By: Sadie Katharine ________ Verse 1 Tears flowing from my eyes, To face this trial yet again, Within my soul cries, To long for my Saviour?s hand. His love embraces me with care. His voice speaks out to me, Saying I am with you in dispair, Wherever you are, there I will be. Chorus Wherever I am there you are In the lowest valley, You?re the brightest star. Your grace so abound, Your never too far, You can always be found. Because, Wherever I am there you are. Verse 2 Feeling so tired and down Struggles have come along. He will always be around, To make me strong. Every tear on my pillow, Every burden I bare. I know every where I go He…

Numbers In The Bible Series 12 - Seven Reasons God Wrote To Believers Day 12 - Seven Reasons God Wrote To Believers In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1) Jesus Christ has many names: Alpha and Omega, King of Kings, Saviour, Messiah, etc. My favorite of His names is "the Word." The very words of God are given through Jesus Christ, the Word! There are seven times (meaning perfection) Jesus is called the Word in the New Testament. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, …

Numbers In The Bible Series 15 - God Gives Perfect Rest Day 15 - God Gives Perfect Rest For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee. (Isaiah 54:10) Doesn't this verse absolutely bless your socks off? God's promises are not temporary like those of man. His promises are forever, my friend. God's kindness toward us and His covenant of peace with us shall never be removed, even though the mountains and hills disappear! A promise such as this brings peace and rest. No longer does man have to fret or feel alone. …

Grandpa passed away two years ago and I miss him very much around the Christmas season. I thought of him the other day, as I sat down to enjoy a cup of coffee after decorating for Christmas around our house. I recalled a Christmas Eve from a few years back when we were all at Grandpa's house. The family was all sitting around the huge dining room table, talking, waiting to head out to the midnight service at church. Then someone noticed one of the lights out on Grandpa's Christmas tree. My oldest son, Bubba, (who fancies himself as somewhat of a specialist when it comes to Christmas lights), jumped up from the table exclaiming, "Don't wor…

I was only sixteen, Pregnant and alone. Many horrible things I had seen, No where to go, just on my own. Roaming the streets is all I could do, Trying to figure out how to be a mother, Only if I would of knew, That there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. Never raised in church, never grew up in a Christian home, Parents who were druggies day by day. On the streets where I roamed, Trying to find my own way. Everywhere I went, heartache would come along, I found out I was pregnant one dishearted day, I just wanted somewhere to belong, Somewhere or someone to show me the way! Walked by a little old white country church as I was tired and wo…

The Regret I will always have. I remember the time where I had everything I had ever hoped and dreamed of. Life was what you could call it as "perfect". I had a husband who gave me everything I could ever have imagined. I had more love for him than words could ever describe. Without him, I was incomplete. I married William when I was nineteen years old, knowing that we had different views of life. But, I had a love for him that was strong within me. I knew it was not going to be an easy road ahead. Willaim and I had one child together. Her name was Rose. We had a nice house, and an expensive car, and more money than I could dream of. The one thing that w…

I mentioned this song/poem in another post; thought I'd post the whole thing here. It explains in part why butterflies are special to me. I was like a butterfly before it has its wings buried in a cocoon so dark and drear. I didn't know about the sunshine waiting just outside, to chase away my darkness & my fears. But then one day my blinded eyes were opened; The Saviour drew me from my lonely grave. And through His Word I saw myself as He sees me, And heard Him say, I'll wash your sins away. Jesus has given me new life; Jesus is my Savior and my Friend. He drew me from the dark cocoon that I was living in, And …

I wrote this story for my 6 year old granddaughter and to my surprise she read about half way through it before she asked me to finish reading it to her. She really liked it. I have shared it with others on another Christian Forum. I have received both negative and positive responses from readers. My hope is that this story might be used to help children understand the Gospel. Some might find it to be silly or a waste of time, or that it does not make sense, and that’s OK with me. This story is about a boy whose name was “Itzak,” a Hebrew name that means laughter. When Itzak was a little boy his mother took him to church most Sundays where he heard about Jesus.…

THIS I KNOW I do not know what next may come Across my pilgrim way; I do not know tomorrow's road, Nor see beyond today. But this I know -- my SAVIOUR knows The path I cannot see; And I can trust His wounded hand To guide and care for me. I do not know what may befall, Of sunshine or of rain; I do not know what may be mine, Of pleasure and of pain; But this I know -- my SAVIOUR knows And whatsoe'er it be, Still I can trust His love to give What will be best for me. I do not know what may await, Or what the morrow brings; But with the glad salute of faith, I hail its opening wings; For this I know -- that my LORD Shall all my needs be met…

I wanted to post some poems on contending for the faith and standing on the Truth, and came across this one as well. A little bit of a strong poem, but if you are saved and cling wholly to Jesus and His Word, you will love the end! Its A Sad Thing To Be An Infidel It's a sad thing to be an infidel. To deny there's a literal Heaven and Hell. To reject all absolute claims that there's a loving God, Then expect to live in Heaven someday - my, how odd! It's a wretched thing to be a modernist. To deny that every single one of us has sinned, Then somehow expect that by calling God a liar, Will miraculously make you right with Him! It's a cursed…

Contend For The Faith When this lost world wants to bring you down, When the error of the wicked everywhere abounds, Hold fast what you have, that no man take your crown. Contend for the faith - you're standing on holy ground. For the unsaved that God places in your path each day - For the prodigal sons that have wandered astray - Put on your Gospel Armour and enter the fray. Contend for the faith - and fervently pray. For the lost in a world that is reaching its end - contend! For the precious souls of your loved ones and friends - contend! Against a society that doesn't dare to "offend" - contend! For the Truths on which eternal life d…

So Unworthy I am unworthy of your grace, I am unworthy of your salvation so free. So unworthy of seeing your glorious face, And yet, you suffered for a sinner like me. So unworthy of your blessing you give, I am so unworthy for I fail day after day. So unworthy to live this life that I live, And yet, you reached down and showed me the way. I am so unworthy of your guidig hand, So unworthy for I have done so wrong. I am so unworthy to go to that Promised Land, And yet, you picked me up and said my child to me you belong. I am so unworthy to be loved, So unworthy for I have sinned. So unworthy to have a home in Heaven above, And yet, you made me whole,…

This is not spiritual - and to me that is the most important thing in our life (our walks with the Lord) - but here are some things of important, next in line: Seven Wonders of the World A group of students were asked to list what they thought were the present "Seven Wonders of the World." Though there were some disagreements, the following received the most votes: 1. Egypt's Great Pyramids 2. Taj Mahal 3. Grand Canyon 4. Pananama Canal 5. Empire State Building 6. St. Peter's Basilica 7. China's Great Wall While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one student had not finished her paper yet. So she asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list…

Two worldviews contrasted - that of humanism/atheism (ie. the world's vain philosophies) versus that of true Christianity (ie. of faith). Which view is yours? Which one reflects the condition of your heart? Invictus Out of the night that covers me, Black as the Pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul. In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears Looms but the Horror of the shade, And yet the menace of the years Finds and shall find me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate, …

This poem was written for my pastor and his wife for Christmas. Jesus In You Day by day, and throughout all the years, You both taught us by faith what was right and true; You modelled our Saviour in word and in deed - We learned so much about Jesus through you. Faithfully trusting and serving our Saviour; We are amazed by all that our God can do Through those who follow in the footsteps of faith - We know we can see Jesus living in you. Through the years, I’m sure you’ve entertained angels; By your example, we know our hearts grew too; You showed compassion in your care for us all - We see Jesus loving others through you. You sh…

This was sent to me by email. It has a powerful message. I had on new clothes, New sneaks on my feet. I was there for class on time, Went to the back and took my seat. Yeah, I'm moving up, I'm already grown. Soon I'll be graduating, and out on my own. I talked to some of my friends, We were all having fun. Said some things I shouldn't have said, Did stuff I shouldn't have done. I knew I was different. I felt God touch my heart, I knew I should set a standard, But then I'd be set apart. Walking to the bus, I was not looking for strength. I heard the car tires screeching, But now it's too late. I'm standing in this room, And I can …

LOVE Love, speeding by, as an arrow in the night; Catching loose ends as they cut through the fog; Reeling, this way, and that. Finding solid ground for a tender foot; Catching a mere glimpse of it’s feathery breech; Longing inside to grasp its tender boughs; Reaching out to empty, endless streets, As it aims its darts at eternal bliss. Love, elusive as a summer breeze, As quick as a lightning bolt creasing the sky; A fleeting moment, a tear-stained cheek, Love sustained, yet out of reach. As awesome as a hurricane’s fury, As gentle as a flowering hillside; As tranquil and vast as a great chasm, As majestic as the mountain’s rills. Love, the tool of…

I read this in a booklet today. It's a poem by Theodore Monod, 1874. Oh, the bitter shame and sorrow, That a time could ever be, When I let the Saviour's pity Plead in vain, and proudly answered: 'All of self, and none of Thee.' Yet He found me: I beheld Him Bleeding on the accursed tree, Heard Him pray: 'Forgive them, Father;' And my wistful heart said faintly: 'Some of self, and some of Thee.' Day by day His tender mercy, Healing, helping, full and free, Sweet and strong, and ah! so patient, Brought me lower, while I whispered: 'Less of self, and more of Thee.' Higher than the highest Heaven, Deeper than the deepest sea, LORD, Thy love at last hath…

His Voice Cries Out When this world loudly screams at you And steals away your song God's gentle voice whispers deep within, "To Me, My child, you belong." When you're overwhelmed by the things you've done And are haunted by your past A tender voice cries out and shelters you, "Mine is a love that will last." When it seems your heart is hardening And you sense that there's a blindness Remember the Lord Himself has called you And drawn you with lovingkindness. When the hurting is so very real And the pain seems to touch your soul Jesus is beckoning so softly, "Come to Me. I will make you whole." When the aching inside overwhelms y…

Sandra felt as low as the heels of her shoes as she pushed against a November gust and the florist shop door. Her life had been easy, like a spring breeze. Then in the fourth month of her second pregnancy, a minor automobile accident stole her ease. During this Thanksgiving week she would have delivered a son. She grieved over her loss. As if that weren't enough, her husband's company threatened a transfer. Then her sister, whose annual holiday visit she coveted, called saying she could not come. What's worse, Sandra's friend infuriated her by suggesting her grief was a God-given path to maturity that would allow her to empathize with others who suffer. "…

Will You Be The One By: Sadie Katharine _______ Who will go to a land of poverty? Who will go to share God?s word? Souls bound for a burning eternity, All those who have never heard. Will you be the one to tell of God?s love? Will you be the one to share His grace? Will you be the one to tell of His son above? To tell of His glory and Praise? Will you be the one surrendered unto His will? Telling of all that God has done. How he came to bleed and die on Golgotha?s Hill? Will you be the one? People dying each and every day, Lost souls going to a fiery grave. Not knowing that there is another way, Will you be the one to tell them that they can be sa…

The Eye of Faith It was a Wednesday afternoon. Shrouded in a dense fog, a large steamer edged slowly forward off the coast of Newfoundland, its foghorn crying out somber notes of warning. The captain--near exhaustion from lack of sleep--was startled by a gentle tap on his shoulder. He fumed and found himself face-to-face with an old man in his late seventies. The old man said, "Captain, I have come to tell you that I must be in Quebec on Saturday afternoon." The captain pondered for a moment, and then snorted, "Impossible." "Very well," the old man responded, "if your ship can't take me, God will find some other means to take me. I have never broken a…

I wrote this poem during a very difficult time in my life. I was facing having to go disabled, losing everything we had, and having to file for bankruptcy. It was also a time when the world thought everything was going to collapse because of Y2K. If we only knew then what we know now! I have a compilation of poetry and short stories that I've written over the years, as well as a couple of books I've written that I'm editing before having them published. I hope this poem is helpful to those who read it. BT In Each Life An Original Poem by Anthony J Lanius ©Copyright October 1999 It’s strange to look back At the years that have passed Whe…
