I got laid off today from my jOB. God is still in control, now that I don't have a jOB I am hoping to talk my parents into letting me go to school in the Spring.

Helpless, hapless, and hopeless. Hopeless- reprOBates, etc. Hapless- victimized often by others and circumstances. Helpless- All of the above, and more. Those who are deeply engulfed in sin, as a fly in a spiders web. Hopeless to defeat sin in their lives; Helpless to do anything about their state; to be what God wants them to be; Hapless to have fallen so low. Helpless in our own power; Helpless to stand against Satan’s wiles; Helpless to help ourselves. Hopeless to contend with evil; Hopeless to cope with life; Hopeless to help “work things out”. Hapless to love others; Hapless to venture onward in life; Hapless to help our families woe…

If I had my way, I would declare a moratorium on public preaching of "the plan of salvation" in America for one to two years. Then I would call on everyone who has the use of the airwaves and the pulpits to preach the holiness of God, the righteousness of God and the law of God, until sinners would cry out, "What must we do to be saved?" Then I would take them off in a corner and whisper the Gospel to them. Such drastic action is needed because we have gospel-hardened a generation of sinners by telling them how to be saved before they have any understanding why they need to be saved. --Paris Reidhead, Finding the Reality of God, pg. 54.

We will give you a medal, but you better learn to keep your mouth shut. Judging from the way they treat people it definitely is not the best and brightest who rise to leadership in the big business world. It is also the same type that rise to the top in government. I remember a line I heard about fifty years ago: "In business and government most people rise to the level of their incompetence". In other words you rise to that level at which you cannot do your job well and thus stay there and rise no further. I use to play paintball and even referee'd. I loved the sport and bought all my own equipment. One thing I looked forward to was playing with those in the military when I decided to join. I have now been in the Air Force for 4 years and have only gotten to play 1 time! How did this happen? I never thought that would happen. I need to get back into the sport again. Anyone else out there in "OB World" play or ref. paintball?

WHAT'S IN YOUR WALLET? By Mary Starrett May 30, 2009 NewsWithViews.com All the talk lately about the GOP being ?too far to the right? and needing a makeover to become ?more inclusive? has been amusing in a surreal sort of way. Mitt, Jeb and Colin along with the great preponderance of liberal media types all agree, the Republicans could be so much more ?relevant? and maybe even win an election if they?d just stop catering to those dad gum fringe fundy?s who?ve ?hijacked? the party. I?ve been searching high and low for any sign the RNC has kowtowed to the conservatives in the party. I can?t find one. What I did find was a long list of the party?s sellouts of th…

"It is a truth which will hardly be contested, that Christianity, whenever it has at all prevailed, has raised the general standard of morals to a height before unknown." A PRACTICAL VIEW OF THE PREVAILING RELIGIOUS SYSTEM OF PROFESSED CHRISTIANS, IN THE HIGHER AND MIDDLE CLASSES IN THIS COUNTRY, CONTRASTED WITH REAL CHRISTIANITY. William Wilberforce, M.DCC.XCVII. If Evolution is true... ...How do you tell right from wrong? Evolution says everything is a result of some cosmic accident billions of years ago. If this is true why do we have a conscience? The word conscience come from two words con = with and science = knowledge. When we do wrong our conscience convicts us of sin. Is it reasonable to believe that our conscience evolved or that is was given to us by our Creator. The Bible says "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." (Genesis 1:1) God has given us a way to tell right from wrong. The Ten Commandments. "Thou shalt not bear false witness...", "Thou shalt not steal.", "Thou shalt not take the name of the L…

I just read in the paper of a classmate who dies on the 28th July. Back in our school days we were rather good friends and played together quite a bit. Since graduation in 65 we have hardly seen one another, perhaps 8 to 10 times thru the years. We really never run in the same circles after graduation. He love the bottle and it caused him much grief. He marriage was to a friend of mine, that marriage was pure hell for her, there is not another word than can describe what he put her through. I forget the number of times he has been married but all of his wife's left him because of his being mean, and the mean came on him when he nursed the bottle. I've got to tell this. …

Today my wife and I have been married for 40 years, and I must say, it gets better and better all the time. She is exactly what I need concerning this life; of course, the Lord knew that and blessed me greatly in providing such a woman (a real lady) for me. Blessed be the name of the Lord for this unspeakable gift. FORTY WONDERFUL YEARS!.
