By John Young in DevotionalsWhy is it that many Christians today seem to be following and serving God but do not seem to be blessed by God and in the end fail and fall away? Cain is a perfect example of Why.... Outwardly he appeared to be a Model Christian. He Sacrificed to God, God spoke to him and he spoke to God. He asked for forgiveness and obtained mercy from God, and people saw God's mark on him. So why did he fail? In this message we discuss the reason why he and many apparent "Godly" Christians like him fall away from God. We also see how even Cain in his sinful fall received warnings and mercy from God in every step he took to failure. Today we "modern Christians" receive the same warnings. The question is will we heed the callings of God? Will we submit to God in all things or continue down our own path?

TITLE: "Cain: A Model For Modern Christians."
TEXT: Genesis 4:1-15
Introduction: Why is it that many Christians today seem to be following and serving God but do not seem to be blessed by God and in the end fail? Cain is a perfect example of Why....
I. Why He is a Model Christian.
A. Sacrificed to God. v.3
B. God spoke to him and he spoke to God. v.6, v.13
C. Cain asked for forgiveness. v.13
D. People saw God's mark on him. v.15
II. Why He is a Modern Christian.
A. Sacrificed the wrong things.
B. Ignored God's words and followed his own.
C. Asked God to forgive punishment but did not admit to wrong doing.
D. God's mark was a mark of warning to others.
III. What we need to do.
A. Sacrifice the right things.
B. Obey God's word and pray properly.
C. Admit our wrong doings to God (and refer back to point B).
D. Seek to have a good mark.
Conclusion: Even Cain in his sinful fall received warnings and mercy from God in every step he took to failure as a Christian. We today receive the same warnings. The question is will we heed the callings of God? Will we continue down our own path or submit to God?
By E Morales in DevotionalsAnswer YES OR NO to these simple questions
How can I get to heaven by going to church ?
By giving money to the poor
By giving money to your church
By memorizing a certain prayer
By repetition of a single prayer
By trying not to be a bad person
BY not eating a certain meat
By Obeying the ten commandments
By living a drug free life
BY not smoking or drinking alcohol
By having a bible in your home
By getting baptized
By becoming a member of a church
By talking in strange tongues
By telling other people you are a christian
By praying to the sun or to nature
By praying to some prophet that lived then died
By loving your friends and family?
Thank you for taking time to read these questions. On Earth, there is no perfect church right now, and heaven can not be purchase in anyway or with anything.
There’s only one way that we can to get to heaven. My friends, first we must believe in Gods Words.
That tells us, that you and I are sinners, and that we all fall short to the glory of God. One day we will all die because of it, SIN. We all must realize we are sinners, repent of our evils ways and accept Jesus Christ, as our personal savior.
Why not do this today ?
I did, in the year 1987. Then you will receive the holy spirit. He will teach you and guide you the rest of your life,
On what we should do, and what we should not do.
Note: We now live to follow Christ, with the help of the Holy Spirit that is now living in us, we do not follow Man rules or traditions that try to make you earn your way to heaven, We seek Gods Word only, that are found to His Holy Bible. KJV preferred but not only.
Read the bible in the book of Romans, Chapters 3-23 6-23 5-8 10-9 and 10-10. These verses will help and guide you closer to Christ.
Please read also John Chapter 3-16 and 3-17 in your king James Bible. I pray that God bless you and your family.
If you accepted Christ as your personal Savior today, " Praise God.” Now you need to go and find a bible preaching church that preaches Gods Word.
The Bible tells us that faith comes by hearing and by hearing Gods Word. The Holy Spirit will guide you to the right one.
Be not afraid, for the LORD will always be with you.

By John Young in DevotionalsIn this two part general overview on "Dispensational Stewardship" we discuss Bible theology and how we should view and study the scriptures as contrasted by Dispensational and Covenant theologies. We believe the biblical view is realized when we look at the scriptures as a servant learning and serving in their God given role in life or as called here their "Dispensational Stewardship". Unlike the former two theologies which impose a man made structure and divisions onto the scriptures in attempts to understand the Bible, "Dispensational Stewardship" seeks to use the bible's own structure and unity to frame our biblical world view and understand our place within it.
“Dispensational Stewardship” takes the position that we are servants of God tasked with divine mandates. We believe these Divine mandates as framed in God’s commissions and stewardships to us and are to determine the scope and nature of our actions as we humbly serve God and relate to others and the natural and spiritual worlds around us. These mandates are innately and naturally discerned and divinely revealed. Innately as determined from within ourselves in the way God has programmed us to function, naturally as we learn to relate to the world about us in which God has placed us, and Divinely revealed by God. Either directly by Divine personal revelation and guidance or indirectly by the witness of written Scripture. As we discern what God has dispensed to us and as we study scripture, we learn our role and place in God’s Divine plan and household and how to be faithful stewards.
We believe this Stewardship should determine how we naturally and with Divine guidance study the scriptures to practically learn how to be, to the best of our ability, profitable servants of God’s creation. To this end, we take note of the following words as used in scripture, as to the organization in which God frames the Scripture so that we can learn how to use them properly as we serve Him. Dispensations, Stewardships, Testaments, Covenants, Promises, Will of God, Law, Discernment, Wisdom. In this two part lesson we give an overview of how each word relates to our study of scripture, to help the believer as they study these words in light of this view of their "Dispensational Stewardship", also using the Websters 1828 definitions, and example scriptures.

By 1Timothy115 in DevotionalsPsalms 119:1-8 Sep. 5 - Oct. 2, 2019
1 ALEPH. Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.
2 Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.
3 They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.
4 Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently.
5 O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!
6 Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.
7 I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments.
8 I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly.
The following verse stood out to me...
5 O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!
At first glance it seemed to me this person’s soul is poured out with intense desire to have God’s direction in keeping His Word.
I made a small wood fire in our backyard for my granddaughter, Julia, since she would be staying overnight with us. My wife and Julia stayed outside at the fire for about half an hour. Then, I found myself alone to watch the fire die out on a particularly lovely evening. So I took my verse from above and began to repeat it for memorization. As I repeated the verse, I tried to contemplate the words and apply them to what I was seeing around me.
The moon and stars were out now peering through the scattered clouds above.
[Genesis 1:16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. Genesis 1:17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, Genesis 1:18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.]
The moon has stayed his course since the day God created him, also the stars, obeying the statutes directed by God from the first day they were created. Can you imagine God’s direction to the Moon and stars, “moon you will have a path through the sky above the earth, stars you will occupy the firmament above the moon and be clearly visible in the cloudless night sky.”
Then, the trees, grass, even the air we breathe obey the statues God gave them from the beginning. None of these creations have souls, none have hearts, none have intelligence, but they all observe God’s statutes, His instructions for their limited time on earth.
What if we were like the moon, stars, trees, grass, or the other creations which have no soul? We would be directed to keep God’s statutes without choosing to keep them. This is not the image of God, there would be no dominion over other creatures, or over the earth. We would not be capable of experiencing the joy and peace of learning the love of God
Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Thought 3 (October 2, 2019)
Is the psalmist pleading God to force God’s statutes to become the man’s ways? No, he is speaking of his own failure in keeping God’s statutes and his desire to keep them, very much like Paul in Romans 7:14-25.
God doesn’t work through force to turn men from their ways that they would desire His statutes or desire God Himself. Men must reject (repent) put aside his own ways and voluntarily seek God and His statutes.
By E Morales in DevotionalsThis message still applies today, by Pastor Dr. Hans Nikoley
Pastor Many people have asked for a copy of the outline or the sermon tape of the message preached here at PRBC on February 23, 1997, entitled Seven Things Wrecking America. II Cron. 36:11-16, Prov. 14:34 Illus: What God loves & hates Prov. 6:16-19. God promotes a nation, man, church; and He puts it down when He is displeased with it. It is usually wrong living by the Christian that degrades a nation to the point of decay. Story: Zedekiah is Judahs last King before the captivity vs. 11-14.
Nebuchadnezzar this time does not knock, but pushes over the wall of Jerusalem & destroys the city and takes Judah into captivity. All in God providence. God had a two-fold purpose for Judah. They rejected the Prophets, and were living on borrowed time. It makes we wonder if we are living on borrowed time here in America. How much longer will God put up with our sin? For the nation of Judah, their time had come. There is a time when a nation reached that point. I wonder how close our nation is?
For 490 years Israel had not observed the sabbatical years as commanded in Lev. 25:1-5. The land was to rest every 7 years. They did not because of their greed. So God took them for 70 years to let the land rest. 490 divided by 7 is 70. Time stops when you are out of the will of God. Nothing much is said about the 70 years under Babylon.
SEVEN THINGS ARE WRECKING AMERICA IN THE 90 s.
1. POLITICS WITHOUT PRINCIPLES. We have always had impure men in politics. There never has been a time when politicians were perfect but we are to work toward that end. We dont expect politicians to be any more perfect than any of the rest of us. However, I believe right living promotes a nation to great-ness.
The U.S. is great, because it was good in the past. A few years ago the Gallup Poll indicated we had 75 million people who claimed to be born-again Christians. Politicians are using the terms to get elected. These days they appeal to the far-right. Yet they criticize them. Mr. Clinton carries his Bible around every Sunday, yet fails to obey its principles regarding homosexuality, abortion, etc. What really concerns me is that Washington consumes more liquor per capita, than any other city.
What we need in America today is some Nathans who will point their finger in the king face and say, Thou art the man. I am not saying that some of us preachers dont need the same. We need some John the Baptist who, at the risk of their own neck will accuse the king if he is immoral. We need some men of God who will not compromise and are not interested in popularity, but who are interested in pleasing God, honoring Christ, and winning their cities at any price for the Lord.
2. PLEASURE WITHOUT CONVICTION We licensed liquor during the Roosevelt Administration and have been pickled in alcohol ever since. Laziness is a major problem in America. More days off, more holidays, shorter work week, etc. are all a part of a crumbling society. Hollywood and TV are doing a very good job at having us accept the abnormal for normal, the perverted as good, etc. Right now, over 70% of TV programs, prime time, use profanity and sex. If you watch and listen to something long enough you will become brainwashed yourself. Some people even stay home on Sunday morning to see TV evangelists, etc. Lester Roloff called the networks the sewer lines of ABC, NBC and CBS, piped right into our homes. Listen: Dope, liquor, cigarettes, rock music, pornography, dirty movies all come from the same cesspool, HELL.
3. KNOWLEDGE WITHOUT CHARACTER. A. You cannot have knowledge without discipline. B. The humanistic religion is taught in our schools. C. Communism is no longer bad, just another way. Dr. Bob Jones Sr. Used to say, You can hire brains but you can buy character. Character is that something built into a man by the Holy Ghost through faithfulness to the Word of God, and obeying its commands. A great preacher used to say, Mushrooms spring up overnight but oak trees require a life time. A nation without character goes into captivity by default. As we increase in knowledge we must increase in character.
Did you hear about the latest study: They just found out that Phonics are beneficial for a childs reading. Wow! Someone said, When you educate unregenerate men you just teach them how to sin better, that all. Education without sanctification is abomination. Education is not enough. What is wrecking America? Today we have educators who believe murder (abortion) is OK, that homosexuality is a lifestyle and a matter of choice, etc. Listen, according to Romans chapter one; depravity leads to a reprobate mind. We see in Chronicles as well as entire OT that there was a general decline in Israel & Judah. However, there were about five periods of Revival, Renewal & Reformation:
A. Under Asa: Return and obedience to The Word of God.
B. Under Jehosophat: Return & obedience to …. C. Under Joash: Return & obedience to …… D. Under Hezekiah: Return & obedience …… E. Under Josiah: Return & obedience to …… In each instance Return & obedience to The Word of God. Which always led to repentance of the people & at least a temporary Renewal and Reformation of the nation. GLORY TO GOD! We will have to look at the other Four another time:
1. BUSINESS WITHOUT ETHICS.
2. SCIENCE WITHOUT GOD.
3. CHURCHES WITHOUT EVANGELISM.
4. WORSHIP WITHOUT SACRIFICE.
