Rising global food prices an ‘extreme poverty’ crisis By Josh Brown - The Washington Times 6:54 p.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2011 Skyrocketing global food prices have pulled more than 40 million people into “extreme poverty” and have almost reached the levels of June 2008, when the world was rocked by food riots. “The Bank‘s Food Price Index shows food prices are now 29 percent higher than they were a year ago and only three percent below the peak of the last food crisis in June 2008,” World Bank Group President Robert Zoellick stated Tuesday. “Clearly, this is serious cause for concern.” According to the newest Food Price Watch, the foods with the sharpest price…

Wow, Ron Paul won the straw poll today. I'm shocked. That really shows a tremendous hate for Obama for him to actually win a vote like that...the country is ready for a dramatic change. I'm really not a Ron Paul supporter...I mean, I'd vote for him I guess.... to me he's a bit extreme but that's why it shocks me he won the straw poll.

Brownsburg church promotes God as an expert on sex By Josh Duke Indianapolis Star Feb. 21, 2011 Posters, banners and even drink coasters are popping up around Brownsburg showing a picture of a man with eyes and mouth wide open and asking: "What happens when God gets between the sheets?" South Dakota Moves To Legalize Killing Abortion Providers A bill under consideration in the Mount Rushmore State would make preventing harm to a fetus a "justifiable homicide" in many cases. By Kate Sheppard on Tue. February 15, 2011 3:00 AM PDT A law under consideration in South Dakota would expand the definition of "justifiable homicide" to include killings that are intended to prevent harm to a fetus—a move that could make it legal to kill doctors who perform abortions. The Republican-backed legislation, House Bill 1171, has passed out of committee on a nine-to-three party-line vote, and is expected to face a floor vote in the state's GOP-dominated House of Repre…

Jordan minister dubs Israel girls' killer 'hero' By Ahmad Khatib (AFP) – 19 hours ago AMMAN — Jordan's justice minister on Monday described a Jordanian soldier serving a life sentence for killing seven Israeli schoolgirls in 1997 as a "hero," drawing an expression of "revulsion" from Israel. "I support the demonstrators' demand to free Ahmad Dakamseh. He's a hero. He does not deserve prison," Hussein Mujalli, who was named minister last week, told AFP after taking part in the sit-in held by trade unions. "If a Jewish person killed Arabs, his country would have built a statue for him instead of imprisonment." Mujalli, a former president of the Jordan Bar Associati…

Why the Muslim Brotherhood Will Win Egyptians also support a more expansive role for Islam in Egyptian life. In Pew polling conducted last year, almost half (48 percent) say that Islam plays a large role in politics in Egypt, and an overwhelming majority – 85 percent – say Islam’s influence in politics is positive. Only 2 percent say its influence is negative. Not surprisingly, almost two-thirds of Egyptians told Zogby that Egyptian life would improve when clerics play a more central role in the political life of the country. Egyptians also support the central elements of Shariah Law. For example, 84 percent say that apostates, or those who forsake Islam, should face …

Police: 3 die in truck collision with school buses I am surprised there isn't more school bus wrecks. I've seen several dangerous school bus drivers over the years, called in on 3 of them, reported a 4th. Yet the ones I reported kept right on driving as is and the school personal seemed ticked off that I had the nerve to call in saying they had a bad bus driver. One of which ran a stop sign, one passing in a no passing, another one speeding, running nearly 70 in a 55 MPH zone. The 4th one pulled out right in front of me, throwing students into the middle ailed of the bus, I could see children looking straight at me through the side windows wondering if I was going to …

Islamist Tells Hannity: U.S. Will Fall to Sharia A Muslim cleric Wednesday said Egypt will be ruled by Sharia law and eventually the United States – and the whole world – will fall to radical Islam. In a heated interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, Sheik Anjem Choudary also called for the destruction of Israel, saying the Jewish state needs to be “repelled” for what it has done to Muslims. No doubt thats their goal, yet many don't believe it. All I can say is there be many that do not believe in 'Old Satan,' 'the Prince of the Power of the Air' neither.

Christian communities could disappear from the faith's birthplace in the Middle East because of persecution and low birth rates, the Council of Europe's parliament warned Thursday. Skip related content "The Assembly is convinced that the loss of Christian communities in the Middle East would also endanger Islam as it would signal the victory of fundamentalism," a resolution approved by the 318-member body said. It condemned the October 2010 massacre of worshippers in the Syriac Catholic cathedral in Baghdad and the January 2011 suicide bombing in a Coptic church in Alexandria as two "particularly tragic" events in a growing number of attacks on Christian communities …

Glenn Beck criticizes Alabama governor Robert Bentley's remarks on non-Christians Press-Register (Alabama) Jan. 24, 2011 When you are a Republican and even Glenn Beck is joining the chorus of liberal critics about something you have said, you know you’re in trouble. Count the Fox News and radio talk meister among those upset by Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley’s inauguration day remarks that non-Christians are not his brothers. Beck replayed Bentley’s comments for his nationally syndicated radio audience last week. Beck also played Bentley’s apology, in which he said he needed to choose his words more carefully. Beck said the problem was with the sentiment, not the …

http://nation.foxnews.com/muslim-brotherhood/2011/02/01/white-house-gives-thumbs-muslim-brotherhood Now it is my editorializing with the description of this thread. But I don't understand how it is okay in other parts of the world for those who are considered (mind you I am not defending the Muslim Brother Hood) against a particular form of or government, but in the freest country in the world if we protest our government we are considered, un-American, anti-government, down right wicked. Just wondering, I served in the USMC at a time when we were the wicked ones defending the right of those calling us that, the right to do so. There you go just a rant, I reckon.…

38th annual March for Life the biggest and most enthusiastic ever! As hundreds of thousands of pro-life advocatesmake their way to the Supreme Court today, they are focused on two key battles: combating the pro-abortion agenda of President Barack Obama and stopping taxpayer funding of abortions. Proverbs 18:5 It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to overthrow the righteous in judgment. I'm a pro-life supporter. So what is your opinion on abortion?
