Saturday, 22 November, 2008 New time, new day, but same old gospel. Today was the first day that we went out and witnessed on the Gold Coast on a Saturday afternoon. It was good to have a six man team join us today, and it was really good to have a friend from the United States of America come out witnessing with the team. Terry Berg is in country for a couple of weeks with work, but he made time to come out and hit the streets with us. For that we are very grateful, it was good to labour alongside this brother who has such a passion for the lost. Where we normally preach was shut down today due to the fact that Schoolies was beginning. Each year all year 12 gradua…

Saturday, 20 September, 2008 Driving into Brisbane city, I could not fail to notice the long line of dark storm clouds coming in from the west. Every now and then the dark line of clouds would be illuminated with flashes of lighting. This storm front was a blessing, as it would keep the crowd numbers down tonight. Which was good for us, as we only had a small team out in the Queen street mall. As I arrived in the mall the heavens opened up and the rain began to fall, so I quickly made my way across to King George Square to meet up with the other members of the team. Once at the square we had a problem as there wasn?t anywhere to take shelter from the rain, so eventu…

Saturday, 15 November, 2008 Another day, and yet another chance to make known the glorious gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! Many people look forward to the weekend, as it means time off work, and a chance to go out and party, whereas I spend all week looking forward to the weekend, as I get a chance to preach the gospel. It was the same routine as normal tonight we met in King George Square, we had some time of fellowship, Bible reading and corporate team prayer. For those of you who read this who are currently serving in an evangelism team or lead an evangelism team, seek to make a time of team prayer, as it is vital to any evangelistic outreach. The…

Saturday, 8 November, 2008 As I sat in my study this afternoon, I couldn?t help but notice the fact that way out across the western skyline there was a band of long dark storm clouds, this is never an encouraging sign when you do street evangelism. So I quickly logged onto the internet and checked out the weather, and all this did was confirm my thoughts, we were in for a wet night in Brisbane city. Since rain was inbound, I thought it wise to go check the back of my car to see if we had umbrellas and a tarp to cover our stuff. Wet weather evangelism, never fun, but the gospel will still go forth. As I arrived in Brisbane the heavens began to open up and some light r…

Saturday, 1 November, 2008 ?beep?beep?beep?beep?? my alarm sounded all to early this morning, as I rolled over and looked at the clock I saw that it was 7am, which was not cool considering I didn?t get home from work till after 1am, and then time I got to bed it was near on 3am. Instantly my mind began to give me many reasons to punch the alarm and then roll back over to get a few more hours of sleep. Surely, I could skip the evangelist conference I was planning on attending this morning, after all it is only a ?conference? and not evangelism, they would hardly notice me missing. But, as I lay there I began to think about how good it would be to spend the morning wit…

Friday, 24 October, 2008 Sun, sand, surf and sin? that is what makes up the Gold Coast each year when the Indy carnival roles into town. For the past few years I have gone down to witness on the Gold Coast during this time, and have found it to be a good place to tell of the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ. While the atmosphere is talk and the hearts of men evil, I have found that the light of the gospel shines all the brighter when surrounded by the love of sin. This year people were upset on the Gold Coast, for a tradition has been that women would flash their breasts at people, however, the government has cracked down on this and made it illegal. Many peop…

Saturday, 18 October, 2008 The night was going to be a good one, and I was really excited about the prospect of witnessing to the lost tonight, however, I did have one concern, and that was the fact that we were down on preachers tonight. But, my rest is in the Sovereignty of God, and the knowledge that He will provide. I handed out tracts on my way to King George square, and it was real encouraging to see many people reading gospel tracts and then passing them on to their friends to read also. Once in King George we met for a time of prayer and bible reading as per usual, and then we headed up to the Queen Street Mall. We were blessed tonight to have …

Saturday, 4 October 2008 Once again I was blessed with the privilege of being able to head out to the Queen Street Mall to tell people about the good news that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. Tonight, I was expecting a smaller team, but, even though the numbers may have been few we could still reach out to those who are dead in sin. We followed the usual pattern of things, prayer, bible reading and then some fellowship before the outreach. It was good to have Peter rejoin us after he had been away on holidays for a couple of weeks. While we were having a time of fellowship we spotted a sign in the bus shelter that was advertising some breath mints …

Saturday, 11 October, 2008 I was woken up by the sound of an alarm somewhere in my room, as the noise began to filter into my ears, a thought ran through my mind ?Do I have to get up?? As I rolled over to try and find where my alarm was, I saw the clocked and realized that I had only had about four to five hours sleep. Instantly my brain began to create excuses on why I should stay tucked up in bed on this wet morning. But, my alarm was persistent, it kept on bellowing out its call to awake, so after finding the alarm I was finally awake enough to realize that I had to hurry, as I didn?t have much time before I was due to leave for the Queensland Baptist Convention. No…

There are 2 jobs God has given to us far above everything else He has us to do, and they are to serve Him (love, God's Will, surrounder, etc...) and to tell others about Christ. With that know to each and every one of us (the ones that have surrounder to God's Will), each person created the way God wanted us to be, along with Free Will, we have our own personiality. I am a Soul Winner myself, and I like to give advice to people to help witness to others, but its always good for me to take advice from others at well. So I am interested on how others work, and how they give out the story of Christ, Jesus. (And here is a funny little sense of humor, Christ is not His l…

Saturday, 27 September 2008 Tonight, I was really excited about the prospect of being bale to go into Brisbane city and make Christ known. The more I think about the great news of the gospel, the more I long to tell people of Jesus Christ, while this mindset may result in many people mocking or scorning, I really couldn?t care less. Those who mock (some of them being readers) can go on and keep mocking, but I will keep telling you of the love of Christ, and how He can forgive all your sins, if you would repent and trust in Him. This morning was spent at the new evangelist mentoring program that Graham Sercombe has started, this mentor program that has started appear…

Why do baptists always go to ROMANS ROAD when you as them about salvation? Why don't the go down the straight and narrow road that Jesus laid out. Jesus said pick up your cross and follow me not pick up your cross and follow Paul. Jesus fullfilled the Law and so should we. Jesus explained the law in a way that is easy to understand. The whole law is Love God First then Love others as you love your self. To tell people all you have to do is call upon the name of the Lord and then your saved is foolish. Your giving people a license to sin. Jesus said you must be more righteous than the pharasies. Daniel said those who bring many to righteousness will shine as brite…

Saturday, 13 September 2008 After having a crazy week at work (a customer tried to stab with a bayonet), I was looking forward to the ?calm? of going out to the streets of Brisbane city and preaching the gospel. We arrived as usual at 7:30pm, and we were met with some brothers from way up north, who had come down to spend the night witnessing in Brisbane, then we were joined by Andrew Walkington from Sydney, and later Max also from New South Wales. It is always good to have visitors with us, as it gives us a chance to build each other up in the most holy faith. After spending some time in prayer and fellowship we went to our normal spot in the Queen Street Mall, …

I'm looking for some help. I'll be graduating college in December, and need to start looking for a job. Problem is, I can't take a job until I know of a good church to go to. I don't know where I'm going to be moving in America--or even elsewhere. Just need to find a church and a job, and see where God leads. Romans 3:19-20 "Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin." I'm looking for a church that uses the law in eva…

Does Anybody Hear Her She is running A hundred miles an hour in the wrong direction She is trying But the canyon's ever widening In the depths of her cold heart So she sets out on another misadventure just to find She's another two years older And she's three more steps behind Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see? Or does anybody even knows she's going down today Under the shadow of our steeple With all the lost and lonely people Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see? She is yearning For shelter and affection That she never found at home She is searching For a hero to ride in To ride in and …

Saturday, 6 September, 2008 The first week of spring had arrived, but you couldn?t have told it based on how cold it was in the Queen Street Mall. As we arrived we were hit by a icy blast of wind, and this maintained throughout the night. One thing that immediately stood out to our attention was the fact, that the city was near on deserted, which was a major swing from the week previous, when there was hardly space to walk up the mall. As normal we spent some time in prayer, and reading the Bible as a team in King George Square, before we started the night of ministry. We were a little disappointed as the week previous it was reported to us that Alex the agnostic w…

Saturday, 30 August, 2008 The busiest day of the year for us had arrived! Every year at this time Brisbane city goes into party mode as the city has a big ?River festival?, while the party goes for a week, tonight is the biggest night of them all, as it is ?River Fire? night, a night when tons of fireworks go off, and an F-111 from the Royal Australian Air Force does a dump and burn. Since this is always a good light show to watch a couple of hundred thousand people crammed themselves in around the Brisbane CBD and river. Since the city was bursting at the seams, we had to get to the city a bit earlier, this was to get a car park, and to also hand out many tracts. …

Saturday, 23 August, 2008 After being away from Brisbane for a week, I was quite excited at the prospect of being able to preach once again in the Queen Street Mall. While it is always a joy to preach elsewhere, and while I loved preaching in Adelaide, there is just something about coming home and preaching in your regular spot. We met did all the normal things, prayer, bible reading, and then a time of fellowship was enjoyed by those present. Once 9pm rolled around, it was no longer a fellowship time, but now it was a time to go out and witness to those who did not know Jesus Christ. Ryan was the first preacher up for the night, and he wasn?t long into the preach…

1 Corinthians 9:13 Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? 14 Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel. 15 But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void. 16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! 17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against…

This is being posted by Mrs. Harjo (can't find the settings to change it to Mrs. instead of Mr lol) There are not many good-hearted souls that are willing to go out door-to-door like the Lord commands any more. Since we are so few in number, don't you think our soul winning ought to be more effective? Some may ask, "What is the secret to effective Soul Winning?" That is a very good question. Is there a guarantee that you will win someone to the Lord when you go out? We certainly don't want to be someone who thinks if they simply repeat a prayer without a willing heart that we are doing our job. It's sad to say, many of our 'so called' converts are exactly that…

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. 1 Peter 1:18-21 Before the coming of the Lord, there was a lamb. A wee little thing of purest white, without blemish, the best in the bunch. We know that the sacrifice of the lamb meant for…

Saturday, 9 August, 2008 I had been in bed all week with a bad dose of the flu, so I had decided that I shouldn?t preach tonight, unless I inflame my sickness. As I drove into the city, I was hit constantly with the feeling of illness and also with head-spins, but the thought of being able to hit the streets of Brisbane was one that encouraged me to keep on going. The night was cold, and it was surprising that we had such a small team gather for prayer and bible reading. At this stage there was only three of us present, so we were bracing for the fact that it may be a very busy night for us. After spending time in fellowship we made our way up to our preaching spo…

Saturday, 2 August 2008 I was excited about tonight and as I was preparing for to leave home the idea of being able to stand and preach once again the glories of Christ was really awesome. What privilege we have as fallen human beings to stand and give testimony about our great and merciful God who saved us not because of anything we have done, but rather He saved us by His grace alone, so that He may get all the praise! It is a tremendous honour for any Christian then to stand and declare the good news of salvation to anyone who would listen. And to also plead with them, to look unto Jesus Christ and be saved. When Andre, Tamara, and I arrived in Brisbane, the first…
