I've run into a little problem with online reference sites descriptions and maps of Paul's 2nd missionary journey. All the ones I look at say Tarsus was the first visit after leaving Antioch with Silas. It would make sense, since Tarsus is in line with Derbe and Lystra. I can't find any reference in the Bible for a stop or even passing through Tarsus. The scripture I'm looking at is Acts 15:40-Acts 16:1. Do any of you have an answer for where I can review the reference for a stop or visit at Tarsus on Paul's 2nd missionary journey?

From the day God said this all families continued until a member was blessed by Isaac's descendants or Ishmael's descendants. My wife and I have been invited to lunch on Sunday by a couple who have just come out of an ecumenical church. They are keen gospel preachers and were surprised at the gospel preaching in our church as they were told that we were a cult because we do not join forces with the ecumenical churches. If the subject comes up I would like to be ready with scripture verses. I know there are many but my memory is not too good these days, and I can't recall many. Any help would be appreciated. Hello. I'm not sure if this is a good place for this post to go, but I don't have access to the KJV thread... Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good Study Bible? The few that I have looked into have some questionable helps in them. I know that of course they are just "man's opinion" but are there any that are better than others????

The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD. ~ Proverbs 16:1 I just read this verse this morning, and praise God for it because it comforts me greatly at the moment. I looked up the Matthew Henry Commentary on Biblehub.com and found out that every other bible rendering on the page besides the American King James Bible says that it is up to man to prepare his heart, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. So blessed to own a copy of the King James!

Okay.. so this forum is mainly about independent fundamental baptists teaching... Now.. Why then are so many in here talking about church with a big 'C'? Surely.. if you are independent baptist.. church is going to be a local body and a local body only? I thought that is what seperated independent baptists from every other group that calls themselves baptist.. But it appears I was wrong. So I need help selecting the perfect bible. I've been looking but haven't found my one yet. I want it to be sturdy, large, normal sized print. Not the really tiny print. Words of god in red. When I read "this generation" I saw it as only being Jews, in parts of the gospels. It occurred to me that I have been excluding all of my gentile peoples before Jesus was put to death. I include them at the end of Jesus life, the trial and death but before then I don't. I included them at the end of time but for some reason left out the Romans, and the neighboring communities where Jesus done mighty works, why? I don't know, blindness I guess. - In the last nearly 7 months, there have been 2, major attacks, against the "jew", but we will call it Israel. OCT 7 was the first, and this is well documented, and now, a few days ago, you have Iran (Islam) attacking Israel in the middle of the night, as the devil loves the darkness....... Many many Ballistic , Cruise Missiles, and at least 200 Attack Drones were sent in by Islam (Iran) to try to kill Jewish citizens. Only "throw it out" if you are trying to offer it to God to be accepted by God. For example.. "God, i'll promise to stop sinning............will you save me now'"" ????? See that? "God says" = NO I WONT, as that is not my GRACE. and you are "saved by Grace", or you are not saved at all.
