Ok well this is not a poem, it is ab essay that I had to write for school so What is a father? What does a father do? according to the Meriam Webster Dictionary a father is one who has betton a child: a male that loves, nuture's, and protects a child. A father is a picture of safety, security, protection, wisdom, kindness, compassion, dependability, and faithfulness. A father is a reminder or a picture of our Heavenly Father. A fahter is a person who is loving and kind, he often knows what you have on your mind. He's someone who listens, suggests, and defends. A dad can be one of your closest friends. He is always proud of your triumps, but when things go wr…

I look for my homeland: My Soverign Father's abode; Where sin shall never stand, Where peace and order holds: For I am now His adopted child: Free from the broken chains of sin! No more a slave doomed on Earth, where God shall with wrath judge. I thirst to see my homeland: My final, eternal destination; Made by pure, heavenly hands: Not of fallen Man's creation: Heavenly Jerusalem I shall wait for, Not Rome or earthly Jerusalem: My Lord is greater than all the Kings of the land. I'll endure to see my homeland: Through all grit and pain: For Christ Jesus I still stand: Though man shall whip and burn me, Have not the great saints of old, stood throug…

God is So Good

I did not write this poem, but it is one of my favorites God is So Good There is a word for God I know And speak I often should It is a word our world must hear That God is always good He's good when things are going well The lost can even say But it takes a child with tested faith to say it everyday The crowd proclaims how good He is When there is money in their banks The trusting soul in poverty Still bows and gives Him thanks It's easy to sing "God is good" …

Ok well, I am not a poet at all, but here goes I wrote this the other day for my Grandpa who was the only dad I ever knew. He passed away 6 months ago yesterday A father's touch, a daddy's kiss' A grieving daughter, you're greatly missed. An empty house, an empty chair, A father's love no longer there. A broken heart, a tear filled eye, Another soul to fill the sky. Many memories in my mind, At some I laugh, some I cry. The times we shared, the laughs we had, The things I miss when I think of you, dad. Realizing that's all I have to hold on too, Only memories of what once was you. Missing your laugh that I will never hear again That is the reality …

My first writing... Ever wonder why in Bible-believing churches, the pulpit is at the centre of the sanctuary? This place, the place where the Word of God is preached. It bears witness to the power of the Scriptures: The Holy Bible. This is the Word, that demolishes all the vain philosophies and superstitions of fallen Man, and points out the universal sickness and sinfulness of the children of Adam: it leaves no place for Man's exaltation, nor serves to glorify anyone save God. This is the Word, that has brought many ungodly, wretched souls to repentance. That has transformed God-hating, wrathful unbelievers to humble, durable vessels God so uses for His glory.…

I have been asked from time to time if I am Jewish and I said not in the recent branches but there might be a few in the tree since my family has always been right friendly. Turns out that Shultz is not only a title of an office like Mayor but is also a derivation of a Jewish name. My GG-Granddaddy's name was Jacob and in his time being name Jacob in Germany was not a good thing so that might explain the massive German migration to the US in thee 1840's and why there are so many Jacob Shultzs in the US at that time. I am kind of tickled to think that I may have some of Abraham'e seed in me but I am most thankful that I am of the seed of Christ Jesus! GLORY!!! Sept…

America the Beautiful, or so you used to be. Land of the Pilgrims' pride; I'm glad they'll never see. Babies piled in dumpsters, Abortion on demand, Oh, sweet land of liberty; your house is on the sand. Our children wander aimlessly poisoned by cocaine, Choosing to indulge their lusts, when God has said abstain. From sea to shining sea, our Nation turns away From the teaching of God's love and a need to always pray. We've kept God in our temples, how callous we have grown. When earth is but His footstool, and Heaven is His throne. We've voted in a government that's rotting at the core, Appointing Godless Judges who throw reason out the do…

How do you love a persson Who never got to be, Or try again to see a face You never got to see? How do you mourn the death of one Who never got to live? When there's nothing to feel good about And nothing to forgive? I love you, little sister, You're a person of the wind, Free to be the memory Of all that might have been. I love you, little sister, My companion of the night, Wandering through my lonely hours, Beautiful and bright. What does it mean to die before You ever can be born, To live the lonely night of life And never see the dawn? Ah! My little sister, You lived like anyone! Life's a burst of joy and pain, And then, like yours, …

His Blood Spoke My Name In the land of Egypt, God's children were oppressed Pharaoh's heart was hardened; so they would get no rest The blood upon the portal kept Israel safe from fright While Pharaoh's house was wailing; for death had come that night On a lonely hillside, a man from Galilee Rejected by His people, was hung upon a tree The Son of God would give His life to bear our guilt and shame It was there upon that rugged cross that His blood spoke my name. His blood spoke my name there on that rugged tree His blood spoke my name, saying, "Child, I'll set you free The Son of God would give His life to bear our guilt and shame It was there upon that …

Kate had posted this on another website, and I asked her if I could post it here as well, because I knew some would appreciate it. A policewoman was killed in the line of duty yesterday about 11 miles from here. She was not in the department my husband is in but he will be attending her funeral. I wrote this poem when my husband's Sargeant was killed in the line of duty a few years ago. I'm sharing it with you today in honor of Detective Vicky O. Armel. To Protect and To Serve I don't know why you chose this path It was surely not for pay There's no routine or certainty That brings comfort with each day You leave your home and take along Si…

This is not spiritual - and to me that is the most important thing in our life (our walks with the Lord) - but here are some things of important, next in line: Seven Wonders of the World A group of students were asked to list what they thought were the present "Seven Wonders of the World." Though there were some disagreements, the following received the most votes: 1. Egypt's Great Pyramids 2. Taj Mahal 3. Grand Canyon 4. Pananama Canal 5. Empire State Building 6. St. Peter's Basilica 7. China's Great Wall While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one student had not finished her paper yet. So she asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list…

Memorial Day was over now All had left and I was alone I began to read the names and dates Chiseled there on every stone. The dates that show whether it was Mom or Dad Or daughter or baby son The dates were different but the amount the same There were two on every one. It was then I noticed something It was but a simple line It was the dash between the dates Placed there, it stood for time, All at once it dawned on me How important that little line The dates placed there belong to God But that line is yours and mine. It's God who gives us precious life And God who takes away But that line between He gives to us To do with what we may. We know…

I didn't write this story, however I did receive it, in an e-mail and I found it worthy of sharing. May all of you be blessed by it. :) ---------------------------------------------------- What would you do? You make the choice! Don't look for a punch line; There isn't one! Please read it anyway. My question to all of you is: Would you have made the same choice? At a fund-raising dinner for a school that serves learning disabled children, the father of one of the students delivered a speech that would never be forgotten by all who attended. After extolling the school and its dedicated staff, he offered a question: "When not interfered with by outside influ…

SCARS IN LIFE Some years ago on a hot summer day in south Florida a little boy decided to go for a swim in the old swimming hole behind his house. In a hurry to dive into the cool water, he ran out the back door, leaving behind shoes, socks, and shirt as he went. He flew into the water, not realizing that as he swam toward the middle of the lake, an alligator was swimming toward the shore. His mother in the house was looking out the window saw the two as they got closer and closer together. In utter fear, she ran toward the water, yelling to her son as loudly as she could. Hearing her voice, the little boy became alarmed and made a U-turn to swim to…

I'm not good at poetry but I wrote this anyhow. It is a personal testimony as well as a message to others who struggle with this. They are two different poems but they must go together for the message to be portrayed. I wrote the first one ages ago, of course, then I had to write an "after" poem. River of Blood -- Before by Katy-Anne Binstead Tasting the blood That flows through my veins When I cut deep enough to try to mask the pain I feel inside. The crimson river That flows From my body When I cut Is supposed to be a healing river The river of blood. But in the end It is empty and useless. * * * River of Blood -- After by Katy…

THIS I KNOW I do not know what next may come Across my pilgrim way; I do not know tomorrow's road, Nor see beyond today. But this I know -- my SAVIOUR knows The path I cannot see; And I can trust His wounded hand To guide and care for me. I do not know what may befall, Of sunshine or of rain; I do not know what may be mine, Of pleasure and of pain; But this I know -- my SAVIOUR knows And whatsoe'er it be, Still I can trust His love to give What will be best for me. I do not know what may await, Or what the morrow brings; But with the glad salute of faith, I hail its opening wings; For this I know -- that my LORD Shall all my needs be met…
