Of course, we should all preach what the Lord has laid on our hearts through prayer and searching the Scriptures, but what types of messages do you most like to preach? I only preach at the Gospel Mission, so my messages are mainly geared towards the lost, except for possibly a little bit of extra exhortations to the saved. Every message I preach, no matter what subject, I always take it to the cross - whether salvation is just a part of what is covered or the whole theme. Also, my messages are between 7-10 minutes on the average (except for several I preached at the Senior's home - which were about 20 minutes), so they are limited in scope and cannot compare to an act…

Time are changing and so are the baptist doctrine. I don’t know if Christians, are now more open to women preachers. It seems that they are opening to more liberal views, and life styles.

Bro Markle In what "voice" is the word "ordained" as used here? Thanks Acts 13:48 "And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed."

Giving the Gospel / Are You Ashamed of Christ? I had intended on writing a SHORT encouraging note to others about sharing the gospel. That truly was my main intent prior to setting about to type some thoughts and copy corresponding scripture down... But as often happens, the Lord put something else on my heart. I recently had a discussion with a fellow believer who admitted that he or she rarely shared the gospel with others. Since the conversation was somewhat recent, it may be why the Lord put it on my heart, BUT I think it may well be that it wasn't this person (in particular) but someone else (unknown to me whom) and perhaps ALL of us that could benef…

I understand the basic of God calls people is to be repentence, be saved, be baptize, be disciples, and be holy. My question is how do you know God calls you to be in the specific ministry such as a pastor, missionary, evangelism, and teacher? How do you know God calls you to a certain location where God wants you to be in? For example some bible believers was called by God to be a certain position and go a certain location then it was successful. Praise the Lord!! :yippee: Some of those bible believers thought God called them to be a certain position and go to a certain locations then it was failure. This cause them confuse what was God's purpose for them to be…

Is there any way you monitor your special music program? Do you trust the people to choose uplifting songs or do you screen the music first? Any rules on who can serve and who cannot?

Say I have a friend...and I see, through the friend, some signs that maybe there are some things going on in their marriage that are not healthy...such as man gone at work (voluntarily) too much...they don't see each other much...wife has said a few negative things although she is normally very reserved...wife comes to church some Wed nights without him...just things here and there that put up red flags. They've gone through an incredibly difficult year this past year and it seems each one is dealing in a different way...which can lead to problems IMO. I suppose its one of those things you can only pray about right? Like it would be tacky to hand them both a book on …

Why do we not hear a National call to Pray for the People of Texas and All our country? We need God but our leaders are afraid to even say the word God and to ask for prayer!!! PTL for President Trump who speaks of God more than any other national leader. But where are our "church" leaders?? How many believers live in the USA? How many "churches" in the USA ? How many millions of people in the USA could have prayed that this storm be calmed down and stopped before the damage was done But who even asked for help??? So many have been saying out loud, 'We don't want or need God" and God will not force them to accept His love, blessings and protection so they reap dest…

There are many Christians today who put God in a box and believe that He no longer administors the gift of healing, tongues, and prophecy. There are many charlatans who work false healings, tongues, and prophecy, but there are also those whom the Holy Spirit has gifted with the gift of the genuine speaking of tongues, healings, and prophecy. Oftentimes, a misinterpretation of scripture or a passage which is taken out of context is the cause of why some Christians no longer believe that these gifts are in effect today. Let us look to 1 Corinthians 13:8-13 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall ceas…

All other things being equal and God's hand appears to be in both... You have two ministry opportunities in front of you. In one, you feel supreme confidence that you can handle the new responsibilities and feel empowered to do so. In other other, you feel completely humbled by everything surrounding the opportunity and truly wonder if you're up to the task. Which path do you take? Confidence or Humility?

I was thinking about something today and maybe everyone can help me figure this out because this has been on my heart for some time now. Where is the zeal and vision of the Church anymore? We look at the seven Churches, which one are we. I haven't done allot of study on them like I should but a brother in Christ taught on the seven Churches in Revelations. We need to be revived again and ever so often reminded that there are living souls out there in this wicked world that are dying everyday. Some are going to Heaven if they have been born again by the blood of Jesus but others are lifting their eyes in hell like that rich man did and begging for peace of mind. We nee…

Hello, I have been feeling the need in my church to offer a discipleship class. We offer a number of different small classes but alot of people still seem to not get the big picture of the Bible. I have been feeling the need lately for offering an "Introduction to the Bible" class. Possibly to be followed by an "old testament survey" and "new testament survey" class. The main thing I am wondering is what topics should I cover in the into to the Bible class. I can use as many weeks as needed 6-13 or so. I am thinking of covering basic topics with a few advanced topics thrown in as rabbit trails from the basics. This is for those who are more mature in their faith. So far…

I have heard people point out how David's adultery and Samson's womanizing is not mentioned in the NT, because God overlooked their sin (forgave it, wiped it away). I always accepted that explanation - but now wanted to verify it in some way. As I was thinking about various OT characters, I cannot recall ANY of the believers' sins being mentioned in the NT. Sure, the sins of the nation as a whole - because that affected everyone - but not individual's sins. No mention of Lot's compromise in 2 Peter (just that his righteous soul was vexed by their sin); no mention of Rahab's lying in the three places she is mentioned (just her faith); no mention of Adam and Eve's fall (j…

Psalms 139:7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? Psalms 139:8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. Psalms 139:9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Psalms 139:10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. These verses would seem to indicate that God is not just with us, but also leading us even when we try to run away or flee or wallow down into the depths of misery. What do you think? I've been listening to a song about these verses and thinking about it today.

I was reading an article about Martin Luther King today. I read this in one of the comments. After I picked up my lower jaw, I wanted to post it. To be quite frank, I had never of of anything like this before. Although they did not state what religion they held to, I can only guess. Like, WOW.

Just like in politics, there are many fanatics in Christianity. There are those that are fanatic, those that can see what's going on, in their surroundings, but they are totally blind to reality. How to deal with those that are fanatics to a religion, and what the bible says.
