Here is a scripture where Jesus is speaking: Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come [again] unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. (John 14:28) Clearly Jesus speaks that his Father is greater. Therefor he can't be compared to Jehovah, can he? Can someone explain me this question: is Jesus inferior to his Father on earth only, or in heaven also?

A small excerpt from David Cloud: DAVE HUNT DENIES THE FIRE OF HELL (Friday Church News Notes, April 18, 2008, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - I am very sad to report that Dave Hunt, who has written some helpful books on a variety of subjects, is boldly denying the fire of hell. In an article at The Berean Call web site entitled "Justice, Forgiveness, and Transformation," dated March 31, 2008, he says that the fire is "not physical" and that it "must be the 'fire' of God's justice, holiness, purity, and truth that exposes motives and would surely torment the conscience of the damned forever." He says, "This alone could constitute the flames in the …

2Sa 21:20* And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant. Comments on the six fingers and six toes? Significance?

What are your thoughts on women working outside the home? What do you think the Bible says on this? Is it alright for a woman to work outside the home before her and her husband have children? I want to be a SAHM once we have children, I know this for sure! I've been home since we got married 2 months ago and I am beyond bored :zzzz There simply is not enough to do with just the two of us to keep me busy all day every day. I am thinking about getting a job outside of the home until we have children (and we both agreed if I do it'll all go to savings or student loans so we don't get used to living off of two incomes, then jump down to one when have kids). What do…

At church yesterday the minister used at least 15 on liners in his sermon. The associate pastor kicked off the Sunday evening sermon with a joke. Is stand up comedy part of pastoral training these days. I have heard sermons with one liner after one liner. Most of the church seems to love the comic relief. Is this something preachers are trained to do or is it just a general trend in modern preaching. I can't find anything in the scriptures to say it is wrong, but I certainly don' appreciate it.

I think most of us agree that Easter is the correct word in Acts 12:4 but for different reasons. Take a look at the myths that people present and also see what I believe is the correct view in the article in the link: Easter has always been a Christian word for the Resurrection of Christ; http://www.kjvtoday.com/home/easter-or-passover-in-acts-124

The author (no idea who he is and I've not looked beyond this article at the website I found it on) claims this to be a balanced view of this topic. Does anyone agree or disagree with him? If so, please expound. (And this author is OBviously not KJO) Predestination vs. Free Will - Is It One or the Other? by Rich Deem Introduction One of the major controversies among Christians is the extent of predestination that God has ordained. At the extremes are those who claim that God uses only one to the exclusion of the other. Either extreme is wrong, since the Bible clearly indicates that both predestination and free will are in operation. Predestination In order to fu…

The Invisible Church? I hear much today about the Universal invisible church, and how every believer everywhere is a part of the body of Christ. First let me say that the word “Catholic” means “Universal”! The Catholics boast that the priests “preach” the same message worldwide, so that if they are traveling, they can get the same message in any Catholic church they go to. I was told this by a devout catholic, so it is heresy, but it sounds like something they would come up with! Anyway, it is no spectacular thing to be part of anything that is world-wide, or “universal”. The name or title itself implies that the invisible congregation is made up of many differen…

MY brotherinlaw has a prOBlem with the practice of praying aloud as a group. He equates it with "speaking in tongues". My Wife tried to explain to him there was nothing wrong with it but, he's not convinced. I see nothing wrong with it myself, but I always want to go to the Word of God to know for sure. These are the only verses I have come up with so far: Acts 12:12, Acts 1:14 and Acts 4:24. Acts 4:24. And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is: Does anyone know of more verses?

I was at Walmart this morning, having a new battery installed in my truck, and bumped into someone I've done business with in the past. He's active in the SBC, knows I'm a Christian, invited me to a local meeting with R C. Sproul Jr. as the guest speaker. The brochure he handed me says that RCJr. is a Presbyterian: I didn't know that. Anyway, I was curious as to how his teachings compared to his Calvinist father and this was the first thing that came up:. http://rcsprouljr.com/blog/ask-rc/rc-babies-die/ That didn't appear to give a definitive answer to the question put forth and neither does this one except, in an indirect and roundabout way, to say that no: Christ is not…

We know from 1 Corinthians 11 that women are to have their head covered. What is their covering? Hair? A veil? What is it? What does the Lord say? God bless, Joel ><>. 2 Chronicles 7:14.

1 Corinthians 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. 35And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church During prayer meeting tonight, in the SBC we have been attending, a woman prayed aloud, during service, in the sanctuary. I must confess that I am still not used to that because In the IFB church I was a member of for 26 years, that was not permitted. This always puzzled me because "testifying" was always allowed and some women certainly weren't shy about exercising that pr…

If you could not find an IFB church in your area, what kind of Baptist churches would you never attend?

You know, I've always wondered, where did 10% come from? As in tithing, like: 10% for savings, and 10% for God. I know this question is sort of weird, but I do sometimes just ponder things. :2cents :2cents :2cents

Yes, no? What can we glean from the Scriptures regarding this? Let them speak. God bless, Joel ><>. 2 Chronicles 7:14.

(NOTE: my wife has already posted this on the ladies side of the house, I just wanted to get some response from the rest of you. Thanks.) hmmm. Our pastor mentioned in his sermon yesterday, that black people should marry black people and that white people should marry white people and so forth, but then he said, that this was in the KJV. He didn't give a specific reference to where this could be found (and i've never heard of this until now), and when asked about the reference, he said that he was going to give a complete sermon on it later. This is really bothering my wife and I. The only place that we can think of that mentions anything like this is in the old testam…

Hi all, I am not trying to start any disagreement, but this is something that I have struggled with for a while. What really make a church IFB? It seems that there are a lot of churches that take very different posisitions on a lot of issues and still consider themselves IFB. Your thoughts are appreciated.

Our church uses the KJV in preaching, and always uses Study materials with KJV quotes, but I am aware of another IFB in town and their website states they only use 1611 version. Forgive me for my ignorance on the issue, but what is the difference between today's common KJV and the 1611?

Lucas has just become a Christian. He wants to get a tattoo to remember the date. He decides to ask a Christian coworker if he should, as he had heard some considered tattoos wrong. What should he say to him? What would you say to him? God bless, Joel ><>. 2 Chronicles 7:14; Romans 5:8.

I used to get these all the time. Not as much anymore. Some don't come true for like 10 years, and then all of a sudden, bang there it is. Example - I must of been 18 - 19 years old. I had a dream. I could'nt where I was, but the decor was nicely done up. However there was something wrong I was'nt supposed to be there. I did'nt know why I was'nt supposed to be there. Just that I was'nt supposed to be. I told a guy I knew he was baptist as far as I knew, but he was'nt sure what to make of it either. Well, Fast forward to 2006 this turned out to be an company job interview (One where the name of the company or product is'nt mentionioned in the newspaper until they call you.…
