Obama Must Obey the Court on Obamacare Hasn't Mr. Obama made it clear that he is above the law by stating that the Defense of Marriage Act is unconstitutional and that he will not defend it? Of course most presidents have shown many times that they feel they're above the law, as do most elected officials. Its all part of the American way and Americas have let them get by with it. Just as a young wet behind the ear state trooper the other day, passed us with his lights going quite fast, we finally caught up with him, he was walking out of the convenience store with a gallon of milk.

Rumblings of Gay Acceptance on Christian Campuses by Cathleen Falsani The Christian Century Mar 01, 2011 (RNS) Late last week, the provost of Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn., announced that the school officially had recognized its first gay student organization. The announcement came barely a month after the Christian school changed its anti-discrimination policy to include homosexuals, after a popular women's soccer coach was forced out last December because her lesbian partner was expecting a child. The gay student group had twice been turned down for official recognition. Belmont Provost Thomas Burns said the change of mind reflected an "ongoing cam…

Pope Exonerates Jews for Jesus' Death FoxNews.com 03/02/11 VATICAN CITY – Pope Benedict XVI has made a sweeping exoneration of the Jewish people for the death of Jesus Christ, tackling one of the most controversial issues in Christianity in a new book. In "Jesus of Nazareth-Part II" excerpts released Wednesday, Benedict explains biblically and theologically why there is no basis in Scripture for the argument that the Jewish people as a whole were responsible for Jesus' death. Interpretations to the contrary have been used for centuries to justify the persecution of Jews. While the Catholic Church has for five decades taught that Jews weren't collectively respo…

1st Amendment protects military funeral protesters 1 hr 29 mins ago WASHINGTON – The Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that the First Amendment protects fundamentalist church members who mount anti-gay protests outside military funerals, despite the pain they cause grieving families. The court voted 8-1 in favor of the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kan. The decision upheld an appeals court ruling that threw out a $5 million judgment to the father of a dead Marine who sued church members after they picketed his son's funeral. Chief Justice John Roberts wrote the opinion for the court. Justice Samuel Alito dissented. Roberts said free speech rights in the First Am…

IFI E-Alert: Homosexual Activists Go After Illinois Religious Organizations by Laurie Higgins, Director of IFI's DSA -Illinois Family Institute Homosexual activists emboldened by Illinois' civil union law are attempting to force Christian agencies that receive state funds to license foster families either to place children with homosexuals or lose state funding, which would jeopardize the placements of thousands of children. The Chicago Tribune reports that Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan, Gov. Pat Quinn and the Department of Children and Family Services are investigating these Christian foster care agencies for discrimination because of their religiously bas…

President Obama orders Justice Department to stop defending constitutionality of Defense of Marriage Act. How can the President simply instruct government not to enforce or defend laws? This is akin to the Democrats in Wisconsin and Indiana running away from their responsibilities just because it is difficult and they want to take their ball home! I have now lost any of the tiny bit of respect I did have for the Democratic party leadership (and I only a smidgen left for Republicans)!

I just read an article in the Sword of the Lord, February 18, 2011 issue, page 2 bottom left, that says that Christian persecution is higher in Iraq than any other country. Isn't that something considering what American did for, or should say having interfered in their business. Perhaps Mr. Bush should have kept our soldiers at home. It seems helping people overseas in reality makes them hate us even more, especially Christians. Could it be that they think the United States of America, its president, is not president of this world and should leave them alone until help is asked for. Besides, how can we help others when are we broke, that is the cookie jar is empty, and ou…

Mideast turmoil rattles Iran-Saudi standoff By BRIAN MURPHY, Associated Press Brian Murphy, Associated Press – 44 mins ago DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – Saudi Arabia's rulers answered the Arab world's winter of rage with money: throwing $36 billion into housing and other social assistance channels in attempts to quell rumblings of dissent. Iran's president offered more bombast as Tehran tries to project sympathy for protesters. The two approaches this week — largesse versus rhetoric — captures the style and stakes for the region's heavyweight rivals as Iran hunts for gains and Saudi tries hard to stamp out any threats. Already, the region has been reshaped by the …

Oil prices hit $100 per barrel By CHRIS KAHN, AP Energy Writer Chris Kahn, Ap Energy Writer – 41 mins ago NEW YORK – Oil prices hit $100 per barrel for the first time since 2008, driven by growing concerns about global supplies, as Libya's Moammar Gadhafi continued to lose his grip on the oil-rich country. Similar uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt earlier this month already had markets on edge before protests escalated in Libya, which has the biggest oil reserves in Africa. The rebellion widened Wednesday as protesters overwhelmed government buildings and advanced around Tripoli, the capital. West Texas Intermediate crude for April delivery jumped $2.68, or 2.8 percen…

I don't know how many people have seen what is going on in Wis. There is a stink going on between the unions and the Gov. over pay and there being money to pay them. Some of it has to do with collective bargaining, (of which they could not accomplish even before the Rep. Gov. got voted into office.). Anyhow I saw this sign at the protest and wonder what will we sell our beliefs for,: Born Again Prolife Fundamental Baptist Turned Democrat Thanks to Steve Walker Steve Walker is the new Gov. of Wis.

Iowa's Girl Wrestlers: Some Drama, Some Sport by MIKE MALLOY Des Moines (Ia.) Register Feb. 17, 2011 The crowd cheered as Cassy Herkelman’s hand was raised, but the historic moment of the first girl to win a match at the traditional state wrestling meet comes with an asterisk. Her opponent, Joel Northrup of Linn-Mar of Marion, forfeited. Northrup did not speak with the media, but did release a written statement: “I have a tremendous amount of respect for Cassy and Megan (Black, the tournament’s other female entrant) and their accomplishments. However, wrestling is a combat sport and it can get violent at times. As a matter of conscience and my faith, I do not b…

Churches Open Doors to Muslim Worship By Lauren Green February 18, 2011 FoxNews.com They see it as their Christian duty. But others disagree, saying it extends the hand of fellowship where it was never intended to go. Two Protestant churches are taking some heat from critics for opening their church buildings to Muslims needing places to worship because their own facilities were either too small, or under construction. Heartsong Church in Cordova, Tenn., let members of the Memphis Islamic Center hold Ramadan prayers there last September. And Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Alexandria, Va., allows the Islamic Circle of North America to hold regular Friday p…
