With each new year, I find myself more earnestly desiring to live each day wholly for Christ and to fulfill His calling on my life. As I pray for our church family and friends around the globe, my prayer for each of you is that God would give you the clarity, grace, and courage to pursue Him in this new year and that it would be a fruitful year to His glory! One of the things I love about the dawning of a new year is the natural momentum it carries and the opportunity for setting goals and revitalizing the important areas of our lives. As we look forward to 2024, I wanted to share three resources with you that I pray will be a help to you in this new year: Daily in…

I used these words much in the past. We are living in a troubled times. But, when I did a biblical search, I could not find that it is mentioned. Troubled times, do strange times, sound better or correct?

I recently was browsing a collection of what I believe are assigned readings for certain Baptist colleges and I was able to find a book called, “A Company Of Woman Preachers, Baptist Prophetesses In Seventeenth-Century England.” Why do some members of the Christian faith despite concrete scriptural evidence that the pastoral office is limited to males continue to perpetuate these theories?

Who invented that there were three kings who brought gifts to the baby Jesus. I did a Bible quick search and put three kings and these were the only verses that popped up. 😇 later mentioned three magicians with names, one being black, who first brought this story. Why isn’t it properly teach what the Bible says, in our churches today? 👑 2Kgs.3 [10] And the king of Israel said, Alas! that the LORD hath called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab! [13] And Elisha said unto the king of Israel, What have I to do with thee? get thee to the prophets of thy father, and to the prophets of thy mother. And the king of Israel said unto …

Pastors are surrounded by stress-inducing circumstances. Whether it be the uncivil culture in which we minister, family burdens, financial pressure, dealing with problems in the church, or any number of other factors, stress is a daily reality for pastors. But if stress is a daily realty for pastors, the availability of God’s grace is too. Jesus told us, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). In this new episode of the Spiritual Leadership Podcast, I share eight practical ways to appropriate God’s grace in dealing with pastoral stress. W…

1Cor.1 [18] For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. [20] Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God madefoolish the wisdom of this world? [21] For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by thefoolishness of preaching to save them that believe. [23] But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; [25] Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. [27] But God hath chosen the…

Several days ago, our church hosted our annual World Impact Missions Conference. One of our guest speakers for the conference was Dr. Kevin Folger, who is the North American Director for Spiritual Leadership Asia. The Spiritual Leadership Asia initiative has grown as God has continued to open amazing doors of opportunity for ministry in some of the most spiritually-needy places of the world. In this short bonus episode of the Spiritual Leadership Podcast, Dr. Folger and I discuss the three aspect of Spiritual Leadership Asia and share how you can pray for billions of souls in the 10/40 window who need the gospel. For more information on the 2025 conference, Bible distri…

The name Shubal Stearns is familiar to students of Baptist history. And it is familiar to the church family at Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church, where I preached yesterday. Shubal Stearns was saved under the preaching of George Whitfield during the American Great Awakening. After his salvation, Stearns, through study of Scripture, became a Baptist. A few years later, in 1755, he planted the Sandy Creek Baptist Church in North Carolina. As Stearns preached the gospel, God blessed, and what became known as the Sandy Creek Revival swept the region. Within three years, the church had baptized over nine hundred new converts. Stearns began itinerant preaching trips which result…

Hi all, blessings. I've been in a number of different christian forums posting with others, and two main off beam teachings keep re-occuring and gaining popularity. The first is baptismal regeneration. Seems a whole lot of people get confused between the Holy Spirit empowering a group or individual, baptism by immersion and eternal salvation. And most forums, the individuals who adhere to baptismal regeneration don't get kicked out, but can just continue in there as long as they like. The other- is lowering Christ's deity, so He is lesser than the Father. Some Messianic Jews do this-- who haven't fully let go of Judaism. Obviously.. Orthodox Jews do.. Un…

One of the highlights to me of World Impact Missions Conference at Lancaster Baptist Church is seeing missionaries who grew up at Lancaster Baptist and/or graduated from West Coast Baptist College and and are now serving the Lord on mission fields around the world. (The picture above is of WCBC alumni who were here for Missions Conference ’23 earlier this week and are now planting churches around the world.) The Lord has allowed us to see many young people from our own church family—kids who grew up right here in our Sunday school classes and, in many cases, whose parents trusted Christ through the outreach ministry of our church—who are now preaching the gospel in fore…

He removes his children of the faith, the chosen one's In the Old Testament. Will He do the same in the New Testament, removing His children, those that are Saved. Before the tribulation begins. The seven years of the Antichrist. I believe He will, why would He God, cast judgement on His children, those that are Saved? By leaving them in this world during the 7 years.

When I was selling sheep to Muslims, I would always ask what country they were from. They would usually come in groups of 3, occasionally just two. One thing that was interesting is you would have like one guy from Saudi Arabia, another from Kuwait, and another from Bahrain, or the West Bank, All would be speaking Arabic and acted like they were just best buds. One of the guys, from The West Bank, a Palestinian, had been educated in Morocco ( I checked out his Facebook page). So why, if all these Muslim folks can get along so well, do the other Arab countries like Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Iran, Quatar, etc etc., not take in the Palestinians? Is it solely to keep them the…

I keep seeing people online comparing the colors of the Palestinian flag, and other Islamic flags, to the colors of the four horses of the apocalypse. But the King James calls the last one a "pale" horse instead of "green". Am I missing something? I'm not saying their flags' representations aren't intrinsically evil(I believe they are) But I'm thinking this is a bit of a stretch. No?

From the early moments of church history, we see glimpses of the kind of leaders the Lord desires to be present within His church. Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. (Acts 6:3) That phrase “look ye out among you” is significant because it shows that these qualities are not to be present in pastors only but also among godly Christians within a local church family. As a pastor, I have emphasized the developing of biblical leaders that passionately model the life of Christ in the local church. Although I know it is important that I provide servant, pastoral lea…

Matthew 24 15When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 16Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: 17Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: 18Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. 19And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! 20But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: 21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 2…

Our news feeds this week are dominated by dark events—particularly of the nation of Israel where Islamic terrorists coordinated a brutal attack and are continuing to commit atrocities. From a biblical standpoint, we know that since God’s original promise to Abraham, He has graciously set apart Israel as His own people. Through Israel, God brought Christ into the world and thus used His people to bless all people (Genesis 12:3). Yet, through the centuries, Israel spurned God’s favor toward her, including in rejecting Christ as their Messiah. Even so, God has always had a desire to redeem Israel. And prophetically, we know there will be a day when Israel believes in her M…

In a video ( I watched very little of it) Ray comfort says "nowhere in scripture do you find the apostles saying 'Jesus loves you' to sinners". Actually, Ray, one of the apostles wrote this down: Mark 10:21 "Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me." So, if God, by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, inspired Brother Mark to write this for us to read, it stands to reason that God wanted us to know that God loved this particular sinner, and, knowing that the scripture also says that "God …

Proverbs 15:1 says A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. But I have read where Jesus called the Pharisees/scribes things like "fools", "whited sepulchres", "hypocrites" and a "generation of vipers". Now I seriously doubt that Jesus let it get into an arguing match but, I think this pastor was initially right in telling this policeman what he was. And the cop confirmed it. I just wish the pastor hadn't argued and that he stood his ground instead of running. What say ye? https://www.facebook.com/reel/1401798970766981
