Was King "James Onlyism" Invented by a Seventh-Day Adventist? Some fundamentalists who are promoting modern textual criticism and who are particularly vicious toward the defense of the King James Bible, such as Bob Ross, Gary Hudson, Doug Kutilek, and the editor of From the Mind of God to the Mind of Man , are making the ridiculous and blundering accusation that the defense of the King James Bible can be traced to Benjamin Wilkinson, a Seventh-day Adventist. They claim that Wilkinson authored the view that the Traditional Text of the Protestant Reformation is the preserved Word of God that can be traced through history, and that J.J. Ray and David Otis Fuller p…

“O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!” (Romans 11:33) Scientists and philosophers have been able to learn many wonderful things about the universe when they have attempted reverently to think God’s thoughts after Him, but His majesty and purposes are still far ... “The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed.” (1 Peter 5:1) The leaders of the early churches were critical not only to the ministry of each church but also to its survival. Correspondingly, numerous New Testament passages deal with their qualific... More... View the full article

Letter to the Editor: Churches Strongly Influenced by “Religious Correctness” Dear Lighthouse Trails: Our Christian churches are being strongly influenced by what I call Religious Correctness. It is similar to Political Correctness. If you question anything, you are told to sit down and shut up. Do not rock the boat. I am a former Roman Catholic who now knows and loves Jesus Christ. In Sunday […] The post Letter to the Editor: Churches Strongly Influenced by “Religious Correctness” appeared first on . View the full article

This is an offshoot of the thread on Looking for a Local Church. I wanted to respond to the comment on pastors/children without taking that thread off-topic. I disagree with the view that a pastor must have more than one child to be legitimate. He could have no children at all and be legitimate. I believe the passage is speaking more to a leader's need to correctly train and lead whatever family God may give him. To make it say anything else puts a burden on people that they have no control over (what if there are medical reasons preventing children? or children die?).

“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.” (Colossians 3:1) Christians have a glorious position before God. As our text indicates, God has in effect already “raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (View the full article

Evolutionary Beliefs Versus the Unconquerable God By Roger Oakland and Caryl Matrisciana Through evolutionary beliefs, we can see that our culture is slamming the door on God the Creator while at the same time opening the door to the fallen spiritual realm (the demonic realm). As a result, people are increasingly embracing Satan’s false promise that they are the masters of […] The post Evolutionary Beliefs Versus the Unconquerable God appeared first on . “I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.” (John 17:6) In the wonderful intercessory prayer of Christ for His disciples just before His death, there are several important references dealing with the relation of the Christian believer to the world around him.... Some Reasons for Bible Difficulties The Bible is God’s Word. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8-9). It is not surprising that the Bible contains things hard to be understood, because it is the revelation of the omniscient, omnipotent, eternal God. “A revelation coming down from an infinite Mind to finite minds must necessarily involve difficulties. This is true of all Christian doctrine. Take for instance the doctrine of God, or immortality, or the incarnation. There is no Christia…

“Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?” (John 6:28) This question is often asked by people who try to work their way into heaven. It was also asked in various ways by men in the New Testament, and it is vitally important to get the correct answer to such questions there and nowhere else. For example, a rich young... More... Seek to Make the Church Stronger While there is a time to leave a church when it is clearly and irrevocably committed to unscriptural paths, it is also very important to do everything possible to strengthen existing churches insofar as this is possible. And regardless of how strong a church might be, there are doubtless ways it can be strengthened. A biblical church that has even many weaknesses is worth fighting for as long as there is hope of strengthening it. In regard to churches, I have two goals in my ministry. One is to strengthen existing Bible-believing churches, and the other is to encourage the establishment of new churches that are built on …

Is God Finished With Israel? We are told by many that God is finished with Israel, that she has been replaced with the church, and that the church is Zion, and the earthly Jerusalem has been replaced with the heavenly Jerusalem. We have long been told this by covenant theologians who follow the “church fathers” that devised this view. Now we are hearing replacement theology taught by some Independent Baptists. In the video Marching to Zion , Steven Anderson teaches that Israel today, the Israel that returned to the land and established a modern state, is not the Israel of the Bible. Rather, God is finished with the nation Israel and New Testament believers …

WHY THEY WERE CHOSEN (Deu 7:6 KJV) For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth. (Deu 7:7 KJV) The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: (Deu 7:9 KJV) Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations; ((Deu 7:11 KJV) Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, whic…
