Hi everyone. I am looking for a good KJV Bible for my best friend, Darrell. He is a seeker at this point in his life and I am wanting to find a KJV Bible geared towards seekers. I would prefer one that has notes in it and such that show how Christianity is true and explain key doctrines and such. If no such Bible is available, I would take the next best offering. What do you recommend? :puzzled:

I am interested in getting a KJV Study Bible and wanted to know if anyone had any recommendations? The only KJV Study Bible I've looked at before is a Scofield one that talks about dispensations (I'm not sure what those are or if they are correct). I want to make sure I get one that is biblically sound. Thanks!

The Roman Church continues it's attempt to perpetrate the same errors over and over again. Each time one pops up I let God's word correct them. I saw an RC error referenced in another thread and need to quell it before any may be subverted from it. The error is quoted below: Here is the study I completed many years ago: A look at Matthew 16 vs dogma The best commentary on scripture is scripture. Matthew 16:13-23 13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. …

I thought this was worth sharing. I am on Bob's mailing list. He has some pretty good articles on the King James Bible, and others like this one: A friend wrote to tell me, Jesus warned his teachings would be lost and/or corrupt over the time to pass. In answer to them I said, How do you know that is not a cunningly devised fable, an old wives tale? How do you know that is not a saying that is corrupt? Where is the Scripture that says the wholly true words shall not be preserved? It is written, that the words are preserved. Psalms 12:6 (KJB) The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7 …

A Response to Rick Norris' book, The Unbound Scriptures, A Review of KJV-only Claims and Publications. The "logical" Premise of Mr. Norris James D. Price Ph.D, one of the NKJV translators, writes the Foreward to Rick Norris' book called The Unbound Scriptures. In this preface Mr. Price sums up the conclusions of Mr. Norris saying: "Norris demonstrates that the doctrine of inerrancy can be successfully applied ONLY to THE ORIGINAL AUTOGRAPHS, but not to any translation, including the KJV." (Caps are mine throughout) He also says: "Norris shows that the doctrine of preservation can be applied properly ONLY to the text of THE ORIGINAL AUTOGRAPHS, and that the…

As we have seen in some other threads, Les teaches two gospels, (grace vs kingdom or gentile vs jew) we know there is only one. Also we have learned he teaches two creations. Now we find out the King James Version is wrong and Adam gave up a gonad to create Woman. Keep in the back of your mind Les teaches this on TV and if you disagree with his ideas on the verses you are not "rightly dividing" the scriptures. (right in my own eyes dividing) We believe the Bible, it says rib so we believe rib. Nothing fancy, nothing added to scriptures. Its sad to see Les who knows the scriptures so well not being satisfied and adding leaven. This could be anyone of us so bewar…

Part 1... Isaiah 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line *** who love Truth more than a lie *** Do you love the truth, BELIEVER? WHO is the exception to this command? 1Peter 2:17 Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king. Penned by Peter, commanded by God, CHRISTIANS were to honour CAESAR. Bloodthirsty, self aggrandizing CAESAR! WHO, is the exception? NAME him, and give a BIBLICAL answer please. There are no exceptions to God's COMMANDS, BUT Americans MAKE King George III the exception. So, King George III irritated, and aggravated the colonists...? YES? Where did that com…

In Sunday School we're studying Moses and the children of Israel. We are at the part where Aaron has made the golden calf and God has told Moses to go back down to the camp because the people had sinned (Exodus 32). My SS literature says that Aaron knew the first two commandments. One of my students asked how he knew if Moses had not come down with the tables of stone yet. I'm ashamed to say that I could not clearly answer this child's question....while Aaron should have known by all that his conscience told him, and I'm sure he knew it was wrong to make an idol.... I looked, but I didn't see where the commandments had been given yet, although chapters 20-31 of Exodu…

1 Thessalonians 4:1 Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more. Walk Galatians 6 13 For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh. 14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. 15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. 16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, an…

Did Abram marry Hagar? Genesis 16:3 And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife. Genesis 21:10 Wherefore she (Sarah) said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac. 1 Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. Genesis 21:12 And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sara…

2 Sam 14:25 But in all Israel there was none to be so much praised as Absalom for his beauty: from the sole of his foot even to the crown of his head there was no blemish in him. Absalom was a very handsome young man but he was also evil. Today celebreties and sports heros are often admired for their good looks but many lead desolute lives and some are downright evil. in films and books, the goody is usually good looking and the baddy is ugly, particularly westerns. In chilrens books it is the same, the hero or heroine is beautiful and the bad ones are not, as in the ugly sisters and the wicked witch. In life it is similar, disabled people are often …

Acts 10:19 ?three men?, ?two men? or just ? some men?? Further textual confusion both by Westcott-Hort and the two so called ?oldest and best? manuscripts is further seen in Acts 10:19. In the King James Bible we read: ?While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, THREE men seek thee.? The three men refers back to verses 10:7-8 where we read that Cornelius ?called TWO of his household servants, AND a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually...he sent THEM to Joppa.? Thus there were three men altogether who went to find Peter. The reading of "THREE men" is again confirmed in chapter eleven verse eleven where Peter is rehearsing the …

Acts 12:25 - The Devil is in the Details In Acts 12:25 we read: ?And Barnabas and Saul returned FROM (ex) Jerusalem, when they had fulfilled their ministry, and took with them John, whose surname was Mark.? This is the reading found in a multitude of Greek manuscripts and Bible versions including P74, Alexandrinus, the Textus Receptus, the Modern Greek N.T., the Vulgate 425, Wycliffe 1395, the Geneva Bible 1599, the Italian Diodati 1649, Riveduta 1927, French Martin 1744, Louis Segond 1910, Ostervald 1996, the Spanish Reina Valera 1602 - 1995, the Revised Version 1881, ASV 1901, Weymouth, Lamsa?s translation of the Syriac 1933, Douay 1950, Darby, Young?s, the NKJV 198…

Acts 17:22 "Too Superstitious or Very Religious"? Acts 17:22 "Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things YE ARE TOO SUPERSTITIOUS...whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you." Many Bible commentators and modern critics have set forth a concentrated attack on the accuracy of our beloved Authorized King James Bible. They tell us that the King James Bible has got it all wrong here and the word translated as "too superstitious" should really be rendered as "very religious". They also tell us that Paul would not want to offend these people and start off his sermon with a slap in the face…

Acts 19:2 and Ephesians 1:13 - Answering the Bible Critics Acts 19:2 "He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost SINCE ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost." Ephesians 1:13 "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also AFTER THAT ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise." The purpose of this study is to refute the allegations made by people like James White and others who tell us the King James Bible is not the inerrant, complete and 100% true words of God. Mr. James White is a prime example of those who CLAIM to…

http://www.geocities.com/brandplucked/Acts5-30.html Acts 19:20 "So mightily grew the word of GOD and prevailed. Is it true that the word "God" should have been translated as "the Lord"?. How do you answer those who challenge the King James Bible in this way, saying that there is a translational error here in Acts 19:20? In his book, The King James Only Controversy, James White says on page 67 that the King James translators used the Latin Vulgate to come up with the reading "the word of GOD", rather than the Greek texts. Is this true? People who say it is a translational error show little understanding of languages. I am not an expert, but I know enough to …

Acts 19:35 Diana or Artemis - Jupiter, Zeus, or Heaven? "And when the townclerk had appeased the people, he said, Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess DIANA, and of the image which fell down from JUPITER?" There are a growing number of Christians today who no longer believe in the inerrancy of Scripture. Some reluctantly and others boldly come right out and tell us that "No Bible and No single text in any language, (be it Hebrew, Greek, English, Swahili, or whatever) IS NOW the complete, inerrant, and 100% true and accurate words of God." I believe this is one of the predicte…

Hello Everybody, Im starting this thread because Ive met a nice fellow who sincerly believes that Acts 2:38 is the key to interpreting the New Testament. If he finds something that teaches another way to be saved (Romans 10 for example)...... Acts 2:38 overides it! Ive invited him to state his case here....
