My church has a strong conviction against CCM and worldly music. We use our hymn book during worship service, so most of the Christian songs I know is only what is found on our hymn book. I am just wondering if there is such a thing as Christian love songs or all songs should only be for the Saviour. If there is, can you tell me the title or can you post the lyrics? Lastly, if you are married what was your wedding song?.. I'm just curious. God Bless you all. Jeny

[tube][/tube] "This song was written by Abigail Miller. Our mixed trio sang this song for our annual student convention (we won first place) and it was requested that we sing it again for the 2005 graduation ceremony. It was a blessing to many people, and I hope that you are blessed by it too."

[tube][/tube] Info: This song was the result of a discussion (not to say argument) I had with my brother-in-law about the "wine" Jesus created at the Wedding in Cana of Galilee. It is my belief that the wine He created was unfermented wine as though pressed fresh from the grapes. My brother-in-law's view is that Jesus created fine distilled wine. If He did, in my opinion, He would have been inconsistent with His own testimony. These passages, I believe, support my point of view. Wine is a mocker, Strong drink is raging: And whosoever is deceived thereby Is not wise. Who hath woe? Who hath sorrow? Who hath contentions? They that tarry long at the wine; They t…

I was wondering what your views were along the lines of Southern Gospel... Groups such as: The Hoppers, The Crabb Family, Gaither, etc...

ROCK OF AGES Rock of Ages, cleft for me, Let me hide myself in Thee; Let the water and the blood, From Thy wounded side which flowed, Be of sin the double cure; Save from wrath and make me pure. Not the labor of my hands Can fulfill Thy law?s demands; Could my zeal no respite know, Could my tears forever flow, All for sin could not atone; Thou must save, and Thou alone. Nothing in my hand I bring, Simply to the cross I cling; Naked, come to Thee for dress; Helpless look to Thee for grace; Foul, I to the fountain fly; Wash me, Savior, or I die .

We sang this song in church this morning and it really encouraged me because we are not perfect but we are sinners saved by grace. Only a Sinner Naught have I gotten but what I received; Grace hath bestowed it since I have believed; Boasting excluded, pride I abase; I'm only a sinner, saved by grace! Refrain Only a sinner, saved by grace! Only a sinner, saved by grace! This is my story, to God be the glory- I'm only a sinner, saved by grace! Once I was foolish, and sin ruled my heart, Causing my footsteps from God to depart; Jesus hath found me, happy my case; I now am a sinner, saved by grace! Refrain Tears unavailing, no merit had I; Mercy had sa…

Amy Grant is a complete hypocrite. She says that she's for God and sings songs about him. Then she goes and gets divorced and remarried and has shown no repentence or sorrow for this sin.

I know it's frowned upon to listen to any type of music that is contemporary in nature... but coming from a Charismatic background... I'm used to listening to music with a beat. However, I do not feel wordly or have worldly desires when I listen to praise and worship music, such as: "Shout to the Lord", "From The Inside Out", or "Awesome God" or any of those... Now I don't really enjoy the rock/rap movement within the Christian music industry... These songs do put me in membrance of Christ and His sacrifice and free gift of Salvation... and I give Him glory. Am I sinning since I do not feel convicted by listening to these songs?

I was just wondering if anyone would share what hymns they feel are unBiblical or otherwise bad because of who wrote it. In other words, are there any mainstream hymns that anyone here doesn't approve of and why?

Great Hymns of Faith You will find all 538 hymns from the Great Hymns of Faith song book at this site: http://www.greathymns.org/ I'm fairly certain you may even find 200 to 250 of them that you can lift your hands in praise to the Lord God Almighty!

This is something that I've forgotten the argument against such things. Give me a good Bible answer. Tell me why such amazing ministries and music is so evil and wrong.

I just got the latest Casting Crowns cd today and the first song is called "What This World Needs." I've listened to just that song several times now because it's got really amazing lyrics. It's what I like about this group, they don't mince words. Here's the song on youtube: ****Moderater edited to remove music clip***** For those who don't like that kind of music, here are the lyrics: What this world needs Is not another one hit wonder with an axe to grind, Another two bit politician peddlin` lies, Another three ring circus society. What this world needs Is not another sign wavin` super saint that's better than you, Another ear pleasin` candy man afraid of …

Let me start with, yes, it may have already been discussed, but I'm a newbee and am going to ask anyway. I would like to hear some different perspectives on music for worship services including "specials" as they say. Let also say, I am not trying to start a huge debate or argument. I have heard it said that music should be limited to hymns and even with no piano all the way to Christian rock is suitable for specials. Now I don't think there is even a question when it comes to the "Christain rock", but what about milder forms of praise music or southern gospel? Any tasteful and respectful opinions on this. (It is always best to provide scripture to back your doctrin…

Have you ever walked into Walmart or another store and heard a song that was other than a Christian Hymn, and you started singing or humming along with it because you used to listen to that song? Well, count that problem solved! When your foot starts tapping the beat, start singing a well known hymn such as Amazing Grace, or Jesus Loves Me :sing:. It might not work the first few times you try, but you have to somehow tune those songs out in order to be seperate from the world. You could even try quoting a verse that you have memorized , or start praying :pray . If you ACTUALLY try, it will be easy.

Video of my husband (Standing Firm In Christ) singing at our church with the Gospel Sounds from Lannie Road Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL. The video isn't the best because this was done without practicing and also proper video equipment...so the lighting is poor. I videoed it with my little digital cam. The video was done almost a year ago...just got it downloaded to this site: http://s257.photobucket.com/albums/hh239/standingfirm/?action=view¤t=InAMoment.flv Enjoy! The lyrics can be found here: http://www.onlinebaptist.com/messageboards/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=7615&p=133381#p133381

I am off rock music, and hoping to set the tone in my household, but I find it difficult to find truly good music. Yes, I know hymns are great, but I am also looking for stuff that can just be going at home when doing other things. We currently listen to some classical guitar etc, and this is fine, but am looking for spiritual music. Any one know any sites, and or dowloadables? Any suggestions? Love the old stuff, but looking for music that has been recorded well, with good sound quality. In Christ, Carlos.

This song is done by a country gospel group. It is in reference to "gay" marriage...it has a good message. Be warned, though, for those who don't like it, it is definitely country. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Xzp0S3yO1QA

We found a violin on CraigsList for $75. I'd seen them priced much, much higher elsewhere, so we jumped at the chance and bought it. Me, my wife and two of our four kids are wanting to learn it. My wife is posting violin lessons she found on YouTube on her blog (http://lindacarlton.net) for the family to use. So far it's been much easier to learn than we thought. While I can play the piana, the recorder and the harmonica, Linda can't play any musical instrument. Bioth of us have been struggling to learn the guitar, but there's such a hefty learning curve at the very beginning of learning it that neither of us have gotten far. I'd say I'm about 2 or 3 days away from being …
