I have never heard anyone present such valid arguments for the Existence of God better than William Lane Craig. Paul writes in Romans 1:20, "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:" Well, William Lane Craig validates and expounds on this with arguments that are irrefutable such as morality and the creation of the universe. Well, it's been awhile. But I just returned from a trip in the southwest with my wife and I got a close look at some very interesting things I would like to share with my friends here on Online Baptist. First picture: Agate Springs, Nebraska (talk about the middle of nowhere? Wow). There is a great fossil bed there where in more than one place fossils of animals are found by the thousands buried together at high elevation. This picture was taken through the big picture window of the museum at Agate Springs while I was talking to the park service host. She gave me the usual evolutionary explanation that the animals died there after fighting over one of the few remain…

........Koko, JoJo and Bonzo Architects? Somebody needs to point out to this guy that even 'lower' forms of life like honeybees, birds, beavers and termites build things which are FAR more complex and have much more highly 'advanced' design than a chimpanzee can do. I watched a nature film which showed a crab grabbing sea anemones and carefully placing them onto it's shell, to protect itself from predators. Another one showed a bird actually sewing leaves together, stitching them with strands from spider webs to make it's nest. Speaking of spider webs; what about the engineering that goes into one? What about the perfect rows of hexagons in a honeycomb? Or the amazing…

God or science? A belief in one weakens positive feelings for the other A person's unconscious attitudes toward science and God may be fundamentally opposed, researchers report, depending on how religion and science are used to answer "ultimate" questions such as how the universe began or the origin of life. What's more, those views can be manipulated, the researchers found. After using science or God to explain such important questions, most people display a preference for one and a neutral or even negative attitude toward the other. This effect appears to be independent of a person's religious background or views, says University of Illinois psychology professor J…

I just saw this in an Answers From Genesis newsletter: Q: Did Jesus allow for a gap? A: If you carefully study the words of Jesus, He made it plain that there can?t be a gap of billions of years between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. In Mark 10:6, Jesus said, ?But from the beginning of creation God made them male and female.? In these very words, Jesus clearly teaches that Adam and Eve were created in ?the beginning of the creation??not after billions of years had passed. Also, the expression ?beginning of the creation? rules out any ?re-creation? or ?second start? as taught by many gap theorists. There is much more here: http://www.answersingenesis.org/creatio ... theory.a…

[bible]1 Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down? 2 Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn? 3 Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee? 4 Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for a servant for ever? 5 Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens? 6 Shall the companions make a banquet of him? shall they part him among the merchants? 7 Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons? or his head with fish spears? 8 Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more. 9 Behold, the hope of him…

I don't believe I saw a topic on this subject, so I thought I would bring it up considering the professors at my college teach it. At this present time I am in a class called Genesis in which the teachings of the book Genesis Unbound will play a partial role considering the literature I have to read in this class is written by the author of this book. From what I gather, Genesis Unbound teaches that the Hebrew word eretz can also mean Promiseland. In Genesis 1:1 Sailhammer argues that this verse is indeed written about the creation of the earth, but the vereses that follow are an account of the creation of the Promise Land. If any of you have any helpful insight, I wo…

Stone tools found at the bottom level of the cave ? believed to be 2 million years old ? show that human ancestors were in the cave earlier than ever thought before. Geological evidence indicates that these tools were left in the cave and not washed into the site from the outside world. Archaeological investigations of the Wonderwerk cave ? a South African National Heritage site due to its role in discovering the human and environmental history of the area ? began in the 1940s and research continues to this day. A fossil of a toothless flying pterosaur, with a body bigger than some family cars, represents one of the largest of these extinct reptiles ever to be found and has forced the creation of a new genus, scientists announced today....http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,462604,00.html Wow. It is hard for people to fly in the air (not at least without an powerful airplane) and these flying pterosaur can fly! A friend of mine used to tell me that God made the dinosaur big to show us his majesty (or what he is capable of).

Stem cells restore hearing, vision in anima WASHINGTON (Reuters) ? Stem cells from tiny embryos can be used to restore lost hearing and vision in animals, researchers said Tuesday in what they believe is a first step toward helping people. One team repaired hearing in guinea pigs using human bone marrow stem cells, while another grew functioning eyes in tadpoles using frog cells. While there are no immediate uses for humans, they said their findings help describe some of the most basic biological processes underlying the development of hearing and sight, and may help in the development of the new field of regenerative medicine. ... http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/200811…

PhysOrg.com) -- As anyone who watched the Olympics can appreciate, timing matters when it comes to complex sequential actions. It can make a difference between a perfect handspring and a fall, for instance. But what controls that timing? MIT scientists are closing in on the brain regions responsible, thanks to some technical advances and some help from songbirds. "All our movements, from talking and walking to acrobatics or piano playing, are sequential behaviors," explained Michale Fee, an investigator in the McGovern Institute for Brain Research at MIT and an associate professor in MIT's Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences. "But we haven't had the necessary tool…

Utah announces 'major dinosaur fossil discovery' By MIKE STARK, Associated Press Writer 1 hour, 54 minutes ago SALT LAKE CITY - A newly discovered batch of well-preserved dinosaur bones, petrified trees and even freshwater clams in southeastern Utah could provide new clues about life in the region some 150 million years ago. The Bureau of Land Management announced the find Monday, calling the quarry near Hanksville "a major dinosaur fossil discovery." An excavation revealed at least four sauropods, which are long-necked, long-tailed plant-eating dinosaurs, and two carnivorous ones, according to the bureau. It may have also uncovered an herbivorous stegosaurus.…

I know Kent Hovind is mostly the big apologist for IFB's, but I wonder if you guys know some things about him... First, I want to say, I'm a born-again, Bible-believing, literal 6-day 6000 year old earth creationist, and I do have some respect for Mr.Hovind, but there are some things that you might want to know about what he's done and what he's said. Where I respect his intentions greatly, I most certainly DON'T appreciate or condone some of the things he's done. Allow me to explain... As a young earth creationist, Kent Hovind uses some questionable sciences--very questionable. Where he does present some truth to his arguments, there are plenty of times where he just…

Dark energy is at the heart of one of the greatest mysteries of modern physics, but it may be nothing more than an illusion, according physicists at Oxford University. The problem facing astrophysicists is that they have to explain why the universe appears to be expanding at an ever increasing rate. The most popular explanation is that some sort of force is pushing the accelerating the universe's expansion. That force is generally attributed to a mysterious dark energy. http://www.physorg.com/news141617439.html
