Hi Anybody Out There! I'm new here, but just wanted to mention a great new hymnal put out by Majesty Music....."Rejoice Hymns" containing the favorites from the Majesty Hymns with many more added. I came across it while looking for something else....downloaded some samples, and ordered a spiral edition along with some of their instructional books. Great product! This has probably been addresses before, but what are ya'lls thoughts on classical music? I don't like all classical. The more modern stuff gets under my skin, with the exception of some that is of the "classical" or "baroqure" style. I like some of the Romantic era, i.e. Dvorak's New World Sym. etc.

My wife majored in piano at Bob Jones University, so I got to love classical music there along with sacred Christian music. I love the hymns by Fanny Crosby and John Wesley which glorified God! Music should exalt Jesus Christ! I also like the music performed in the show Faith for the Family which used to air on Saturday night in Greenville, S.C. :bonK:

One of our church members attended a funeral service yesterday afternoon, they had the choir from our local Mennoite Chruch, they sang the song, "When We All Get To Heaven," but they sang, "When All The Saved Get To Heaven. I never really gave it no thought, but that song is not scriptural sang as written, unless only saved people are singing it. Had you ever given thought to this?

My friend and I were discussing music the other day, and he has been explaining to me for quite some time now what a rock beat is and why it is wrong etc. I have been confused a little. Well, the other day he said something to me that the Lord used to just get a hold of me. He said "Katy-Anne, God is not the author of confusion". As soon as he said that, it hit me. I had some music that I was "confused" about. The devil is the one that is the author of confusion. So therefore if I am confused about it I should relegate it to the devil's category unless I find specific evidence that it is God's music. Hi Guys, I was visiting at Baptist Church in this area. I had not been to this Baptist Church in some 20 years. and I must admit, I was shocked. When I first got saved, it was strictly Hymns and that was it. I was quite shocked when they were singing contemporary music. Folks, as an ex-pentecostal, of 20 years. I can tell you, they were singing the SAME songs of the Pentecostal Churches!!!!!! I was totally stunned! :? :shock: :freak: :Ticking Since when do Baptist's sing the same songs of the Apostate Church? Country music has always included gospel music. This was something that I was thinking about today. I came across some videos on youtube of Christians doing "body worship," which is named correctly since it is usually focused on the worship and glorification of the body and most often accompanied by rock music. However, the Bible does say, "praise him with the timbrel and dance." There aren't many verses on dance in Scripture and extremely few in the New Testament, half of which are found in the girl dancing before Herod. It does seem, though, that God approves of dancing to glorify Him. Obviously, most dances that claim to worship Him today are just a part of the secularization of Christianity. So, my question is, …

Is anyone familiar with the Daybreak Quartet out of Georgia? I'm trying to decide where to serve this summer, and I have the option of helping out at some revival meetings where they will be providing the music. Are they good, conservative, singers? Or are they contemporary and ecumenical?

My church has a strong conviction against CCM and worldly music. We use our hymn book during worship service, so most of the Christian songs I know is only what is found on our hymn book. I am just wondering if there is such a thing as Christian love songs or all songs should only be for the Saviour. If there is, can you tell me the title or can you post the lyrics? Reader, When a person hears the "Gospel", as, "faith comes by hearing" ... then this faith is proof something happened in the heart of the Believer that God SEES... as "God sees the heart" And what is that, that God sees that has happened inside you? God sees your "repentance" ....that is of the kind that God accepts, and that is not repenting from sin....but its repenting from UNBELIEF. See, God is not looking for people who are willing to "clean up"... as = ""Jesus came into the world to save SINNERS" See that Reader? God is looking for FAITH IN CHRIST...and then God will clean you ............So, God is looking for FAITH.....as that proves you have repented from your UNBELIEF.... and God takes that FAITH, and accepts that one time FAITH = forever..... and then He does this... A.) He takes ALL your sin, and puts it on Jesus, "God hath made Jesus to be SIN for us".... = as if Jesus is YOU THE SINNER, and then Christ dies on the Cross, for ALL YOUR SIN.. and then,,. God takes that Righteous LIFE that Jesus LIVED.. and God gives it to you... "imputs it".. ."charges it to you", as if you lived it all your life. This is to become "a New Creation, In Christ". See that? That is : SALVATiON.... Its Jesus becoming our wrong and our sin, and us, = through God's Grace.... God gives us His own RIGHTEOUSNESS, as if we were always righteous, and will always be.. RIGHTEOUS. = to become BORN AGAIN. This is the "imputed righteousness" that God gives you the INSTANT you trusted in Christ, and you remain "made righteous".. having become "the righteousness of God, in Christ".... = FOREVER. Welcome to : Salvation Its a "GIFT"..... an Eternal Gift. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reader Let me simplify it even more.. God is Holy and we are not. So, for God to have us, is for God to join Himself to us : Spiritually. See, "God is A Spirit" and we are a spirit in a body that is not connected to God because our SIN does not allow God to have spiritual union with us. So, See the 2 fold issue? 1.) You have to become as RIGHTEOUS as God, before HOLY RIGHTEOUS God, can join Himself to you, so that you become BORN AGAIN SPIRITUALLY. 2.) Your SIN is blocking God from having you rejoined to Him in "Spiritual Union". So, GOD had to solve = these 2 issues for you, as you can't deal with your own sin, and you can't become righteous. A.) God became a man to die for all your sin, so that He can then give you HIS Righteousness. And that is what happens when you go to God with Faith in Christ. God takes the Blood and Death of Jesus and makes you sinless, as "Jesus is the ONE TIME... Eternal SACRIFICE for SIN" AND then, once your SIN is dealt with by the BLOOD and DEATH of Jesus........as He has now died for them all..... God then gives you "the Gift of Righteousness" that is "The Gift of Salvation". See that? That is to become BORN AGAIN... as a "new Creation".. "in Christ". AS = "ONE with GOD". See how simple that is, yet how amazing is this Gift of Salvation? Jesus dies for your sin so that God can now give you His RIGHTEOUSNESS... and then He can Join Himself to you, as you have now and forever... become.. AA.) = "The Righteousness ... OF GOD...... David used to be my youth pastor at the Faith Baptist Church where I grew up. His father, Henry C. Sorenson was my pastor for nine years. David was not always KJVO', and once gave and encouraged my mother to read an NASB version of the Bible shortly after she got saved. -

Nope, she was a lost child of the Catholic Church, trusting in her works to get her to Heaven. She rejected much Scriptural truth, and made people happy/comfortable dying in their own false religions. AND no lost person can ever do "GOOD WORKS" in God's eyes. All her righteousnesses are as filthy rags (see Isaiah 64:6) compared to the pure, sinless blood of Jesus which was shed on the cross to redeem us from our sins. -
Yes, and we see that exact result in those listening to Stephen's message, to some people during the time of Jesus' ministry - the fact that some people can clearly reject the Lord also means some can receive Him. If we are too dead to respond positively (ie. of you still equate physical death with spiritual death), then we are too dead to reject Him too.
