I have been doing a lot of studying and I have found that the KJB was not the first Bible to be translated to English. Wycliffe (1382) Tyndale (1526) Coverdale (1535) Matthew (1537) Great Bible (1539) Geneva (1560) Bishops (1568) Douai-Rhemis (1582-1610) King James (1611) So why are Independent Fundamentalists King James only? I do not want to sound rude or discredit anyone... I am simply curious.

Answering the Typical Anti-King James Bible Site During the past several years since I have been involved in the Bible version discussion I have come into contact with many Bible believers and with many whom I refer to as “Bible Agnostics”. The Bible believers are those who believe God has been faithful and true to His promises to preserve His words in “the book of the LORD” (Isaiah 34:16) and that He did not lie nor exaggerate when the Lord Jesus Christ said “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” (Matthew 24:35) We believe all the evidence points to the Authorized King James Holy Bible as being this Book. The Bible agnostic, on the o…

This JW has written this to me, even though I know its blasphemous, any suggestions how I can answer and it be short and to the point?I know this is asking a lot, but any help, I would be very thankful.. :) forgot the main part didnt I?Here it is...sorry it is so long.. Here is an article published by JW's that explains some of what we believe of the relationship between God and his Son. The article actually comes in a few different subtitles but this section of it covers quite a bit... I have to warn that it goes into a lot of detail and is rather long (notice also that they use some of the original languages to explain and also cross reference different Bible …

I was reading some older threads tonight, and I found one where at least two people knocked Strong's Concordance, without listing any reasons. I was wondering what problems people had with it? The only two problems I have found with it are: Defining Lucifer as Venus, the morning star. Though considering that his definition was approximately 2400 years later, it is very possible now that the word Hellel IS associated with Venus - but that doesn't mean it was in Isaiah's time, nor that the passage anywhere contains that meaning. In fact, it is the more liberal translations that are trying to blur the line between the Morning Star and Lucifer, containing cross-references…

Anybody ever read the "Websters Bible?" It's a revision of the King James Bible done by that Webster dude who did our dictionary way back in the 1800's. I think it was a revision to change some more archaic words by and large. I just downloaded it off of E-Sword to check it out.

Hello all, I have yet another question (I am fascinated discussing things like with with people) I know people who are IFB KJB only. I respect that. Some are part of a group on Fabcebook "I am a Independent Fundamentalist 1611 King James Only Baptist" -something like that. When I mention the Apocrypha they get very defensive, saying its pagan and evil. But as I studied more on the subject I found that the 1611 King James had the Apocrapha. and it was not until 274 years after it was printed that it was removed. So by saying you believe the 1611 Edition of the King James is the one true Bible... why do you reject the Apocrapha? I would love to hear your thoughts …

I’ve been doing some studying into the archaic features of the KJV. i found that the difference between -eth and -est is that one is second person and another is third person. So it would seem that this would add detail to the Bible and therefore accuracy. However, practically speaking it seems to me that this doesn’t really add information because of English Syntax, it would seem that the subject of the sentence will always supple that information and therefore these endings are unnecessary. Does anyone know of any places in the English bible where having these Archaic endings give the reader more clarity?

Are all bible versions 99.5% the same? One of the common and most obvious falsehoods we often hear by those who rail against the idea that the King James Bible is the complete, inspired and 100% true words of God is the claim that all thousands of textual variations out there are very minor and not of any real importance, and that the various bible versions are basically 99.5% the same. These ridiculous claims by those who do not believe that ANY Bible in ANY language are the complete, preserved and infallible words of God are so easily proven to be absurdly false that one has to assume that such people are either speaking out of complete ignorance of the facts or th…

Rejoice or Be Proud? In the true Holy Bible boasting in oneself is never commended as a good thing. Scripture allows for boasting in the accomplishments of others, but not in ourselves. For example, see 2 Corinthians 7:14; 8:24, and 9:3-4. Here the apostle Paul boasted to others of the Corinthians because they were ready to provide for the needs of the poor saints in Jerusalem. Boasting in oneself is done only in a sense of irony, and is called "folly" and speaking foolishly - See 2 Corinthians 11:1, 10, 16-18 "That which I speak, I speak it not after the Lord, but as it were foolishly, in this confidence of boasting. Seeing that many glory after the flesh, I will…

The Gift of Tongues Are Tongues for Today? There is much controversy over this question in the church today. Let’s take a close look at the gift of speaking in tongues. Part l “Sign” Gifts: Certain gifts were given to the early church as signs to the people that something supernatural has happened. They were “attention getters” so that the multitudes would take notice. These “sign gifts” were needed during the inception and building of the church, and were given by Him for that purpose. Most of them are OBviously signs to the people, Jew and Gentile alike, that God was at work in their midst. One of the sign gifts was the gift of miracles (1 Cor. 12:28), an…

Why Not? Exo 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Si? Are you FLIPPANT with what God holds ABOVE HIS NAME?

2 John, Chapter 1 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

Why was Bezaleel filled with the spirit of God? Exodus 31:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Exodus 31:2 See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: Exodus 31:3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, Exodus 31:4 To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, Exodus 31:5 And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship. Why are we filled with the Spirit today? Acts 1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with t…
