I just found this forum and am looking forward to "reading" you all. I trust there isn't all that much in-fighting here as is the case on most such forums, although they are tagged Chirstian forums. I was born and bred in SBC churches, but God led me into a little start-up IFB church ten or so years ago. I didn't know such a breed existed, to be totally honest. Anyway, the happiest of all my spiritual years have been since then. I might add that based on where I was born and raised and the number of years back down the road, almost everyone was a fundamental (smile). Let me make perfectly clear that I didn't think I was "born saved". I put my faith in Jesus when…

I grew up in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and have been a Baptist all my life. I have wide interests and follow many topics. I will not simply accept what is currently popular until I have researched it for myself and I make my own decisions. I am always reading two or more books at a time. I do not believe in the division of clergy and laity. If a person is a Christian, to me, then they are clergy as every Christian has the responsibility to 'go into the world' taking Christ with them in both deed and word. I put deed first as I believe deeds show what we believe and either backup or refute what we say we believe. Bare with me if I ask questions. I have always been …

Hey everyone... My name is Kenny. I'm married and have two stepchildren. I live in a growing town / city in Pennsylvania, where I do inventory control work for a local packaging company. I've been seeking Christ for 3 years, and I'm very thankful to God that I'm not one of the many that has fallen into today's false teaching. After hearing a very convicting sermon, I left a much larger Church for an Independent Baptist Church. It was a good move and I'm very happy with the doctrine being taught. While I have been going through some struggles, I'm confident that God not only gives second chances; but gives us the power to make those chances count. I have great con…

Yes, I know my name is prOBably hard to say but, just call me Krista. Believe it or not, I'm here to stalk someone who is already a member here. I knew him a long time ago and last I heard he was looking up Christian sites and, loe and behold, I found him. Completely off topic but, whatever. Since he's learning I might as well do the same while I'm here stalking him.

I have recently discovered this forum thanks to a Brother over at Baptistboard.com, after being discouraged with the topics and level of discussion over there. I hope to find like-minded believers here with whom I can engage in uplifting and educational discussions based on scripture.

Hello all. This is my first time on a Baptist forum so please go easy on me as I learn the rules. I believe that the AV Bible is the preserved word of God to the english speaking people and that it is the sole authority by which we can know God. I was born again 6 years ago and miraculously saved from a life of athiesm. I believe that God is entirely responsible for the security of the believer's soul and so thereby there is nothing the believer can do to remove himself from grace. However, God gives everyone their own free will to accept or reject him. You are not an elect until you have been born again. It's like getting on a plane, the destination is the s…

My name is Wesley. I attend a small IFB church in Kenly North Carolina. I was saved at the age of 18 fresh out of high school (Thank You Lord) I am now 34 with a wife and 3 beautiful boys. I look forward to communicating with fellow believers. Coming from a small church in an area with 10 churches in a 10 mile radius (out in the country no less) really makes it hard to stand out. Pray for our church as it continues to grow on nothing but the preaching of the TRUTH and making deciples of all who believe. For now keep looking up and listening out. See you all soon at his return. W Stancil.

Hello! My name is Andrea, and I am new to this forum. I have been a baptist all my life, but became and IFB in high school, after my friend invited me to her church. I was saved my Sophomore year of high school at a public school revival my church was hosting. I was baptized shortly after, and began becoming involved in that local church. I moved churches my junior year, to one closer. (the previous one was about 30 minutes, and since I was still living under my parents, who did not attend church, transportation became an issue) I quickly became involved in that church's ministries, and soon went off to Bible college to study Secondary Education (with a math/history…

Hello everyone. My husband is in the Air Force and we are stationed in Germany at the present. We attend a small IFB church here and lead children's church. I am so happy to find this forum, since it can sometimes feel like we are the *only ones* way over here away from family. It's nice to share ideas and interact with other like minded folk!
