Hello everyone. I apologize that I haven't been around for awhile, but I am reaching out because I have a question about movies like "Courageous". One of our youth leaders wants to play this movie and I feel that as Christians, we should avoid this type movie. There is a good message about fathers being a strong role model and the leader of the family, but there is some violent crime scenarios which include police chases, auto thefts with babies in the back seat etc, and I feel that as the elder of the church, we would be using our time at youth group reading and discussing from God's Precious Word. Life is sorrow. Life is painful, life is suffering, fear, and trauma. Life is uncertainty, with discomfort. I have learned in my 8 yesrs of struggling that a needy is always wrong. I have been having trouble with one of my CNC machines. At first tech support said it was the controller board. So I purchased (from them) a new board with a USB interface, to replace the old one which used a serial port. Got it up and running, used it to manufacture a large 2-sided sign and completed a freebee project for my Sunday School teacher. So far so good . The new circuit board cost about $1500. About 2 weeks ago, I had another sign about 95% done when the controller stopped sending signal to the motors. I have been going back and forth with tech support evert since. It was interesting this morning in the cardiac testing center waiting area. I was listening to two younger gentlemen talking about the book of Revelation. One said that his pastor and church believed that there were several things still not accomplished yet when it came to prophecy. This past Sunday morning, taking the garbage out to the refuse bin way down our driveway, I somehow ended up face down in the gravel. My wife saw what happened and came out to help me get up from my spill. After getting back to the house we began to assess the injuries that I had sustained. God is looking for FAITH IN CHRIST...and then God will clean you ............So, God is looking for FAITH.....as that proves you have repented from your UNBELIEF.... and God takes that FAITH, and accepts that one time FAITH = forever..... and then He does this... God is Holy and we are not. So, for God to have us, is for God to join Himself to us : Spiritually. See, "God is A Spirit" and we are a spirit in a body that is not connected to God because our SIN does not allow God to have spiritual union with us. So, See the 2 fold issue? 1.) You have to become as RIGHTEOUS as God, before HOLY RIGHTEOUS God, can join Himself to you, so that you become BORN AGAIN SPIRITUALLY. 2.) Your SIN is blocking God from having you rejoined to Him in "Spiritual Union". So, GOD had to solve = these 2 issues for you, as you can't deal with your own sin, and you can't become righteous. A.) God became a man to die for all your sin, so that He can then give you HIS Righteousness. And that is what happens when you go to God with Faith in Christ. God takes the Blood and Death of Jesus and makes you sinless, as "Jesus is the ONE TIME... Eternal SACRIFICE for SIN" AND then, once your SIN is dealt with by the BLOOD and DEATH of Jesus........as He has now died for them all..... God then gives you "the Gift of Righteousness" that is "The Gift of Salvation". See that? That is to become BORN AGAIN... as a "new Creation".. "in Christ". AS = "ONE with GOD". See how simple that is, yet how amazing is this Gift of Salvation? David used to be my youth pastor at the Faith Baptist Church where I grew up. His father, Henry C. Sorenson was my pastor for nine years. David was not always KJVO', and once gave and encouraged my mother to read an NASB version of the Bible shortly after she got saved. -

Nope, she was a lost child of the Catholic Church, trusting in her works to get her to Heaven. She rejected much Scriptural truth, and made people happy/comfortable dying in their own false religions. AND no lost person can ever do "GOOD WORKS" in God's eyes. All her righteousnesses are as filthy rags (see Isaiah 64:6) compared to the pure, sinless blood of Jesus which was shed on the cross to redeem us from our sins.

Yes, and we see that exact result in those listening to Stephen's message, to some people during the time of Jesus' ministry - the fact that some people can clearly reject the Lord also means some can receive Him. If we are too dead to respond positively (ie. of you still equate physical death with spiritual death), then we are too dead to reject Him too.
