I grew up with these men at the Faith Baptist Church of Pekin, IL during the 70s...until their father was called to go to seminary in Pontiac, MI. The Tharp Brothers are good singers, preachers and have their children in Christian service! Praise the Lord for good, sound music, and for faithful ministers of the Word. The link below is the Tharp Brothers singing at NBBC.

Johann Sebastian Bach, 1685-1750, was a composer who used his talents for the glory of God in music. Bach said, "The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul." "O Sacred Head, Now Wounded" Lyrics included by Bach The classical music by Bach does glorify God and is able to refresh the soul. Alan

Hope the song, 'Be Still My Soul,' by Bridget Young, is a blessing to your heart as you meditate on the things of God in your life. "But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him. Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah." Psalm 4:3-4 God bless you all. Alan

Music is as a soothing balm for the soul. The Lord would have us to have a joyful spirit, and not be in the doldrums all the time. In fact, unless we get our eyes off Jesus, we should never be in the doldrums, but of a cheerful spirit. Psalm 100 says "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord..." Don't you think He would rather see His children come into His presence with singing (v.2), rather than a gloomy outlook? Wouldn't He have us serve Him with gladness, rather than sadness (v.2)? Singing shows a glad heart; a glad heart shows contentment; contentment shows a Great Provider. It glorifies the Lord in the face of His enemies. Ephesians 5:19 says it best: "Speaking to yo…

Have faith in God 1) Have faith in God when your pathway is lonely, He sees and knows all the way you have trod; Never alone are the least of His children; Have faith in God, Have faith in God. Chorus: Have faith in God, He's on the throne; Have faith in God, He watcheth o'er His own; He cannot fail, He must prevail; Have faith in God, Have faith in God. 2) Have faith in God when your prayers are unanswered, Your earnest plea he will never forget; Wait on the Lord, trust His Word and be patient; Have faith in God he will answer yet. Chorus 3) Have faith in God in your pain and your sorrow,His heart is touched with your grief and despair; Cast all your cares and …

I never knew until last year when it was announced that singer James Thurston Nabors had married his man friend that he was a homosexual. I always assumed that he was a heterosexual since he is a Baptist. But of course since singer James Thurston Nabors is a homosexual than he is not on the membership roll of the Baptist Church he attends. If Nabors does not repent of his homosexuality and embrace Jesus as his Savior and Lord then he will be spending eternity in Hell. I always liked Nabors Easy Listening and Gospel Music songs. I still do. I will not cease listening to Nabors just because he is a pervert.
