When Jesus died, where did he go? I went to a church's Wednesday night Bible study recently and this was talked about. I found it very interesting. I want to hear what others think and have been taught before I share what I was taught. I know that I have been taught He went to Hell for 3 days and then went to Heaven.

Where No Oxen Are 1 2 3

Prov. 14:4 "Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox." Oxen are strong and have been used as beasts of burden for thousands of years. A good team of oxen can be used for pulling a felled tree, plowing a field in preparation for sowing, haul water to the field for watering, and pull a cart load of harvested crops. If the beast won't work and work as a team, this could be another reason why the crib is clean; their master took them out and slaughtered them because it was unprofitable to continue feeding them. We had a visiting missionary at our worship services this past prayer meeting. He told us, just because we see little …

http://www.geocities.com/brandplucked/before1611.html Where was the word of God before 1611 and where is it today? Those who promote the modern bible versions do not believe any Bible is the inspired, infallible, preserved, and pure words of the living God. They piously tell us "the original Hebrew and Greek" is their final authority, hoping no one will notice that there is no such animal on the face of this earth. They don't have it, have never seen it, and wouldn't recognize it if it fell on their heads. There are no original Hebrew and Greek manuscripts anywhere. There are several different Hebrew texts plus the conflicting Dead Sea Scrolls. There are over 2…

Hi to all! I have a King James Bible (I find it hard to understand most of the time - Old English). And I also have an ESV Study Bible by Crossway. The latest version. I also have a KJV bible dictionary. I also have a bible in my own language (Filipino). I like the ESV best. Any more good bibles you can recommend? (Oh also, before I didn't want to buy any bible because I heard that the KJV is the most reliable bible and the other bibles are not reliable and their contents has been changed.) :smug:

I've been saved a short time and using a Thomas Nelson KJV Study Bible. In II Samuel 15:7 when referring to the length of time Absalom was turning Israel against King David it says he went on for 40 years. The notes say it should read 4 years. I know that notes in a study Bible are not perfect but I thought David's reign was only 40 years long total. Which is right? I admit I used the Subject line to get people to read my post. My belief is that the only Bible a person should be using is the KJV but this verse has me puzzled. Thanks for any help.

Genesis 6: 1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 2That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they werefair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. 3And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. 4There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. 5And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was…

I am looking for the name of an independent Baptist preacher who preached a sermon a long while back. I don't know where it was preached, or even if it was preached often by a missionary or evangelist. My preacher is looking for this man's name, and I said I'd try to find it for him. The sermon was about a missionary who came in contact with the medicine man of a tribe who challenged him on whose god was greater. He challenged him to walk on a bed of hot coals to see whose god would protect each from harm. He tells how he felt compelled to do so. The medicine man walked across and succeeded with blisters. The preacher walked across and when he was finished had no blisters…

I know there are lots of ideas on this....I personally thought that Moses wrote it (figuring since God gave him the revelation of the Creation, He probably also revealed to him the conversation between Satan and God in Heaven in Job). But today I was reading in chapter 12 and Elihu actually speaks in first person (like a narrator) in verses 16, 17. Is it possible he could have written it? God never does rebuke him like He does the other three at the end of the book. Any ideas?

Who's In Control of the World? By: Will Kinney http://www.avdefense.com/whosincontrol.html Who is in control of the world? Is it God or Satan? Jesus Christ said: "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth." Mattthew 28:18. The Lord's prayer in Matthew 6:13 ends with :"For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory for ever, Amen." This phrase is in brackets in the NASB and removed in the NIV, RSV and ESV. Jesus either said it or he didn't; they can't all be right. In Ephesians 1:20-22 it is said of Christ that God "raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality, and power, and might, …

God used this evil king, King James, to make a great Bible, along with great men. scholars of the days, and those men that fear God, they also feared the king. Don’t mess up, or off with your head.

Why did Jesus always call his mother "Woman"? 1 2 3 4

Jesus was without any sin, so it couldn't be to dishonor her since that would mean sinning by breaking the same commandments that he told us that we have to follow. I don't think that the Bible mentions anyone else always calling their mother "Woman".

They are saying things such as, some of the things left out of new versions, should of been, and King James wasn't going thru Hebrew translations and Greek so it is mis interpreted. What do you say, short and sweet to someone like that? :?

the bible revisers, why don't they know that though they make it simple enough for a 2nd grade reading level, they then hand that simplified version to the BLIND! And those Blind ones won't understand it no matter how simple it is. Spiritually DEAD, unregenerate, unredeemed folks can't understand God's word, period! The ONLY unsaved who may understand are those prepared by God to respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, that upon hearing they may receive saving faith. So aren't the revisers, who want to simplify God's Word for the masses, thinking thousands more may be saved by a simpler version, proving that they are among the BLIND, the unregenerated, the un…
