I know about John Macarthur, Max Lucado, John Piper. The wife of our pastor told me to be careful in buying 'Christian' books, coz' not all books claiming to be in the Christian section are 'Christian' books. (Teaching is distorted etc.) Any more recommendation>?

Sir Winston Sherri, I never had anything more than a Heinz 57 before. Winston is a great little dog. We got him used so, my wife bought him but, he has grown very attached to me. He is a welsh terrier. Anyone else have a pet?

A quote on today's devotional page. http://utmost.org/ Both nations and individuals have tried Christianity and abandoned it, because it has been found too difficult; but no man has ever gone through the crisis of deliberately making Jesus Lord and found Him to be a failure. Posted: 02/15/11 Fox News and MSNBC in Bed Together on Gay Rights By Cliff Kincaid The Fox News Channel and MSNBC may be ideological competitors, but they see things the same way on homosexual "gay pride" in the media business. The National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association (NLGJA) is sponsoring a March 24, 2011, "Headlines & Headliners" fundraiser [1] to be hosted by MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts, with "special guests" that include Jamie Colby, Rick Folbaum, and Kimberly Guilfoyle of Fox News. Tickets are $100-$150. Other "special guests" include Chris Jansing of MSNBC, Natalie Morales of NBC News, Erin Moriarty of CBS News, Trish Regan of CNBC, and…

In the middle of our service today Facebook decided to ban the stream citing a failure to follow FB standards. No explanation given. There was nothing political, nothing about Trump or voter fraud, nothing about Covid, just cut the stream to those stuck at home mostly elderly and infirmed. Get ready to see more of this.

Primitive Baptists, as some may know, do not believe in using musical instruments in worship. But a good friend of ours, who is a Primitive Baptist, comes from a very musical family and they play and sing Christian/gospel music. Once a month, they invite us over to their home to 'pick and grin' and we all sit around and jam on our banjos, fiddles, guitars, mandolins and sing old hymns. So if it's not OK to sing about Jesus while plunking your guitar in the churchouse why is it everywhere else? I've never gotten up the nerve to ask why.

How do I protect the eyes, and heart, of my 13 year old son from the almost constant display female skin all about? Things were bad enough when I was a teen but they are so much worse now. We stopped at a gas station today and while there a car load of teen girls pulls in. They all get out of the car and they are all wearing shorts so short and tight that I don't know how they got them on or how they can even move in them. Thankfully for myself, seeing such doesn't cause me to lust and I can turn my eyes, but when I was a teen I no doubt would have lusted and my eyes would have been glued to them. We now have teen girls living across from us and they wear shorts and…

"I opted to place this in here instead of simply a PM for Bro. Matt. I sought to be patient with Covenanter figuring it can be beneficial to allow him to let us see how his brain ticks. I feel he has done that with "Understanding Hebrews". I also believe he has taken advantage of that opportunity when he opened "Understanding Revelation". After all, is it just coincidence that he didn't start (as an example) "Understanding Colossians"? Now we have KnockKnock who I believe to be SDA. I'm ready to grab an eraser and go "Postal" deleting "Understanding Hebrews", "Understanding Revelation" and everything "KnockKnock" related. Why not just the SDA only? What he has done is rea…

Wednesday September 29, 2010 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OBama Says Teachings of Jesus Christ 'Spoke to Me,' then Defends Abortion By Kathleen Gilbert ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico, September 29, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Following reports of widespread skepticism over his professed Christianity, President OBama on Tuesday invoked the teachings of Jesus Christ as the inspiration for his public agenda, which he called part of an "effort to express my Christian faith" - and in his next breath defended the legalized killing of unborn children. When a teacher's assistant asked him why he was a Christian during a townha…

I know this is rich coming from me but here goes anyway...… (In other words, I am talking to myself as well!) How about we extend each other a bit of grace every now and then? What I mean is that, especially in the IB section, we all know roughly what we mean - none of the regulars here are going to disagree with the basics of salvation for instance, but sometimes we might say something like "I was saved when I put my trust in Jesus" - and yes that is not technically and theologically correct, but we know we mean when we say such things. There are absolutely times when the technicalities need to be discussed or pointed out, but when the discussion is a casu…

There are loved ones in the glory, Whose dear forms you often miss; When you close your earthly story, Will you join them in their bliss? Will the circle be unbroken By and by, by and by? In a better home awaiting In the sky, in the sky? In the joyous days of childhood, Oft they told of wondrous love, Pointed to the dying Savior Now they dwell with Him above. Will the circle be unbroken By and by, by and by? In a better home awaiting In the sky, in the sky? You remember songs of heaven Which you sang with childish voice, Do you love the hymns they taught you, Or are songs of earth your choice? Will the circle be unbroken By and by, by and by? In a…

I was just looking at some of the stats from my. online Baptist, and one of the biggest search queries in this last month that people have found us was by googling wife spanking. Now we're talking about husbands who discipline their wife by spanking. I guess I'm just kind of dumbfounded that people would actually be searching for this. Is this still a thing today? Here is the link.
