, full of sorrow, were fixed on me; And I faltered and fell at His feet that day, W…

I am not a poet, I am a studier of the old days and things. You know the Baptist name was a lot more common a hundred years ago. Back in the days an unknown person wrote this poem. It is a little short and simple, but it is from the old days. Baptist, Baptist, Baptist, Baptist till I die, I'd rather be a Baptist, and eat that Baptist pie

The following poem was taken from chapter 11 of A Minister's Obstacles. I am not sure if the author of the book is also the author of the poem. He held the lamp that Sabbath day So low that none could miss the way, And yet so high, to bring to sight That picture fair of CHRIST the Light, That, gazing up, the lamp between The hand that held it was not seen. He held the pitcher, stooping low, To lips of little ones below; Then raised it to the weary saint, And bade him drink when sick and faint. They drank, the pitcher them …

I have read other variations of this story before but the truth is still pertinent: A Christmas Story There was once a man who didn't believe in God and he didn't hesitate to let others know how he felt about religion and religious holidays like Christmas. His wife, however, did believe and she raised their children to also have faith in God and Jesus, despite his disparaging comments. One snowy Christmas Eve, his wife was taking their children to a Christmas Eve service in the farm community in which they lived. She asked him to come, but he refused. "That story is nonsense!" he said. "Why would God lower Himself to come to Earth as a man? That's ridiculo…

The following is a poem written by Judge Roy Moore from Alabama. Judge Moore was sued by the ACLU for displaying the Ten Commandments in his courtroom foyer. He has been stripped of his judgeship and now they are trying to strip his right to practice law in Alabama. The judge's poem sums it up quite well. America The Beautiful America the Beautiful, or so you used to be. Land of the Pilgrims' pride; I'm glad they'll never see. Babies piled in dumpsters, Abortion on demand, Oh, sweet land of liberty; your house is on the sand. Our children wander aimlessly poisoned by cocaine, Choosing to indulge their lusts, when God has said abstain. From …

What does it mean at Christmas To feel the Christmas cheer To have someone to share it with And to hold those thoughts most dear What does it mean at Christmas To put a tree up with lights To place the special angel To keep us feeling right What does it mean at Christmas To wrap presents with a bow To place them under the Christmas tree With excitement soon to show What does it mean at Christmas When we bow our heads in prayer And thank the Lord for giving His son And His tender love and care Christmas means a lot of things But only one will this day That God loved us so very much He sent His Son our way A babe born in Bethlehem To save the …

By Katy-Anne Binstead This was the third day in a row, on her way to start her early morning shift, that Sarah had seen the homeless girl. The girl looked younger than her, and Sarah knew that she slept in the Lifeline bin, because she had seen her climbing out of it about 4 am yesterday. And this was the third day in a row that the voice of the Holy Spirit had compelled her to stop her car and witness to the girl. But she just couldn

He Wasn't Invited Hello dear friend! Well as you know, it's almost time for my birthday again. Last year, they had a really big party for me and it seems like they will again this year. After all they've been shopping and preparing for it for months now, and there have been announcements and advertisements almost every day about how soon it's coming! They really do go overboard about it, but it's nice to know that at least on one day of the year some people are thinking about me a little. You know, it's been many years now since they first started celebrating my birthday. Back then they seemed to realize and appreciate how much fun it is for the little ch…

I wrote this poem and don't mind finding out what you think; Grief Departed Loved Ones Gone The first year you feel all alone I miss them awfully bad Each day makes me sad You flash back to good memories in a stare It is just about all you can bare Blame yourself when you were mean Though justified it seems Why should I carry on without them It is these times you need to remember when The dearly departed would not want that So carry on to the next daybreak As they say time heals all This I truly saw You will flash back memories now and then You

Twice Delivered By Katy-Anne Binstead Several of the Israelite teen girls stood together talking to each other about what had just happened. They had all just eaten of a meal that Moses had called the Passover, and then they and all their possessions had been uprooted from Egypt, which had been the only home they had known.
