Prepare the way for me Lord My time is nearly up My breathing is deep and shallow I found the winning cup I will be heading for the seashore The bright lights around your throne With my friends and family waiting To welcome my spirit home I can see their smiling faces The angels gently take my hand My time is nearly over Before your throne I stand You will welcome me with open arms A crown and robe to wear I laid my burdens down at your feet In Your kingdom Lord, I share. :amen:

Many hands He has to hold us Many arms stretched open wide Many prayers He has to answer Many angels by His side Many gifts He has to offer Many sins He has forgave Many lives He know is folding Many lives have gone unsaved Many words He has spoken Many times they?re just ignored So when we arrive in Heaven Our lives will be explored.

What am I worth, in this temporal world, Where life is but just decades old? None other purpose, but to live for Thee: Jesus, who sacrificed Himself for me. How can I walk on in my own old ways, When my eyes have beheld Thy glory? I can do nothing but to follow Thee, To walk in Thy Spirit, and living in love. How can I cry and bemoan my sufferings, When Your wounds and grief exceeds mine? Just as how You walked down Golgotha, Same I do patiently, to carry my Cross. How can I lift myself up selfishly, When Your life was spent serving others? Just as how You lived Your earthly life so lowly, Shall I place You and others before me. How can I linger on in …

I've Found The Pearl Of Greatest Price (Lyrics: John Mason) I?ve found the Pearl of greatest price, My heart doth sing for joy; And sing I must, for Christ is mine! Christ shall my song employ. Christ is my Prophet, Priest, and King; My Prophet full of light, My great High Priest before the throne, My King of heav?nly might. For He indeed is Lord of lords, And He the King of kings; He is the Sun of Righteousness, With healing in His wings. Christ is my Peace; He died for me, For me He shed His blood; And as my wondrous Sacrifice, Offered Himself to God. Christ Jesus is my All in all, My Comfort and my Love, My Life below, and He shall be My Joy …

The air was filled with the aroma of grass, While I gazed upon the vast prairie lands, A snowy white dove soared across the wild blue yonder, And beside me rested a wise little robin. The wind carried a sound of rushing water, I looked to find from whence it came. Eagerly, I walked towards the soothing sound, With the company of that wise little robin. As I traveled down that long and winding path, I stopped to rest and gather my strength. My pockets empty, my mind jumbled with thoughts, Perched upon my shoulder, that wise little robin. I felt comfort and joy as I gazed into its eyes. A peace like no other, a quiet so divine. My fears and so…

Five months ago a beagle mix wandered into our area. My wife first started to care for him and eventually we adopted him and named him Jack. I really didn't want another dog. So much for that. Anyway, he became ill suddenly like he had been poisoned or something. Karen took him to the Vet but when it came to the time when the Vet said we needed to put him down she left it up to me to get that down. I had no clue it would bother me so bad until I made that call. Now you see it has me up in the wee hours writing a poem and sharing the experience with you. I have a ten year old mini-dachshund and if after five months I have this much grief I dread when Shiloh (means pe…

Weary and torn, my body and soul. A lifetime ago, my heart spoke with zeal, But the pain and sorrow had taken its toll. Trapped in darkness because of my sin, Chained to my past, bound to my pride, I placed my hands on my head in shame, And trembled in fear as I fell down and cried. "Completely helpless, in spirit am I, Impinge on me your rod, my Lord. Thorns and thistles, they cover my heart, Sever the roots with your almighty sword." "Child, weep not, for your heart is pure, Listen! The angels in heaven rejoice. Humbled you are, strong you shall be, Tender in heart with wisdom of choice." Faded and worn my passion became,

Our dearest friends lost their 22 year old daughter a couple of years ago and another friend lost his wife Thanksgiving day last year. This poen is written as a tribute to their pain. My love is gone My heart cries out in anguish Yet no one hears my plea My world has stopped Yet others still move I cannot hear Yet others speak I stand here weeping While others laugh My love is gone Yet life goes on I cry out to God But does he hear I ask why Knowing there is no answer Sleep flees my grasp Yet weariness is present Alone with the memories Alive with my ache My love is gone Yet life goes on An inward tug No not yet Prayer is a thought I hurt …

Work with all your might, while the sun is still shining, Toil and plow the field with every inch of your strength: Let the Lord provide rain, and watch over your land: While you sow the good seeds everywhere on the earth. 'Tis ain't time to lust for flowers and the harvest: Nor chase after the delightful bounties of life: Let God run His course, and provide you in due time, Let the tree blossom her flowers while the time's right. Isn't our Shepherd coming back for us - His lambs? Can't you hear our bridegroom's voices in the distance? Make haste, servants, prepare all your gifts to our Lord: Soon the wolves shall show our Saviour no resistance. Shall we sl…

I wrote this under inspiration from the tune used for a famous Christmas carol. The hour's coming, the day beckons: Our redemption draws e'er near: Our Saviour vowed to for us return; And His angel's trumpet we'll hear. Lift up your voice, ye saints of Christ: In mirth overthrow all your fears: Rejoice and praise God, O Bride of Christ! We'll enter a world with no more tears. For Christ assigned us truthfully, His one gospel shall first be spread: To all nations, through us faithfully, And only then shall come the end: Gird up your loins, ye sons of God: With faith overcome all your fears: Go forth, preach the Word of the Lord: Let he that have ears tru…

Two of my favorite poems are Invictus by William Henley and Hound of Heaven by Francis Thompson this poem is somewhat of a tribute to the two them. I WAS THE CAPTAIN I was the captain of my soul From the Hound of Heaven I did flee Caring not the ending toll Loving life and loving me Softly came the Word of God To lie upon my searching heart Quietly did the Spirit prod Its time, its time to depart Alas I cried in my despair My load is heavy hard to bear I will not make it to the gate My end is near I see my fate The Spirit spoke I heard his plea Come to Christ His mercy you

6/27/2003 Where Momma Is Whenever I felt lost without a clue Or just down and very blue. I could always go Home where Momma was. When I needed wisdom beyond my years Or someone to dry my bitter tears I could always go Home where Momma was When I just needed a place to rest Where I knew that I would always be blest I could always go Home where Momma was. Now, Momma has been touched by death's cold hand And I am so grieved that I can barely stand At that familiar door to the Home where Momma was. Yet in my heart I can hear her voice Telling me that I should rejoice For things are so very grand at Home where Momma is. There will come a day when I…

Death and time pass no one by, Memories are all that remain. To much, to little, forever, Death to time and time to die. Time ends memory with death, Death ends time with forever. Forever ends memory with time. Time ends forever with death. Death begins with memory of time, Life ends with time but a memory. Death ends life with time, Time ends death with eternity. I just love this message board, I enjoy writing poems and I could go all day just reading them and posting them. This one was a play on words I did couple of months ago. Forgive me if I am overzealous, I just love to share what I have written. I can't take total credit, for it is …

The Church and the World walked far apart On the changing shores of time, The World was singing a giddy song, And the Church a hymn sublime.

I rejoice in glory for my soul HE has saved. Each bump on the road, a lesson well learned, Revealing HIS wisdom, that which I yearn. A road less traveled, I eagerly seek, Surrounded by foes to make my faith weak. His helmet, my salvation, HIS word, my sword, His shield my faith; my courage, the LORD. Subtle stumbling blocks await on the road, Overcome by the seeds my tenderheart sewed. Each storm is a blessing; an honor conferred, Closing the distance by way of HIS word. My flesh, it must die to the LORD every day, HIS spirit within me revealing the way. Like a lost little sheep that wanders astray, My heart felt conviction from the choices I made. Reaching…

There is a carpenter I know Who died for me so long ago. They tortured Him, His blood was shed, "Forgive them LORD," is what he said. Sit down my friend and hear my song, HIS words are true and never wrong. It started with HIS ministry, To challenge works of Pharisees. He told them how their hearts were hard, Their love for God they disregard.

For the brethren - time is running out. =================================================== Beloved, why are you crying in sorrow, full of grief? Is it for the country we dwell in? Wipe your tears, my dear brethren, For soon the Lord - our Captain, will bring us up in victory! This country ain't of our own Just several decades of passin' away: And then we're going to our True Home! So hold strong, my dear brethren - Never follow the ways of the heathen - Wait for Christ to catch us all away! Watchmen, why aren't you awake and hiding your candle of light? Is it all for your evil lusts sake? Arm yourselves, fellow soldiers, Though the war's gonna be …

Have you ever passed by stretches of desert, or other abandoned land? These lands have been long sucked out of their nutrients, and are no more suitable for agriculture, much less human inhabitation. However, such lands were not formed within one day: the soil was eroded throughout a long period of time - either the rain will wash, or the wind would blow the nutrients away, and whatever water that remains will be dried by the sun. One popular example of such once-useful land is the Sahel - a region between Central and North Africa - land that was once a haven for farmers half a century ago. Now mostly barren, it is almost impossible to regain the lost ground again. What…

My only Son, as I watched Thy birth tonight I thought of My plan. Thou broughtest me pride As I watched Thee grow from a boy to a man. Thou performedst Our works, fulfilling Thy destiny As We set up the base of Christianity My only Son, tears of sadness filled my eyes As I watched Thee on the Cross though I knew Thou wouldst not die. For on the third day I resurrected Thee And now My only Son, as always Thou art part of Me. EDITED: Found a couple of typos, lol.

A Poem of My Own I am a flower as weak as I am strong, Growing each day to be free. My stem is strong for my heart is freeing itself To love and see God's great light for us all; To be pretty as I was meant to be; Showing the world I am here to notice the beauty deep down inside of me; Loving as this was meant to be; Love makes all things possible. Tears heal my flowering days as time goes by, With my inner flower growing to replace this badly torn wrong body. God sees my tears, Helps ease the suffering for me to grow. Laughter is becoming more apparent these days, Beauty is out there for us to grasp for each of us, Trying to show the World we are pretty …

i know theres many but its worth the time:) (everything I know)lyrics this pain inside, comes from everything i know, close my mind, to everything so low. I cant take it anymore, loose these chains, and kill the core, and let it rain. the pain inside, comes from everything i know, close my mind, to everything so low. I cant deny, that i lost my way, in the lie, and lost my say. i found myself in the world, and forgot the one i knew, and his wrath unfurled, and theres nothing i can do. the pain inside, comes from everything i know, close my mind, to everything so low. where did he go, why did he leave, how long ago, did i forget to be…
