There is a carpenter I know Who died for me so long ago. They tortured Him, His blood was shed, "Forgive them LORD," is what he said. Sit down my friend and hear my song, HIS words are true and never wrong. It started with HIS ministry, To challenge works of Pharisees. He told them how their hearts were hard, Their love for God they disregard.

Long is the corridor of recognized time. Birthing a history omniscient and blind bendable, biddable winding and hazy seducing a people both ruthless and lazy with perceptions of truth more real than the truth of their perceptions

Deeper, Still My troubles seemed to overwhelm, Why must things seem so ill? I cried out, "Oh, how deep my wounds," But his love was deeper, still. My debt hung over like a cloud, How could I pay this bill? "Lord, I've reached my lowest point!" But his love was deeper, still. My heart was aching for relief Who can this hunger fill? "Must emptiness be always here?" But his love was deeper, still. My journey seemed too much for me, As if twas all up hill. "My energy is tapped, I'm spent!" But his love was deeper, still. My eyes then lifted from my lot, And gazed upon a hill, "Lord, you gave all, for one like me?" But his love was deeper, still. So …

I posted this a few years ago in the former lady's forum before it moved over to here. We have lost 2 of our own precious little ones and our granddaughter, and it's very comforting to know that they are with our dear Saviour in glory. ***** Precious Little One There was something that fell so short...when my whispered words of love to her went unheard since death had stolen her away...I know I kissed her and I had the taste of her upon my lips...and I took it in and savored it.... It is obvious by their soft little foot imprints in the snow, that little snowbirds and snow bunnies are watching out for our little Kate's resting place. …

There are three times in the New Testament that the phrase "full assurance" is used. I have been meditating on those passages the last several days, and have tried to write a poem with full assurance as a theme (taking the various contexts into consideration). When I started writing it, the tune of So Little Time came to mind. Here is the result so far, to the tune of that great hymn. (I may modify the wording after Angela - my editor  critiques it.) Full Assurance Full assurance

A Poem and a Prayer Dear Holy Spirit, Thank you for your sweet voice within; Thank you for the great power of your presence; Thank you for walking daily with me; Thank you for your gracious “Pleasance”. You’re a very great friend indeed; A Guide and a companion to such a wretch as I; Ever strengthening, ever encouraging, Ever faithful, ever building me. Thank you for standing by me in those late night hours; Thank you for controlling my dreams, influencing my thoughts; Thank you for your ever-present love. What an amazing person you are; what an amazing friend; You are more to me than words can express; More precious than any treasure, future or past;…

Dream Or Reality? Is it just a distant dream, this vision that I see To know my Heavenly Father as a warm reality? To sense the blessed comfort within His precious Word To know His deep compassion behind each word I've heard. To understand the heart that knows the real me To believe that I'm protected, that He's my security To know that He is near, His Spirit is inside me To believe that He will never leave as a strong certainty. To experience the presence of God that evil cannot harm To give all my cares to Him and rest within His arms To feel His joy and fellowship, His love without an end To know God as my Father and as my trusted frie…

A man was sleeping at night in his cabin when suddenly his room filled with light and the Savior appeared. The Lord told the man he had work for him to do, and showed him a large rock in front of his cabin. The Lord explained that the man was to push against the rock with all his might. This the man did, day after day. For many years he toiled from sun up to sun down, his shoulders set squarely against the cold, massive surface of the unmoving rock, pushing with all his might. Each night the man returned to his cabin sore, and worn out, feeling that his whole day had been spent in vain. Seeing that the man was showing signs of discouragement, the Evil Impulse deci…

My faith is based upon the resurrection, for it is the empty tomb, which is the pivotal point differentiating the Christian from all other religions, and establishes the credibility of the Word of God. 1) The resurrection was foretold by Jesus Christ. Matthew writes,

DON'T JUDGE TOO SOON! 'Some people!' snorted a man standing behind me in the long line at the grocery store. 'You would think the manager would pay attention and open another line,' said a woman. I looked to the front of the line to see what the hold up was and saw a well dressed, young woman, trying to get the machine to accept her credit card. No matter how many times she swiped it, the machine kept rejecting it. 'It's one of them welfare card things. Damn people need to get a job like everyone else,' said the man standing behind me. The young woman turned around to see who had made the comment. 'It was me,' he said, pointing to himself The young …

Dad

Ok well, I am not a poet at all, but here goes I wrote this the other day for my Grandpa who was the only dad I ever knew. He passed away 6 months ago yesterday A father's touch, a daddy's kiss' A grieving daughter, you're greatly missed. An empty house, an empty chair, A father's love no longer there. A broken heart, a tear filled eye, Another soul to fill the sky. Many memories in my mind, At some I laugh, some I cry. The times we shared, the laughs we had, The things I miss when I think of you, dad. Realizing that's all I have to hold on too, Only memories of what once was you. Missing your laugh that I will never hear again That is the reality …

Who will take the Son

Who'll Take the Son? A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had everything in their collection, from Picasso to Raphael. They would often sit together and admire the great works of art. When the Viet Nam conflict broke out, the son went to war. He was very courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier. The father was notified and grieved deeply for his only son. About a month later, just before Christmas, there was a knock at the door. A young man stood at the door with a large package in his hands. He said, "Sir, you don't know me, but I am the soldier for whom your son gave his life. He saved many lives that day, and h…

If thou doest well in all things And many approve thy works, Wouldst thy soul gain a profit, Should praises add to thy worth? If thou holdest truths unknown by all And thy knowledge doth increase, Shall men see only God's wisdom And thou, in their sight, decrease? When thy hand reacheth another, And through thee blessings flow, Wilt thou keep thy mouth silent That none thine kindness know? 'Tis not what we can do, And all the things we possess Which giveth exaltation Nor pleaseth the LORD best. When in all humility To God our hearts we surrender; He rewardeth His grace And our good works doth He remember. In…

The seas toss to and fro, The wind is blowing so fierce. Not knowing where to go, All I can do is cry out in tears. The battle is raging from day to day, I don?t know if I can make it through. Storms are coming my way Sometimes I feel like I don?t know what to do. But my Lord said, linger near, Give the battle over to me, I am with you, and will always be here, Just trust the one who died for you on Calvary. Lord, the battle is forever yours, You have won the victory, You have triumph forevermore, You calmed the storms, and set me free. Jesus took my battle and won the victory, The winds settled, and the storm passed away, He brought me down to a p…

Immanuel When once I mourned a load of sin; When conscience felt a wound within; When all my works were thrown away; When on my knees I knelt to pray, Then, blissful hour, remembered well, I learned Thy love, Immanuel. When storms of sorrow toss my soul; When waves of care around me roll; When comforts sink, when joys shall flee; When hopeless griefs shall gape for me, One word the tempest's rage shall quell - That word, Thy name, Immanuel. When for the truth I suffer shame; When foes pour scandal on my name; When cruel taunts and jeers abound; When "Bulls of Bashan" gird me round, Secure within Thy tower I'll dwell - That tower, Th…

Limericks I once knew a man named Earl, Who married a countrified girl; His son was named Jake, His daughter, a snake, And she was the family pearl! There once was a man from ‘Orleans Who thrived on bananas and beans; He grew so small, He was nothing at all; Then he fell through a hole in his jeans! There was a kid on my bus Who never made much of a fuss; He surprised us one day When he stood up to say, “Wanna hear how good I kin cuss?” There was a man from Kalamazoo Who always had nothing to do; He got so bored, He went out of his gourd, And died of the “lambuckaroo.” There was a man from Sarongue, Who had a very unruly tongue, He raised t…

Memorial Day was over now All had left and I was alone I began to read the names and dates Chiseled there on every stone. The dates that show whether it was Mom or Dad Or daughter or baby son The dates were different but the amount the same There were two on every one. It was then I noticed something It was but a simple line It was the dash between the dates Placed there, it stood for time, All at once it dawned on me How important that little line The dates placed there belong to God But that line is yours and mine. It's God who gives us precious life And God who takes away But that line between He gives to us To do with what we may. We know…

Martha And Mary Martha and Mary, two sisters together one day. Each sought to follow Jesus in their own unique way; Martha was so busy still, but Mary would not be dismayed: She wanted to spend time with her Master - with Jesus, come what may. Nothing wrong with serving, but what is the end goal of your life? Do you desire the Saviour more than the bustle and the strife? Would you rather be so focussed, with everything placed so neat - Or does your spirit and soul crave to worship at His feet? In all of our opportunities, with each day that we face, What’s the outcome, what’s the priority, when everything finds its place? Did we seek to spen…

One Window Is All I Need One window is all I need, To go explore the unknown world, To be the light to shine through the darkness, Be a leader like Jesus, And be all I can be, Through Jesus Christ, And become an Youth Pastor, And do God's Will! Faith I believe in the Lord. The Lord that came to this world, The Bible that says it, The God that sent His Son, Sacriface, Forgiveness, Gift. But I don't believe in other believes. I believe in the sacriface the Lord did, I believe in the forgiveness for my sins, I believe in the gift to be saved by the Lord, God, Jesus, Holy Spirit. And I believe in all this because the Bible says it because it is the …

Well, this is a little off season, but the truth is still very real. I was thinking of eliminating Stanza 1 and 2, so as to put more emphasis on the most important part, and that would start it at "Time spent... " Any input? **************** What Does Christmas Mean To Me? Forts so grand and snow ball fights, Plump little men made of snow. Sledding down hills (oh what a sight), With cold red faces all aglow. Lights that sparkle on garlands of pine, How they twinkle, how they shine! And glimmering tinsel on the tree, Hiding presents for you and for me. Time spent with loved ones so dear, Singing, gathered 'round the tree, "Jingle Bells" and…

The Valleys Of Life There are so many valleys in this life; Times of sorrow, heartache, and strife. In this vale of tears you are passing through, I know our Lord will carry you. As you're walking in the shadow of death, This troubled life seems but a breath. When it appears all around you is night The Lord will be your lamp and light. Though giants of distress are drawing near, My friend, there is no cause for fear, For the Lord above still rules from His throne; He will never leave you alone. When the valley of trouble looms ahead, Look to Jesus with faith instead. Forget the doubts along life's storm-tossed way, Let God's Word li…

Love is… Love is not known until it is shown, And it is revived through giving; Love is not felt until cold hearts melt, Then it brings joy to the living. Love is a force that will run its course, Only when hard hearts are tender; Love is the emotion which animates a notion, And brings great joy to its sender. Love is the season which salts all reason, And allows us to be what we’re not; Love is the magic that bewilders the tragic, And turns us from lukewarm to hot! Love is the art that burdens the heart, To give the Gospel to the poor; Love is the ray that lightens our way, It’s the Truth, the Life, and the Door. Love is the feeling that sets my he…
