    • in fact, the continual new discoveries by scientists also makes us question, How can scientists say with such assurance that they know all about what happened 'millions of years ago', or even 'millions of light years away', as well as how global warming/cooling/climate change will effect the earth in 1000 years, when they don't even have a handle on the here and now? Every heavy storm washes up new animals from the ocean that baffle scientists, but by golly, they know all about how everything evolved from one thing to another! They don't understand how some storm activity occurs, but they will speak with assurance about that planet 1000 l/y away that rains diamonds!

    • Agreeing with Jerry, in the first instance it is an unreasonable and unbiblical request, but in any case we need to look at the verse. Mat 16:27  For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. Would you show us where this verse mentions salvation AT ALL? It mentions a reward for works, but it doesn't mention salvation. And if you think it is talking about salvation, then show it WITHOUT providing other verses. You see how unreasonable that is? If you will allow other verses to be used we can easily show the exact judgement of works. You might consider 1 Cor 3: 11-15 and Rev 20:11-15.
    • One: you are never going to sort out possible Bible difficulties if you isolate passages and force them to mean something apart from the rest of Scripture. Best way to resolve a possible Bible difficulty is study out the context and then related passages. Two: the Scriptures do not contradict themselves. The whole Bible fits together. It won’t teach certain doctrines clearly all throughout the Bible and then contradict itself in another passage. Any seeming contradiction has to be interpreted in light of all of God’s Word. But in this case it is actually an easy verse to interpret. Matthew 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. The lost will be judged at the Great White Throne judgement for their wicked deeds (ie. rewarded with punishment, eternal damnation); and the saved  are going to be rewarded on their faithfulness and service to the Lord Jesus Christ (such as receiving various crowns when He returns).
    • Yes, could be a possibility. I was thinking of the same thing. Somehow there will be a remnant among them in the end times.
