When I login to Online Baptist, I always check the box to "keep me logged on/remember me" in order to stay logged in. Unless I we have a major power outage, or I shut down my pc for more than a day, I am usually logged in. Lately, I have been getting logged off for some unknown reason. Is there something in my account settings that needs to be changed? Thanks

The major part of the upgrade is complete, I still have a few cosmetic changes to make here and there. If you notice any bugs please let me know and I will fix them when I get a chance. I see already that we have a little problem with the smilies, so I will fix that in the next couple of days. One thing that I am sure you will notice is your post counts, they are lower. That is because I could only convert over the posts that are on OB, the old posts that were pruned out did not get added to your post count. If this is a problem with you please let me know and I will increase your post count in the database. Enjoy and have fun. Things I have left to do: Make a new…

Why does moderators lock topic just because they think a topic has been discussed enough? Do we have a rule that limits how much we can discuss certain topics? If so I would appreciate it being pointed out to me. I can understand locking a topic if some are going after each others throat, but why does it matter how much a certain topic is discussed. To me, if a person thinks a certain topic has been discussed enough, why even click on it again, go to some other topic and let those who might want to discuss it, discuss it. We all, including moderators ought to realize, just because they think enough has been said on a certain topic, some other member may still have…

Don't know about anyone else, bt not feeling it for the new format. Maybe I'm not picking it up, but I miss the easy listing of the most recent posts, and the threads I have posted to, which seems to be missing. It seems like there's more work and searchng to find what I want to post in and read. BUt maybe its just me. Anyone else have thoughts on the format?

I was browsing the "New Content" page, and ran across a thread with this title...Looked through the posts on that thread, and wanted to add some comments, but then realized that the thread was in a forum from which I am blocked. I hope it's okay to go ahead and comment here. I think the thread brings up an interesting question. I liked John's first post on the subject. "IFB" means "Independent" (not affiliated with any denomination) "Fundamental" (adhering to the fundamentals of the faith, including separation from disobedient brethren) and "Baptist" (following Baptist tradition/doctrine). To me, that's all that "IFB" means. As LuAnne brought up, "IFB-ers" differ from e…

This forum is extremely frustrating. I have the worst time trying to post any images, sermons, or videos. Will someone tell me what image extensions ARE allowed on this community? Bro. Garry

for the HOH and deaf? It is very hard to find a board just for christian deafs. most are very worldly (maybe TOO worldly). And the internet is a good way to interact with hearing people so it is good to share this board with them instead of having their own board.

BroMatt I need your help. I am again having the "Invalid Session" error message when I post. I have to enter the submit button between 3 and 6 times before a post will go through. I am also having a graet deal of frustration with not being able to move around the board with ease. I get "Time Out" errors and "Server Errors." I has become so bad that it is affecting my fellowship on OB. Oh BTW, I only get these errors on OB and I get them with my PC and my Mac. No one else seems to be having these problems. Are you able to help me?

Folks, we have been on phpBB2 for a very long time. I personally like phpBB because it is simple and clean, so I mod it myself with the modifications that fit us. It is not bloated with bells and whistles that nobody uses and therefore easier on the servers CPU load. Soon I will be converting these message boards over to phpBB3. You will not only notice a few new features, but you will also notice a a huge difference in speed. I already converted the OBL and RU forums over and we are next. :D So this is your opportunity. I have been playing with the code for phpBB3 for year no…

While attempting to post a response in a thread from a few months back, I received the following error message: Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator at webmaster@onlinebaptist.com to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. ???????????????????????????????????…

I have no problem with a usergroup being created for people who line up exactly with BroMatt's definition of "IFB" doctrine, but I have a concern about the new forum section. Since there's a Biblical topic discussion area, and a few other areas, are the people in that usergroup going to just talk about whatever Biblical topics they feel like discussing in there, and leave the rest of us out of it? What I mean is... look at the "view new posts" section. There's lots of various topics that are open for anyone on this board to discuss - no matter if we're Calvinist, Ruckmanite, not KJVO, etc. (I only technically fit into one of those, but just for the sake of the argu…

Bro Matt, Why in the world punish everyone by locking a topic because someone with 79 post writes something in their post that is offensive, why not edit the post, take what is offensive out of it, or tell them to if you can't edit it, them warn them not to use such words again. That would be the sensible thing to do. This is the topic I'm referring to. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=21258&p=334643#p334643

For several days not the main forum page, once the page has loaded, jumps to the bottom. It's kinda annoying. Is there a reason for it?

Over the last few months before Jim had his surgery - in my grief now - I had forgotten. In Jim's prayers, that I heard, he often dwelled on his home in heaven and distinguished it from his home in heaven and his home on earth. To most people that may not mean anything, but for me, it told a lot. He had never really done that before a few months ago. Now that he is not waking up, the doctors have their reasons why. His brain is severely damaged by the stroke. If he did wake up it is likely that he wouldn’t be able to see, speak, feed himself, or breathe on his own. He has also developed an infection (Pneumonia) in his lungs. But I think there is an added reason - he …

On another message board, "Dr"JamesAch is falsely claiming that I have "numerous accounts" here. Obviously, what our false witness bearing friend says elsewhere is not your problem. However, if what he is saying is true (and, like all the other accusations he's made toward me, it's not), then that would a violation of OB rules. Would you please investigate this and tell us whether or not I have any other accounts?

Its Just Me 1 2

Matt & Mods, Where to begin...sigh. Since the upgrade (and I'm sure it is 'just me'), I've had to use a new password every time I sign in. I don't use the 'stay signed in' option so, I must enter my PW each time, just a personal preference. I have to use the 'Forgot password option' to get a new password email and as soon as I enter the new password and confirm, I'm signed in. Sorry Matt, but the new PW you sent didn't work when I used (1) 'I am chief' (2) '1Tim115' or (in desperation) tried using (3) 'email'. So, I'm thinking that the PW and UID are out of sink. I changed my UID one time in the past and I think I may have be using the wrong one with the PW when I si…

Odd Problem 1 2

I've been having this recurring problem and it only happens when I have a window open to OB. If I'm doing something on OB and the operation gets stuck, or if the OB page hasn't completely loaded yet and I click the close button that action suddenly causes a myriad of new windows to begin opening. They open so fast there is no way to close them before several more open up. Of course, this eventually locks up my whole computer. This only happens with OB. None of the other websites I use freeze up and none of the other websites I use cause a myriad of new windows to open when I close their window. I have no idea what could be causing this do you?
