I just found this website today, April 19, 2024. Never heard of him. Can you relate any experiences you've had concerning him or his ministry? From the home page: https://kjvevangelist.com/ "Psalm 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. Greetings in the Name of Jesus Christ, We are, Jack and Barb Koons; Evangelists to America, and as the Letterhead states; “Promoting the King James Bible, and Refuting Calvinism, and Arminianism”. After researching the King James issue since about 1990, and having writ…

I am posting this anonymously because I have to, due to security concerns in our area of ministry but some of you would recognize me if I posted on my other account here. I am an IFB missionary working with a small team to translate the first Bible for the ____ language. We are translating from the Textus Receptus. We are experiencing active persecution from the religion of our people, recently a mob came to one of our church meetings and beat two of our translators and have consistently threatened us. We have completed translation work of Chapters 1-3 in John, and are in the final step for John 4, and we have finished the first draft of Chapter 5, we have als…

Are there English or other language translations of the New Testament Greek that both predate the KJV and are recognized as inspired translations?

Would you ever choose to read your Bible this way? Surely your understanding would be better if you could read straight from where the KJV was translated from right? I am asking b/c i may have a chance here shortly to study one or both of the languages and am thinking it would be a blessing to be able to read straight from the originals. What do you guys think?

Did Adam Have A Priestly Position? Reading 'Searching for ADAM, Terry Mortenson, Editor He contrasts the verbs of Genesis 2:15 with the verbs in Numbers 3:7-10. Adams job description with that of the Levitical Priesthood. I thought the possibility intriguing enough to garner thoughts from others. Adam the first created priest! Personally, having yet to compare other scripture, I will be looking further.

Hi everyone. Are Bibles in other languages that are translated from the Textus Receptus perfect just like the KJV is or is the KJV the only perfect Bible in any language?

BrotherTony asked me to show where some modern versions remove or change passages about the deity of Christ, hence this thread. Robert Bratcher who "translated" the Good News Bible did not believe Jesus was good, so his translation was done in such a way as to present his doctrinal stance. Here are some examples: Acts 20:28 So keep watch over yourselves and over all the flock which the Holy Spirit has placed in your care. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he made his own through the blood of his Son. Does not declare God shed His own blood - therefore ruining a verse teaching Christ is both God and man, and that it was His blood that purchased our salvati…

Besides ordering and having the Bible translated into the English language, what else good, did this king do for Christians.

A poster on another forum, the topic of which was questioning the authenticity of the last 12 verses in the book of Mark, wrote that it doesn't really matter because there is no doctrinal teaching in Mark 16:9-20 that cannot be proved elsewhere in agreed Scripture. I made the mistake of sticking my nose into the discussion by pointing out that actually there is a statement in verse 9, as the KJV and similar versions have it, which is used for a doctrinal teaching that is to be found nowhere else in Scripture. As the KJV and similar versions translate it, it is the only place that puts the resurrection on the first day of the week. I then suggested that whenever the d…

This topic is not to discuss the accuracy of the KJV or other translations, but to discuss the use of saying "I use the KJV 1611 Bible" Is it wrong to say that we use the KJV 1611 or should we say KJV 1763? A common argument against the KJV is to say that we don't use the 1611 Bible but rather the 1763. I understand what took place in the English language for the updates that took place in 1763, and I also understand why I say KJV 1611. Nobody that I'm aware of says that the Bible I read is the original KJV 1611 style, but the foundation was from the KJV 1611. It seems that that logic that is thrown in the KJV faces only applies to the Bible. I drive a 2013…

Hi, I would love to hear the community’s feedback about using an update to the King James Version. I love the KJV. But the language is basically 400 year-old English. So if there were a simple and accurate update to the KJV that made no changes except updating the old language, would you want to use it? What would be your thoughts generally about such an update? Would you like it as a stand alone version, or as a parallel Bible with the current KJV? It would be great to hear what you all think. May God be glorified. In Christ, Joseph

Per title, it's about time I purchase a new Bible to preach from. My current preaching Bible of 30+ years is beyond repair. It is a Scofield Bible and I'm starting to have a hard time reading the small print. he Bible has been taped together plenty of times, but pages keep falling out now so time to purchase a new Bible. Thank you, I'm not looking for wide margin Bible, but rather just a good Bible to use while preaching. My questions are, What type of KJV Bible do you recommend or even maybe use? Scofield, Cambridge, Thompson Chain, etc. What size font do you like to use? Goatskin, Lambskin, etc? Which one holds up better?
