I was 24 years old, had been in church most of my life. But I was lost, didn't care about church, and didn't know God. I went because my parents made me go. But on that Sunday morning, Mother's Day, 1985, I was under deep conviction as they sang "love lifted me". Then the preacher preached with love and compassion from the 23rd psalm. God was calling to me personally that morning. He showed me that He loved me. I had been a wicked sinner but He loved me. I heard no supernatural, audible voice except the words of the preacher. Jesus was speaking to me...He was there in the room. I started to move then hesitated, then shook my head "no". I wasn't going to reject Hima nd g…

I got pulled over by a police officer today for speeding as I was late to work this morning. We got into a discussion on the bible after he had noticed my small bible in the glove compartment when he had asked for proof of insurance. To make a long story short...after our discussion ended - he decided to let me go scot free. Thank God for always keep a bible handy at all times. Love, Madeline

1 Thessalonians 5:18 “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” Answers these questions: In what? “Everything” Do what? “Give thanks” Why? It is the “Will of God” In Whom” “Christ Jesus” For who? “Concerning You” In everything: Every condition; Every circumstance; Every blessing. We Praise the Lord with our lips; We Glorify Him in our life; and we honor Him in our heart. In order to fulfill this verse, we must also give thanks all the time. Everywhere we go; In everything we do; All the time; All that comes our way, we are to thank God for. It may be His will that we exper…

Praise the Lord that we had 16 people saved after our Christmas Cantata this weekend. I don't have an exact number, but we had around 30 people who made other decisions as well.

I was just thinking how refreshing it is to get on here at OB. The devil's ugly, the world is wicked, but God is so very good. He moved the heart and mind of those here to develop OB and keep this site going. It truly is a place where I feel edified. I thank God for it.

of Online Baptist. This month has been very unique. LOL. I wanted to give a "shout out" to all the Christian men on Online Baptist. The Lord Jesus Christ has certainly blessed this site with compassionate, confident, faithful, productive, strong, zealous, men...that serve Our Great God and Saviour from various like-minded faiths. Keep up the good job men. You know that you are our leaders in this country and world. :thumb Please...stay strong, but remember...to "lift" one another up in these times of trials and tribulations. I am certain that others will follow you as you continue the walk in the Christian faith. Women and children look to you for leadership…

A long hard struggle It’s a long, hard struggle through life, but the Lord makes it a lot more pleasant. Oh, it isn’t easy for anyone, but admittedly, some have it much worse than others. We suffer many things in this life; sickness, deaths, persecutions, mockeries, even beatings for some, but the Lord sees us through if we will just hang on. Each moment seems to hold a blessing or a curse for us; every step we take can bring about a new disaster, or a new blessing, but the Lord is there with us through it all; He is there to guide us through, and to make the path easier to tread, and He does that well. No matter oh Christian friend, how hard your plight, it woul…

I'm just sooo happy that we're going on a little vacation tomorrow! I so need to get away for a few days! We'll be leaving a little early and taking a train to Beijing, and then we will return on Monday. :praise: We'll have our laptop with us, so I hope to check in now and then. This trip is more for relaxing than seeing great sites.

This might not seem like much, but I was low on gas and almost out of money today. I drive about 30 miles (one way) to work every day, and I thought for the first time I might have to charge something to my credit card without having the money to pay it off immediately. But first....I prayed! Well, my car is still on my parents' insurance because it's cheaper (I'm listed as the main driver, but with their car and the house we all get a discount). My mom received a letter today with a partial refund of our premiums because their "financial results have been better than expected recently." She cashed the check and decided to give it all to me. So when I came home ton…

A pianist!

I have a praise! For about 2 1/2 years now I've been playing piano for our church. I don't play real well and can't play all the songs, and some days it was hard if my kids got sick or just trying to juggle nursery and play piano, and always having to find someone for my kids to sit with while I played and my husband would preach. Well now we have a member who is a proficient pianist! She has agreed to be the main Sunday pianist from now on. Praise the Lord! Now I can sit with my children and not worry so much about the nursery, and its such a blessing! I will still be playing on Wednesday nights and filling in for her if she has to be away.

We have, in our neighborhood, the barkingest black lab in the entire county. Really. Everytime we walk by, he barks (wagging his tail begging for attention, but scary to the kids nonetheless.) Well, the babydumpling is sick. She's had a fever all week. Last night, while I kept her home from church, I decided to take her out for a walk around the block. Hoping quietly that Shadow was in the house, we approached. I saw him at the gate watching me. A foxhole prayer that he wouldn't bark to send the baby into hysterics and would you believe that dog didn't make a peep as he followed us around the yard? My husband was amazed, but the Lord kept that doggy quiet. We need…

We had a teen girl get saved this past Sunday morning!!!! Last Summer our youth group really exploded and we've had a bunch of new teens coming pretty faithfully. But just in the last month or so it feels like we've kinda hit our first slump and I've been doing more praying than every individually for each teen and for the group as a whole. Last week I started praying even more specifically for our teens so it was really exciting and encouraging to see the salvation of this particular girl. She said she'd been wanting to for months! You just never know how the Lord is working in hearts. It's so wonderful to see Him moving. :-) Praise the Lord!

Happy Valentine's Day to all. What a difference a year makes! Today the sun is shining brightly. Last year we were having a "snowmageddon," as it has been dubbed. This time last year (Val. Day was on Thursday), my husband had gotten home early from his client's house because he had a slip-and-fall on black ice. Thus began a journey of healing that isn't done yet. Randy is better - much, much better - although he still has a ways to go to complete healing. The rip in his thigh muscle healed well, and the hematoma should be mostly, if not completely, drained (his doc said it was the biggest hematoma that he had ever seen and that it would take, at minimum, a year …

A Wonderful Praise Report For Our Nation
by Guest Guest- 8 replies

Today was the first day of my church Revival. When the evangelist preached, he told us that the country of Korea has a burden for American churches. They are the first country, he said---that is sending missionaries to the USA, in this present day. They are so concerned with America and it---"going down the tubes" that they are sending missionaries to us? How beautiful. :smile This brings me so much hope. We've sent them out to other nations and Korea is the first country to give back to us---what is rightfully God's Holy word. I know the Lord of Lords and King of Kings always takes care of EVERYTHING. I ALWAYS have hope. :thumb
