Chocolate-Peppermint Bark cookies These cookies are chocolatey and verrrrrrrrrrrrry fudgy; studded with bright colorful chunks of peppermint bark, they provide a cool cocoa sensation. This cookie matches perfectly with a tall glass of milk. Chocolate-Peppermint bark cookies will be the first to be eaten at any cookie swap, and are bound to become a holiday staple after you take your first bite. Perfect for in-laws or holiday parties it's a cookie made to impress. You can buy peppermint bark at any candy store or specialty food store, or you can simply make the peppermint bark yourself. If you want to make life even easier just add some chocolate chips and crushed…

I understand that the subject of TimTams has come up in some areas of the OLB forums here, and I think it is my civic duty to explain the finer points of the best possible way to enjoy this most revered of all Aussie biscuits (cookies for you uneducated - oops I mean american lot! ) The TimTam is a chocolate coated two 'chocolate cookie' sandwich with a sort of chocolate cream between. It is about 2 1/2 inches long and about 1 inch wide. You take your TimTam and bit a small portion of the end - just enough to break the chocolate coating and into the edge of both of the cookies really. Do the same to the other end. Now place one end of the TimTam into your mouth a…

I have a whole chicken thawing in the fridge right now, and I'm not sure what to do with it. I'd like to do it in the crockpot, but not sure if that's possible. Anyone have some suggestions?

I love potatos, boil em mash em stick em in a stew.... aside from putting all types of weird things into mashed taters, one of my favorites is a simple deep fryer platter. I put em out for guests and they usually don't eat dinner because they fill up on em I just cut the potato in about 1/4 slices, skin still on, deep fry for about 5 min @450. This causes a mashed potato like center, a slightly crispy perfectly brown outer shell After dabbing dry right out of the fryer, I quickly salt em so the salt melts in with the left over oil and coats em well. I spread them on a plate. Some times yes, some times no, at this point I put a coating of a sharp cheddar 4 years…

that sour cream tastes good with blueberries pancakes? Yum! You add sour cream in the pancake mix, not after they are cooked.

If any of you have recipes that does not contain eggs, nuts, and soy please share. My son's allergy test (both blood and skin test) shows he is allergic to them and may be triggering his ezcema that just won't go away. He is not getting any sleep from it. And we are bored with eating the same old stuff. I need something creative. What we don't like is anything with onions, bell peppers, and strong spicy stuff like taco (If it is extremely mild, that's ok) Thanks.

3/4 lbs ground beef 1/4 lbs ground pork (you can use all beef, it's not that big a change) 1 cup fine dry bread crumbs 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese 1 tbs minsted parsely 1 glove of garlic cut fine 1/2 cup milk 2 eggs beaten 1 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon pepper Get gooey by mixing all this together in a big bowl by hand. It feels so gross, but it's fun at the same time. Oh, you better have washed your hands or be eating alone. Once you got it all folded together mixed up well and good, then make meat balls about 1 1/2 inches big. In a frying pan, brown them. You're not cooking them through, just browning the edges. So yea, have a radio or T.V. handy…

Do you make your own? Doctor up somebody else's? Open up a jar/can? I use Hunts regular flavor and add ground beef and spicy sausage to it. Everybody here loves it so I guess that is what counts. :frog

I suppose this should go in the food section, but I'm asking purely for the sake of conversation, and nothing else. If the mods want to move it, ok. Anyways, what sort of things do you and your family like to snack on? My absolute favorite is chips & dips of just about any sort. Some of my other favorites are: sunflower seeds chocolate cookies crackers
