So far in the discussion on Ray Boltz nobody has made mention of the scriptural fallout as a result of his so-called "coming out of the closet." In other words, since Ray Boltz is a homosexual, I wonder how many of you are willing to obey the scriptures and separate from him by throwing away any and all tapes, CDs, sheet music, ect of his that you might have? 1 Corinthians 5:11 -"But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat."

I want to try to bring up this subject without addressing specific issues if possible. In God's Word it basically says that even though God specifically says its okay to eat meat, that some "weaker brethren" will still prefer to avoid it, and that that's okay too. What I find, though, is when we get on the topic of standards/seperation, that some will say that its the "weaker bretheren" that have the stronger standards. It does not, however, make sense to me that the closer we get to God, the "looser" we become in matters of worldly seperation. I understand the Biblical example of eating meat, because God specifically says "Its okay to eat meat." So to actually h…

?I have said, Ye are gods...But ye shall die like men? - Psalm 82:6-7 ?Thou shalt not revile the gods, nor curse the ruler of thy people.? - Exodus 22:28 ?he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came? - John 10:35 The true meaning of all three verses as found in the King James Bible is that the word ?gods? refers to earthly men who were given the divinely appointed office of judges who were to administer God?s laws to the common people. We see this idea from the very beginning when God appears to Moses and sends him as a lawgiver unto Israel. ?And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophe…

I have had no problem believing that the unsaved go to Hell as soon as they die (Luke 16 eg) but I once read a comment from an Evangelical Bible teacher that no-one is in Hell at the present time. This person does believe in Eternal Punishment and argues against annihilation but does not accept that the unsaved are, at present, in Hell. Your comments please.

Simple truth is, Jesus was crucified on a WEDNESDAY. There's simply no way to get three days & three nights from Friday to Sunday AM, even with Jesus being resurrected DURING the 3rd day. Good Friday is a bogus holiday, man-made by the RCC.

We had our bible study in the office this afternoon. And I told my Christian workmates that I don't agree women becoming pastors. Because it is written in the bible. There are Christian denominations here who is tolerating or accepts women as preachers. Can you site the passage in the bible where it says so women can't lead or teach in the church. Thanks!

I've known many IFBs who were against going to the beach (during swimming season--summer) because of the way men and women dress. However, I have also known many IFBs who will enjoy summertime at the beach by swimming and such. Is it ok to go to the beach if you are dressing modestly? Or is it not appropriate, because even if you are dressed modestly, you are putting yourself in a situation to surround yourself by many who are not?

What do these verses mean to you ? Titus 3:9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. Titus 3:10 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; Titus 3:11 Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

Believe it or not, I have come to the conclusion (drum roll, please) that I should have long hair. I previously fought vehemently against this because I considered it legalism and a form of self-righteousness. Now I see that my cutting my hair was a symbolic rebellion against men in my life controlling me. So this is a big deal for me. And my bangs are in my eyes and driving me crazy. But I'm letting my hair grow as a symbol and crown of my femininity.

A few years ago, the LORD started allowing my path to cross, with some Evangelists He used to change my life! I not only have learned from what they've preached, I've watched their lives! BTW, I'd recommend any of these men, at the drop of a hat! Here's a list of them. These are Evangelists and not Pastors who preach Revivals! According to Deuteronomy 14:And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the Lord thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household, it appears that God has allowed the children of Isreal to drink alcohol. He even uses the word lusteth in the verse. Is this also for the church? I'm confused. Please help.

I have posted links to this article before to answer some questions, but I find many times that the other Christians here sometimes either do not follow links to other sites or do not post their replies to the material presented. So here it is on Online Baptist. This should answer some of the questions posted recently as well. Even if you disagree with some of what I have presented here, or my own conclusions, at least please prayerfully consider the information presented as this article answers many of the questions that keep coming up. It also states why we feel so strongly on this issue. Bible Versions - Does It Matter? I have been comparing Bible v…

Im starting this thread because I can!!!! :lol Hmmm I sound like someone else... just kidding. Serously, has anyone ever seen Flywheel or Facing the Giants? There is a new one coming out by the same folks called Fireproof. Do you all have any input on these? I liked them. They were clean and nice to watch as a family not worrying about the next scene. :2cents What say you?

I keep seeing topics by Paul Chappell and then here is one by David Cloud which exposes some of Chappell's dangerous associations with CCM, Calvinists, RIck Warren, 'contemplative mysticism' etc.. Who does the owner of this forum agree with; Chappell or Cloud? http://www.wayoflife.org/index_files/paul_chappells_pragmatism_and_dangerous.html#unique-entry-id-1247

I'm curious.....how do you as an IFB view SBC? I had discussed this with someone & they (being SBC) thought IFB people feel that SBC's weren't going to heaven? I thought that was a broad statement to make and I didn't agree with their thinking. So, how do you feel about SBC? I feel that if you're in a good SBC church, in many regards it's not a lot different than IFB. Your thoughts? Details please.

I have seen a disturbing trend on this board and also in "real life". I hope everyone will understand my post as not being written in anger or meanness, but out of genuine concern. My biggest concern has been seeing this trend (which I will explain) in pastors and others in full time ministry. Our main complaint of neoevangelicism is the fact that they often change their beliefs or way of doing things in order to attract/keep the most people. However, I see this in our circles today as well. More and more I hear "People's schedules are just too tight to attend church faithfully, so we should really schedule less things. After all, its just a church building, and…

Here is a question for those who hold a favorable view toward Reformed or Calvinistic doctrine. If you had to state your two strongest positions concerning TULIP what two positions would they be? Total Depravity, Unconditional Election, Limited Atonement, Irresistible Grace or Perseverance of the Saints. Please chose the two strongest points and tell me why you hold to those points as being the strongest. I would like for this discussion to be civil and not condescending or attacking.

At the request of another member I am starting this thread to discuss the legitimacy of what is known as "Faith Promise Missions" I am for supporting missionaries financially. However, I am against Faith Promise Missions. To explain why, I am including the following link: http://www.libertygospeltracts.com/bibl ... money1.htm
