I was reading a post... I only took part of this but tried to make sure I did not change it's meaning by cutting to much out. So here is my question...what is worth seperating for you and what do you think people seperate over that really is not that important? Here is my thoughts...as a "liberal Baptist" who drinks a little, does not believe women need to wear pants, and uses the Geneva and Tyndale Bible as well as some modern version...we seperate over way to much. The Local Church I Timothy 3:15, “But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.” The “house of God” that Paul is referring to the local assembly of the believers. My husband got an article today, something about David Cloud complaining that all preachers associated with the Sword of the Lord are going to be the new "emerging church" and he called out everyone who preached there by name, one of whom, at least, we know personally as a separated, fundamental Baptist pastor who simply does not "choose camps" but holds his own tight line of separation between himself and the world, and has a very sound, strong IFB church. It seems like David Cloud is getting more and more and MORE negative....does he even LIKE any pastors out there anymore? LInda and I have several of David Cloud's books, including the Fundamental Baptist Library that he offers on CD. While we agree with most of what he teaches, we both are at odds with his book "Dressing for the Lord" which we just recently purchased. In the book, Cloud appears to place the fault for man's lust solely on women and the way they dress. I believe it is a two way street. Both are responsible. David did not have to lust after Bathsheba, he could have left the roof and gone back inside his palace. James tells us every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed. That lust was in David's heart all along, he just needed to be enticed. …

A speaker on sermonaudio was claiming that the pharmaceutical industry is dabbling in sorcery. The bible uses the Greek word "pharmakeia" which the word pharmacy is derived from. It is also used in Revelation 18, and speaks of how all nations were deceived by this. Could it be possible that prescription medicine is a tool of the devil to deceive us? Believe it or not, I have come to the conclusion (drum roll, please) that I should have long hair. I previously fought vehemently against this because I considered it legalism and a form of self-righteousness. Now I see that my cutting my hair was a symbolic rebellion against men in my life controlling me. So this is a big deal for me. And my bangs are in my eyes and driving me crazy. But I'm letting my hair grow as a symbol and crown of my femininity.

I'm pretty sure this has been covered before. But where in scripture does the Holy Spirit baptise anyone at salvation? I know regeneration is sort of figuratively the Holy Spirit baptizing.. but I don't actually see it in scripture. The key verse many like to use is 1 Co 12:13 But 1... later the body being defined is the one at Corinth. 2... 'spirit' here has been capitalized but can be small s. The Invisible Church? I hear much today about the Universal invisible church, and how every believer everywhere is a part of the body of Christ. First let me say that the word “Catholic” means “Universal”! A quick question. A biblical fiat is a direct command from God. Are there degrees of biblical fiat's? For instance when God called the heaven and earth into existance there was no option to disobey but when God calls us to come out from among them and touch not the unclean thing though it is a command it is one that some can disobey. According to Deuteronomy 14:And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the Lord thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household, it appears that God has allowed the children of Isreal to drink alcohol. He even uses the word lusteth in the verse. Is this also for the church? I'm confused. Please help.
