Today, I heard someone say that there's a possibility of a draft soon.... like the United States needs more troops in order to invade Iran. I checked online to see any news articles about it... but I don't see anything. Has anyone else heard this rumor?

http://www.examiner.com/article/obama-snoops-part-2-infiltrate-target-harass-churches Basically, the government put their people in some large, mainstream Christian churches to spy on them and see if they were anti-Obama. Freedom of speech has been over for longer than we've imagined it to be. It's probably just a matter of time before they start checking out the smaller churches as well.

While many Christians today are closely monitoring the growth and activity of Islam, especially after 9/11, another religious movement has been steadily growing under the radar and could become among the largest religions in the United States in less than five years. Wicca is the fastest-growing religion in America, set to be the third largest religion by 2012, claims Marla Alupoaicei, who co-wrote the recently released book Generation Hex with fellow Christian author Dillon Burroughs. The numbers of adherents are doubling every 30 months, she says. Furthermore, every major city in the United States has networks of Wiccans, adds Burroughs. Certain parts of the…

One year into an unprecedented investigation of the thousands of rioters who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, the FBI is leaning on a band of digital investigators to both identify suspects and piece together an overwhelming mountain of evidence from that day, much of which was recorded by the perpetrators themselves. The crowdsourced effort, organized on social media last year in the wake of the Capitol attack, has affected hundreds of the more than 700 cases that federal prosecutors have brought in the past 12 months. There’s much, much more to come. The digital investigators have successfully identified hundreds of individuals who were captured on vi…

Israeli commandos storm aid flotilla; 10 killed 23 mins ago JERUSALEM – Israeli naval commandos stormed a flotilla of ships carrying aid and hundreds of pro-Palestinian activists to the blockaded Gaza Strip on Monday, killing at least 10 passengers in a predawn raid that set off worldwide condemnation and a diplomatic crisis. Israel said the forces encountered unexpected resistance as they boarded the vessels. Dozens of passengers and at least five Israeli soldiers were wounded in the confrontation in international waters. Israel's tough response triggered widespread condemnation across Europe; many of the passengers were from European countries. The raid also stra…

I thought here in America the conservative party had plenty of backstabbers, but this falls short to United Kingdom. With all the back stabbers, poor Boris Johnson, did not have a chance to do his job, starting with Ukraine, Putin must be very happy today. We’ll see who the next person will be, and let’s see how He or She stand against Putin, and inflation. I believe they may regret it.

"Scholarly discussion over the papyrus — which contains the phrase “Jesus said to them, “My wife ...” — has been intense since a Harvard scholar, Karen L. King, presented it as a fragment of a fourth-century gospel at an international conference of Coptic scholars this month in Rome." http://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/29/world/europe/vatican-says-papyrus-referring-to-jesus-wife-is-probably-fake.html?_r=0 If this was proven true would it be such a big issue that Jesus was married? I can see with the Catholics it would since they practice celibacy to mimic Jesus. It's interesting maybe more to me then others.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/03/29/students-want-ben-carson-replaced-as-commencement-speaker-after-gay-marriage/?test=latestnews Sad that a genius like this guy (and black, no less) is outed because he doesn't believe in gay marriage. Sad, that sexual orientation trumps EVERYTHING these days. Idiots.

Navy SEAL's book raises questions about bin Laden's death, report says "The author writes that bin Laden ducked back into his bedroom and the SEALs followed, only to find the terrorist crumpled on the floor in a pool of blood with a hole visible on the right side of his head and two women wailing over his body. Bissonnette says the point man pulled the two women out of the way and shoved them into a corner and he and the other SEALs trained their guns' laser sites on bin Laden's still-twitching body, shooting him several times until he lay motionless. The SEALs later found two weapons stored by the doorway, untouched, the author said.' Real heroes, right, killing, …

Statement on Calvinism sparks blog discussion "Any post here on Calvinism tends to descend into mudslinging within about 50-75 comments," Miller, senior pastor of Southern Hills Baptist Church in Sioux City, Iowa, bemoaned. He urged readers to "demonstrate a passion for the unity of the body of Christ" that is "as great or even greater than our passion for our doctrinal systems." My intention is not to start a debate on Calvinism. But the portion of the article I posed above seems to be true. A debate on this subject generally leads to some one doing a bit of mudslinging. It seems in the past few years there is a big attempt to bring Calvinism into many Baptist Chur…

Cadbury says Chinese-made chocolate have melamine 1 hour, 3 minutes ago HONG KONG - A Cadbury spokesman says preliminary results show its Chinese-made chocolates contain the industrial chemical melamine. The spokesman said Monday it was too early to say how much melamine the chocolates contained. He declined to give his name because of company policy. Cadbury said earlier the tests "cast doubt" on the safety of its Chinese-made products but didn't elaborate. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080929/ap_ ... ate_recall

Before you answer, digest the following information. Michael E. Guest (born 1957) was the U.S. Ambassador to Romania, appointed by President George W. Bush. Guest was sworn in by U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell on September 18, 2001 and took up his duties on September 24, 2001. During his speech at Guest's swearing-in ceremony in the State Department Diplomatic Reception Room, Powell explicitly noted the presence of and positively recognized Guest's life partner, Alex Nevarez. LGBT rights groups viewed Guest's appointment, and Powell's remarks, as historic and indicative of greater recognition of gay State Department employees and same-sex partners. Socially conser…

Harry Belafonte, MSNBC criticized over 'jailing Republicans' remarks “That there should be this lingering infestation of really corrupt people who sit trying to dismantle the wishes of the people, the mandate that has been given to Barack Obama, and I don’t know what more they want,” he said. “The only thing left for Barack Obama to do is to work like a third world dictator and just put all these guys in jail.” Belafonte went on to claim that Republicans are "violating the American desire" by working to keep government limited, taxes low and the country solvent. Sharpton was clearly amused by the suggestion – and could be heard laughing in the background." For full s…
