The following was sent to me through and e-mail and I would like to share....sometimes it takes a pet to reach out and touch someone. A WONDERFUL WAY TO EXPLAIN .... A sick man turned to his doctor, as he was preparing to leave the examination room and said, "Doctor, I am afraid to die. Tell me what lies on the other side." Very quietly, the doctor said, "I don't know." "You don't know? You, a Christian man, do not know what is on the other side?" The doctor was holding the handle of the door; on the other side of which came a sound of scratching and whining, and as he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room and leaped on him with an eager show of gladnes…

Friends, This was written specifically for nonbelievers. Most Christian material is ignored once (nonbelievers) sense that it speaks of God in any real form (the Bible). Most people (especially young adults) are programed to not really think beyond what is written. They want clarity. They want immediate answers. They want everything now, or they'll look elsewhere for what they THINK OR FEEL they need. In the meantime, that hole - right THERE isn't filled, 'cause the only thing that can fill it is what is of God. What I tried to do here is leave pretty much everything up to speculation if read through fast, and once. :D IMPOSSIBLE if you aren't a Christian. Response…

Here are three poems written at two very different points in my life - as a lost teenager (or perhaps when I was 20 - it was from a binder of poems that I found with things I had written up until 1990) and as a new Christian. While they may be a little cheesy, I like the attempts at making acrostic poems with every letter of the alphabet, and the contrast in worldviews presented in each. Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ changed everything, including my outlook on life, my priorities, and my eternal destiny! Now I have a spiritual prize worth striving for that I know I can reach, not some airy phantom or dream that has no meaning. The third one I wrote recently, basically as…

Adam's Sin

Adam sold us out to sin, but Jesus bought us back again Sin has made each man a slave, Jesus came to Earth to save. In the garden Mother Eve By temptation was deceived, Satan filled her head with lies, He's the father of all pride. On the cross Jesus died, to save a wretch like me, He paid the precious price, to set every sinner free, Someday I'll meet Him face to face, and thank Him for His loving grace, I want to bow down on my knees, and praise Him thru eternity, If you'll bow down on your knees, and you'll ask Jesus please, He'll wash away your every sin, Brother you'll be born again. If you'll bow down on your knees, and ask Him Jesus p…

Air is there all the time waiting for us to exhale then fill us and sustain our life. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are there all the time waiting for us to pray then fill us with abundant life. John 10:10 ...I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

All My Springs Are In You Like the children of Israel, all my springs are in You, O Lord; You are the fount of living waters, my delight is in Your Word. You are all that I ever needed, all my desires are in You alone; You loved me from the beginning; Jesus – You are my eternal home. My life was so vain without You, and brought such emptiness and fear; From the whirlwind of confusion, in love and grace You drew me near: You reached down to lift me up, as You regarded my low estate; With the shield of Your salvation, Your gentleness hath made me great. This I recall to my mind, all of Your mercies which are from old; Perfect peace which flows li…

March 30, 2013 Flames avoid 3 Bibles during 4-hour inferno that destroys home By Bill Foley The Daily Item HERNDON — Only three Bibles, found placed in different parts of her father’s residence, and her mother’s jewelry survived a blaze Saturday morning that destroyed a double-wide mobile home in southern Northumberland County, Carol Rickert said. “This house is burned to a crisp,” Rickert said after the 7:30 a.m. blaze at the intersection of Hooflander and Slutter Valley roads in Washington Township. Not one of three Bibles were “touched by flames,” she said. Read more about this story in Sunday's edition of The Daily Item.

The following is a poem written by Judge Roy Moore from Alabama. Judge Moore was sued by the ACLU for displaying the Ten Commandments in his courtroom foyer. He has been stripped of his judgeship and now they are trying to strip his right to practice law in Alabama. The judge's poem sums it up quite well. America The Beautiful America the Beautiful, or so you used to be. Land of the Pilgrims' pride; I'm glad they'll never see. Babies piled in dumpsters, Abortion on demand, Oh, sweet land of liberty; your house is on the sand. Our children wander aimlessly poisoned by cocaine, Choosing to indulge their lusts, when God has said abstain. From …

Phillis Wheatley, (1754?-1784), was a negro slave brought from Africa, became a Christian, and was highly respected among those who read her works. Phillis was well received by the Colonists, created the eulogy for George Whitfied when she was 16 years old, and in 1776 was received by General Washington. Note: the spacing, and italics, are as the book, 'The American Tradition in Literature, Vol. 1,Fouth Edition,' quotes the poem. The original poem may be found in, 'Poems on Various subjects, Religious and Moral, London, 1773.' An Hymn to the Evening. by Phillis Wheatley Soon as the sun forsook the eastern main The pealing th…

Many things are lacking in the church today, but probably the greatest of these needs is diligent, fervent prayer. Prayer is the essence of the Christian life; It is the Christians

I wrote this as a teen in the '70's and my dad later had it published in our church bulletin. Oh help me dear Lord For this I pray To honor Your Kingdom In all I say To be loving and kind To those met along the way And to become a better man As I grow each day To help others Whenever I can And to show the children that for which you stand To better myself In Thine own way In hope of serving You In Heaven someday Wayne At one time I tried to publish a book of poetry. I've had many published locally (and one nationally) but never got the book published.

Anticipation This morning I sat and wept as I shared with my husband some things that the Lord had brought to my mind. Mention was briefly made in an article I'd been reading, about the Gospel story of Mary sitting at the feet of Jesus. Even before I finished reading it, I knew the stirring of the Spirit giving rise to many new thoughts. Mary sat at the level of Jesus' feet and looked intently into His blessed face anticipating His every word. Zacchaeus of such short stature sought to see Jesus, and so ran to climb a sycamore tree to try to at least catch a glimpse of Him through the throngs of people. Imagine the mind of the woman with the infirmity as she pushed through…

There is a carpenter I know Who died for me so long ago. They tortured Him, His blood was shed, "Forgive them LORD," is what he said. Sit down my friend and hear my song, HIS words are true and never wrong. It started with HIS ministry, To challenge works of Pharisees. He told them how their hearts were hard, Their love for God they disregard.

An article I wrote awhile back... A CD player and radio in the car, a television in the living room and two or more computers place strategically throughout the house. A DVD player, a VCR and perhaps an Xbox or Wii may also be present just to round things out. If it is a Christian, conservative home, the music will be godly and classical, the movies are clean, wholesome and family oriented and the computer will be used for business, e-mail, Facebook and research for homeschool. The radio, of course, will be tuned only to conservative news, talk radio and Rush Linbaugh, Dave Ramsey, et al. There will be lots of books, tapes, DVD’s and CD’s full of preaching, Bi…

You know how people are always passing on certain blessings - like, May the road always rise to meet you, etc., etc.? Well, here is my attempt at a Biblical blessing poem: Be Strong And Of A Good Courage “Be strong and of a good courage,” My child, “Fear not, nor be afraid,” saith the Lord. May your life be filled to the brim with His promises, Overflowing with hope and wisdom gleaned from God’s Word. Jesus is your Shepherd who will lead and guide you; He will walk beside you every step of the way; He will lift you up and carry you there in His arms, Bring you back close beside Him whenever you stray. There is so much the Lord wants to do f…

Because You Passed My Way My load's a little lighter now, Because you passed my way - The sun's a little brighter And the clouds have passed away. I've found my Saviour nearer, And each day He grows still dearer And I'm on my way to Glory, Because you passed my way. I was lost and no one seemed to care Until you passed my way, You saw me, and led me to Christ Oh, what a happy day, Now I'm living all for Jesus, And with Him I'll be some day, For I found a new beginning, Because you passed my way. And when in realms of glory, I see His precious face, And hear the angel voices Within that heavenly place, I'll rememb…

Been there I?ve been down the road of evil, And past the gates of hell; I?ve laughed at ?laudy? goodness As my woeful heart will tell; I?ve tickled every fancy, And chased the elusive dream; I?ve licked the bottom of the barrel, And lapped the delicate cream. I?ve fought many battles, I?ve known the enemies? fears; I?ve laughed the laugh of victory, And cried with bitter tears: I?ve been up and down the road of life, I?ve sparked many schemes; I?ve ?been there? and back again, And heard life?s woeful screams. I?ve played with sin on every hand, Amid the sorrows and the cries; Followed the winsome ways of man, And lifted up these wretched eyes; And…

Have you ever passed by stretches of desert, or other abandoned land? These lands have been long sucked out of their nutrients, and are no more suitable for agriculture, much less human inhabitation. However, such lands were not formed within one day: the soil was eroded throughout a long period of time - either the rain will wash, or the wind would blow the nutrients away, and whatever water that remains will be dried by the sun. One popular example of such once-useful land is the Sahel - a region between Central and North Africa - land that was once a haven for farmers half a century ago. Now mostly barren, it is almost impossible to regain the lost ground again. What…

This beautiful story was written by a doctor who worked in South Africa... One night I had worked hard to help a mother in the labor ward; but in spite of all we could do, she died leaving us with a tiny premature baby and a crying two-year-old daughter. We would have difficulty keeping the baby alive; as we had no incubator (we had no electricity to run an incubator). We also had no special feeding facilities. Although we lived on the equator, nights were often chilly with treacherous drafts. One student midwife went for the box we had for such babies and the cotton wool that the baby would be wrapped in. Another went to stoke up the fire and fill a hot…

Behold Your Saviour Behold the Man – the Perfect Man, The Promised Seed from days of old; The Son of Man who came from Heaven, As all My chosen prophets had foretold. Behold My Servant – with opened ears, Delighting to do all of My will; In the Volume of the Book it is written, All of My Law would He fulfill. Behold your King – the King of Kings, The Son of David ruling from on High; The Prince of Peace, the Lion of Judah, The Living Waters of Shiloh flowing by. Behold your God – the one True God, Your greatest need He would provide; This is My Son in whom I’m well pleased, This is the reason for which He died: Behold the La…
