Today in our deaf Sunday school class, we had 5 visitors - a deaf man, his hearing wife and 3 kids. They all stayed for church as well! Also, I talked with a deaf man today that has come once in a while, and he recently started reading his Bible more and is being convicted to be more faithful to church. He likes our church, and is going to be coming more regularly. I have to admit, it is hard for me to understand all of what he signs to me, but for the most part, I understand him. He is a young man in his 20's. Also, there is another deaf lady that started to come often, and then stopped coming. We found out she had some medical problems that were keeping her f…

My girlfriend came into town (with her mom)... and left as my fiance. :Green She met my parents, and they loved her. I proposed to her at a nature trail in Wichita, KS, last Saturday (Nov. 17) afternoon. Everything went wonderfully at church yesterday as well. Some pictures are attached. [attachment=2] [attachment=1] [attachment=0] Yep yep yep, we're engaged. I don't have any pictures of the ring, because I'm a guy. :Green Nope, we don't yet have a date set for when Rachel Guy becomes Rachel Adra... but I can't wait! Psalm 68:19 ? "Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah."

we went out to the family cabin for two weeks for Christmas/New Year's. Hubby saves his leave time so we can take two weeks and he and our son make an attempt at trapping. This year they didn't do so well. The baits and lures were old (we couldn't afford to get new this year) the weather was great (60's & 70's the first week and a half) and they pinched several things but nothing was in the traps. We figure we may need to replace springs, most of these traps are probably 30-40 years old and nothing has ever been replaced. Not sure what to get for the Northwoods traps since they are no longer manufactured.... As you can see from the photo of the tree our back door…

As I mentioned elsewhere, I recently found out that my blood pressure was dangerously high. I don't remember the exact numbers, but it was something like 175/105. I attributed it to being anxious about going to the doctor, because I hate going to doctors. However, I checked it myself about a week later, and it was still in that same range. As I also mentioned, I completely changed my diet and started walking about two weeks ago. I've noticed a change in several different areas since I started this...good changes. Last night, I decided that I would check my blood pressure for the first time since I made the diet and exercise changes two weeks ago. I didn't reall…

My wife and I work in the deaf ministry at First Baptist Church, Rosemount, MN. My wife does a lot of interpreting, and I get to interpret for the deaf men once a month for the men's missions prayer time. Two years ago, our first regular deaf couple started coming to church, and we have seen some deaf people come and go throughout this time. But, this year has been different. Since January, we have seen 8 deaf people get saved, and 3 of their children also. A deaf couple that have been living together (both of them got saved this year) decided to honor God, and they got married. We now have 11 deaf members who come on Sunday mornings, and about 4-5 that come Sunday…

I'm registered with a couple of temp agencies, and recently one of them sent my resume to a Purchasing Coordinator for an oil & gas exploration company in downtown Houston. They liked my resume enough to call me for an interview. I interviewed on Monday (it went surprisingly well -- usually I get really nervous during interviews but I wasn't this time, and I have God to thank for that :smile ). Yesterday afternoon I got a call from my agency and they told me that the people I interviewed with at this company liked me and thought I would be a great fit for this position (providing clerical support to the Purchasing Coordinator -- including scanning documents, obtai…

We found ourselves running very low on food and with no check coming in until the end of the week. It looked as if my wife and children would eat what we had left and I would basically eat little or nothing until payday. (This has been a horrible year for us financially; even so, the Lord blesses and provides!) Anyway, I happened to stop by my sisters house tonight and while I was there she started going through her cabinets and refrigerator to toss things out. My sister is VERY picky about her food. She won't eat leftovers. Peanut butter that has only been open for a week or so she thinks is no longer good. If she has something in the freezer for awhile she convinc…

I was baptized again last night! 1 2

Hi everyone. I was baptized again last night. The reason is because I do not feel that my previous two baptisms were valid. The reason is that my heart and mind was not in the right place for the first one although the form was valid. The reason for the second one is that it was a Mormon baptism. Yes, I converted to Mormonism last year but I have left the Mormon church and am in the process of officially removing my records from the Mormon church. I am ashamed of myself that I fell to the Mormons seductive doctrine. Anyway, my baptism last night was the first time I have been validly baptized because for the first time, I was baptized with the proper state of mind …

Sunday night I spoke on the topic of, 'A Genuine Christian Faith.' Monday night as we were going to bed, our ten year old daughter came to us and shared that Sunday night, on her own, in our family room, she did business with God. She told us that she had asked the Lord to forgive her for her sins, come into her heart and change her life, make her one of His children, and to, as she put it, "...take her home to Heaven when she dies." We were so tickled. You'd have to know Bethany, she is a quiet and sober minded girl. We knew this is not some whim she came up with. She hadn't really been very inquistivie, but she is a very contemplative girl. She saw it was time to…

I've been back from Korea for two months now and I've been really praying about where to work and haven't really felt comfortable with the places where I've been applying. One of my friends at our church 20-something Bible study told me about a company he used to work for and when I really looked into it and applied, I felt like it was really somewhere where I would love to work and start a career. I've really been praying about it and had my second interview(after an initial phone screening interview) there this past Tuesday. I got a call a few minutes ago letting me know I had gotten the jOB. Praise the Lord that He has provided me a jOB and hopefully a place where I ca…

Saved And I Know It My grandma on my mom's side used to take my sisters and me to Sunday School and also to VBS during the summers. Those were very pertinent times, and the influences from them paved the way to my salvation. In later years, Dad and Mom started attending church and in time actually became quite actively involved. Dad used to smoke (as did my grandpa), and he also used to consume alcohol and sell it in their little store. That came to an end when some of the church leaders went to him and more or less taught him that he ought not to be selling it if he was a Christian. At Easter time when I was about 7 years old, a movie was going to be sh…

We have been praying for my niece and I have asked for your prayers as well. Well...God still answers prayers!! And we want to praise Him for it!! At the same time, we want to ask for more prayers. There are many rules that the State imposes on caregivers for foster children and some of them contradict my beliefs as to the best interest of a child. One area is regarding discipline. If we want to have custody of her, we have to sign an agreement that we will only discipline her according to their guidlines and measures of discipline they approve. Am I supposed to have a double standard for her and my biological children? Can anyone say confusion? Please keep me an…

I've been called to a church as pastor... due to Online Baptist! It's been a while since I've posted but I just had to share this with the users of Online Baptist. I've been seeking a pastorate for over a year. Some time ago (mid Nov) I was discussing some my "candidating adventures". Well, the last week in Dec I received an email from someone who had remembered my posts here. They gave me contact information for a church that was looking for a pastor. I called the church and they had me come candidate the very next Sunday (Dec 31). I preached/taught at the church for two additional weeks (including Wed's). After the evening service last night I was called as pa…

I Timothy 2:1-2 says, "I exhort therefore, that first of all supplications, prayers, interecessons, and giving of thanks , be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty." On this Fourth of July, let us pray for our great country and for all those who are in positions of authority in this great land. Let us also pray for the Presidential election that God's will be done in His choice of who leads this land of His!

It is such a wonderful blessing to hear or read the testimonies of others! It's such a joy to see our God working in the lives of others. There's a lot of dialogue about doctrine...which can be very illuminating, and there are lots of salvation testimonies too...which is such a delightful thing to rejoice in! One thing that I truly miss though, is the sharing and testifying about the "relationship" different ones have with the Lord now. I'm not referring to our position in Christ being accepted in the beloved, and I'm not speaking of the knowledge and understanding we have of scriptural matters. Just as we have a relationship with loved ones on this earth, we also ha…

My church has been blessed lately with visits from missionaries that we support. Where we are, it is unusual for people to stop by - Perth is not really on the way anywhere, so you really have to be going TO Perth. And that is Expensive! As a result we don't get visits from missionaries very often. So far this year - yes 2018 - we have had two missionaries able to spend time with us. What a blessing it is to be able to look after these people!!!!
