Abilities 1. Availability Probably the most important ability the Christian could have is availability. Until we make our selves available, the Lord cannot use us, or at least will not. Availability means that we are willing to go wherever He commands; to do whatever He wishes; and to be whatever we are expected to be. We need to give ourselves to the Lord, and to His service, whatever level of service that may be. Many emphasize “Lordship salvation” as if that were the supreme factor in our serving the Lord, and obtaining His favor, (Andrew Murray for one), but the Bible says that it all begins with Faith: “But without faith it is impossible t…

1Romans 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. Does "all men" mean "all men" in the first clause, but not the second?

http://www.everymanministries.com/ When a man is calling himself teaching me spiritual things, and about living the Christian life, I expect him to rely heavily upon the Bible as his authority, and more specifically the King James Bible. During a teaching session about the pastor/men's relationship, this man quotes a verse out of an MV and then gives us an analogy about his dog. He says he is the "alpha male". His dog obeys nobody but him and "bullies" everyone in the house when he's away, His dog desires to please nobody but him and is always excited about fetching his ball. He says that this is the type of relationship that churchmen are supposed to …

So I just found out that "Annie" on our forum was actually Julie Herbster (the Wilds) and she just died of cancer and left behind her husband and five children. We should pray for the family.

Gal 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Gal 1:7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. "Another Gospel? I wonder if Paul had those that followed different versions, just as we do today? They may have rejected the Word of God and watered it down then too, as we see in v.7 above. It is not "another gospel", but a sham and a deliberate act to undermine the Word of God.

For a long time, I have wanted to make a list of Bible words which are used very differently today. When reading the King James Bible, I believe it is imperative that we know these as it greatly increases our understanding, especially in passages which are frequently debated. Understand that these were the original meanings, in the English language, before they were subjected to "Linguistic drift". Perhaps some of you could participate and it will be helpful to all of us. I will do the first one. 1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. …

Where, in the Bible, does it say that men are "called to preach"? And where the Bible says "if a man DESIRE the office of a Bishop",.does that mean that a man can become a "Bishop" simply because he "desires"? Note....I already understand that it means a SAVED man and that it means a MAN. Thanks

What do you think about "covering theology" ? They preach a theology of coercion and fear and that we are to love God simply because of "who he is"? So why does the Bible say we love him "because He first loved us"? We must know that before we can even know who He is.

I've come to understand that the word "Father" in the Bible doesn't always literally mean Father like it does to you and I and that it can mean grandfather, or even just a person back in our lineage (Father Abraham...). So, how is one to know if a man was TRULY someone's father, or just a relative somewhere down the line?

How well is your diet? Your spiritual diet, that is. My church was hosting a pastor's conference and one of the pastors preached out of Ezekiel 3. This portion really stuck out to me and I just wanted to share it. Ezek 3:1 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel. Ezek 3:2 So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll. Ezek 3:3 And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness. Before God sent Ezekiel out to preach, he had him eat the scroll, God's Word. How ofte…

I found this reply to an anti-Calvinism article on the SBC website. What does "glory" mean to us? The Bible speaks of people "whose glory is in their shame". I believe the proud homosexuals "coming out of the closet" glory in their shame. Those people who picket soldiers' funerals are also glorying in their own shame. Hollywood actors, rock stars, "pro choice" activists, even terrorists glory in their shameful deeds. People do despicable things and openly celebrate them with pride before all. The multitudes cheered and glorified Adolf Hitler as he spouted out aggression and hate. So what does "glory' mean to you? The Aztecs of central Mexico worshiped a g…

Godhead or Deity - Is James White Right? Colossians 2:8-9 "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, aftr the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of THE GODHEAD bodily." James White, a well known King James Bible critic, ignorantly harangues against the use of the word Godhead in the KJB. In his book, The King James Only Controversy, when discussing Colossians 2:9 Mr. White says on page 204: "Yet, the KJV rendering of this verse is probably the least clear of almost all currently available translations. How does one explain what "Godhead" means? Who really uses this term a…

Honest question: Is there a difference between inspired and given by inspiration? II Tim. 2:15-16, "And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" Consider the fact that “all Scripture is given by inspiration”, and that verse was addressed to Timothy so we know “Scripture” in that passage does not refer to the originals - because Timothy didn’t have them. Therefore Scripture, given by inspiration of God, applies to copies o…

"Ephraim is a cake not turned." (Hosea 7:8) The Lord sees Ephraim as "half-baked"! A cake not turned does not bake evenly; it is only partially baked, and therefore becomes a prOBlem instead of a blessing. No one desires a cake that is only half done! Unfortunately, people can resemble a half baked cake; the term "half baked" refers to someone that is eccentric to say the least; a foolish plan not well thought out; it is an unintelligent person who lacks the ability to reason with common sense, and it describes our service to the Lord perfectly. Let us strive to please the Lord in a well doing, and hope that our names are not added to Ephraim's in the sense o…

The repeat after me "prayer". Some call it "easy believism", I wouldn't call it that because believing takes no physical effort and Jesus said "only believe". Paul and Silas told the Philippian Jalier to "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ". I also wouldn't even call it "quick prayerism" because all the publican said was "God be merciful unto me, a sinner" and all the thief on the cross said was "Lord, remember me when thou comest to thy kingdom". All I said was to holler out "JESUS!". We all said "quick prayers" and they were all diffferent but we all three had one thing in common; we spoke directly to God earnestly from the heart. I my case, at 10 years old, the repeat …
