This thread has been started in response to members of this forum. I am personally humbled, but spiritually thrilled to have been requested to host such a thread discussion. Indeed, I have been burdened for some time to engage in a discussion here at Online Baptist concerning the matter of spiritual revival. Due to the direct request, I believe that now is the appropriate time to do so. Yet I certainly struggle with how to begin such a spiritually important matter for our lives in our time. Since the request was presented, I have sought our Lord in prayer for His guidance in so doing. In Acts 16:30 the Philippian jailer asked Paul and Silas, "Sirs, what must …

Hello everyone, I have been a member here for a little while and read through the forums quite often but rarely post or respond to posts but thought I would share this information with members who might be interested in obtaining an affordable hard copy of the PCE Bible and where to find one, recently I ordered what was listed as a Collins PCE Bible from Bible Truth Publishers, I received that bible today and what I received was a TBS printed and bound copy of the Williams Collins Sons and Company Limited Cambridge Bible text, dated 1957. It's actually the TBS Comfort Text Bible listed on their website, you can order direct from TBS or Bible Truth Publishing and receive t…

Why was Bezaleel filled with the spirit of God? Exodus 31:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Exodus 31:2 See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: Exodus 31:3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, Exodus 31:4 To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, Exodus 31:5 And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship. Why are we filled with the Spirit today? Acts 1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with t…

We who receive Christ are all called to be witnesses. What about Christ’s disciples which are called Apostles, why were they called? Do you have a scripture quotation for your answer?

Proverbs 21:6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death. Can the treasure above be typed as misuse of God's word, false churches, religious appearance, etc? “vanity” James 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. “tossed to and fro” Ephesians 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; “seek death” Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, bu…

Did Jacob foresee the coming of Jesus Christ? Genesis 49:1 And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days. Genesis 49:10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. Strongs Shiloh (שִׁילֹה) 1) he whose it is, that which belongs to him, tranquillity a) meaning uncertain

Nehemiah 4:14-22 14 And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses. 15 And it came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known unto us, and God had brought their counsel to nought, that we returned all of us to the wall, every one unto his work. 16 And it came to pass from that time forth, that the half of my servants wrought in the work, and the other half of them held both the spears, the shields, and the bows, and the habergeons; and the rul…

Spiritualizing Scripture 1 2

I heard a preacher on the radio speaking about Ishmael and Isaac, flesh and faith, man’s work vs. God’s grace. I discussed this with another Christian and he said the radio preacher was spiritualizing those scriptures. I thought it was a good “typing” for contrast in the battle of the flesh vs. faith. It is very possible I failed to give enough information for the other Christian to give a complete statement. I should have asked what he meant by “spiritualizing.” I didn’t ask so; here am I with four questions. Have you ever heard the word “spiritualizing” applied to scripture? If you recall the context or have an example can you summarize here? What is mea…

Neglecting The Striving

Proverbs 2 4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; 5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. Ephesians 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: Saving Grace (neglecting the striving) Hebrews 2:3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; Genesis 6:3a And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: Do you think there i…

Acts 13:48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed. Acts 13:48 Perverted (NKJV) 48 Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed. This use of the word "ordained", here in the New King James, is just one example of how a degraded definition of a word can add to to or take away from the Word of God. The word "ordained", in it's most familar use today, does mean appointed. but I believe the root meaning has been lost or obscured. Here is an example of it's use near the en…

Pr 25:6 Put not forth thyself in the presence of the king, and stand not in the place of great men: Pr 25:7 For better it is that it be said unto thee, Come up hither; than that thou shouldest be put lower in the presence of the prince whom thine eyes have seen. Jesus Christ is my King and my Prince; for me to worship him in spirit and in truth requires I pause and do a self assessment. Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Revelation 4:8 "...and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come." Jesus …
